Chapter 5

The darkness began to slide under my body. The crown lit up. With its rays I could see the real face of the demon and his crimson skin. He looked at me in ecstasy.

«You are so perfect» he whispered.

I closed my eyes, holding back a scream. A fire burned my heart, wiping away the pain of Morien's death and all of my fears. My skin started to turn gray, like I was made of stone. A new power flowed into my veins, instead of blood, a thirst of revenge.

I looked at the blood's stains on my hands and then at Morian's body on a rust-colored grass.

«I am exiled from your world, but you aren't. Are you curios to see what you can do?» he sneered.

I bowed my head, but the crown remained in place. «You said I'm the second. Where is the first one?».

«Being a demon is not easy» he answered, evasive. «You can call me Reliut».

«Reliut» I tasted this sound on my tongue. «Take me to the mirror».

He snapped his fingers and brought up a glass plate. «It needs a magic word to work» he joked.

I smiled, amused. «Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the best demon of them all?».

The surface shimmered, inviting me to enter. The glass turned red and fluid as I touched it.

Reliut took my hand, and I let him do it. His skin was warm and smelled of wild roses. «As long as you remembered Morien, your body will remain mortal, so be careful».

I blinked, placing my free hand on the neckline of the dress. «I can't forget him».

Morien was always the only owner of my heart, and I kept feeling my mind connected to him. I only hoped there really was a way to bring him back, but first I wanted to throw out all the hatred that hit me. I would have enjoyed tormenting all those who hinder the love.

When Reliut let me go I felt like I was split in half and it was strange.

«We'll see it» he safely smiled. «I don't have a heart, but I know how to take it».
