The White Haired...Boy?
I woke up from the smell of breakfast coming from Tohru's cooking. I walked downstairs and sat at the table. I was still exhausted from yesterday, even though I went to bed early. I was barely awake, and I was constantly opening my eyes slowly, then closing them, while walking down the stairs. I didn't care about anything at the moment besides trying to wake up and get breakfast. I was on the last 3 steps of the stairs, until I accidentally tripped on my own feet and I was about to hit then ground, but I landed in someone's arms.
"You know, you got to be more careful than that." I heard a male voice speak. I was suddenly fully awake and I saw Kyo holding me tightly.
"Sorry about that, I was half asleep." I said sheepishly.
He smiled in return and gently stroked my hair. I felt a warm feeling in my heart and I placed my head on his chest.
"Hey Kyo, have you seen Ni-." Ash said while walking to the stairs. She stared at me and Kyo while I had placed my head on his chest. I looked up and Kyo then we looked over at Ash, who was about to burst into laughter.
"You better not say this to anyone." I commanded Ash furiously.
She sighed. "Okay." Then she was about to go upstairs until she quickly turned around. "Hey guys, Nikki is hugging Kyo in a romantic way!"
An irk mark formed on me and Kyo's head. I heard the sweet little voice of Katy, yet it wasn't sweet at all. She began to laugh at us, which made us more irritated than before. Ash and Katy both fell on the ground and began to bang on the hard wood floor with their hands clenched into fists, both laughing their heads off. Suddenly, Shigure placed one of his hands' on my shoulder and the other on Kyo's.
"Ah, good morning my sweet little kittens!" Shigure chimed.
I looked over at Kyo, who's face was red like a tomato. I saw his cat ears perk up in an angry matter like a cat ready to pounce. (haha, Kyo's a cat and...okay you get the joke)
"Don't touch me! And never call me and Nikki that again!" Kyo yelled uproariously, making my ears ring uncontrollably. Then Kyo stormed upstairs, forcefully stomping his feet on the steps. Part of me wanted to go and comfort him, but the other half wanted me to stay here and let him be.
"I guess you should go check on him." I heard Shigure say. Did he really want me to go upstairs to Kyo? I nodded then I climbed up the stairs to Kyo's room.
I knew where he would be, since I knew everything about him or did I? he seems to be hiding something that he doesn't want to tell me, but I can't seem to figure out what that is. I climbed up the ladder to the roof and I saw Kyo lying down looking at the sky. I sat down next to him.
"Shigure told you to come up here, didn't he." Kyo stated. I was in amazement that Kyo knew Shigure wanted me to check on him.
"Um yeah, but I also wanted to come here. Wait, you aren't happy to see me?"
Kyo sprang up from his position he was, now sitting next to me in a panicked matter. "No I didn't mean it like that...I'm glad you're here, but it's just...ah never mind, I should just keep my mouth shut."
I sat there silently for a few moments wondering why he wants to keep his mouth shut. Since Kyo likes being outdoors maybe I should take him out for a walk in the woods. That might brighten up his mood.
"Hey Kyo," I said beginning a conversation. He looked up and made some sort of hum as a reply. "Do you want to take a walk with me, if you don't mine."
"Sure, why not." He answered with a slight smile. I smiled in return. "Grab a jacket, I don't want you catching a cold." He insisted.
I walked into my room, well the one I share with my sisters, and I walked over to the closet. I opened it up and looked on my side where I hung my dresses, (yes Nikki wears dresses, but only if she wants to, it isn't common for her to wear that stuff.) jackets, and school uniforms. I reached out and grabbed a sky blue North Face (Japan sells North Face) and unhooked it from the hanger. I put it on, closed the closet door, then walked downstairs. Kyo was already there wearing a red jacket, which seemed very cute on him.
"Aw, are the two little kitties going on a date?" Ash teased, which she found very amusing.
"No we're just going for a walk." I corrected.
"Oh I see, you guys are gonna take a walk, hand in hand, then start kissing each other." Ash said then snickered.
"Shut up! Why the hell would we do that?! We're just taking a walk, dammit." Kyo yelled.
"Whoa, calm down Mr. Feisty, I didn't do anything." Ash held her hands up at her chest acting like she was innocent.
"Just ignore her." I said then slid open the door. "Let's go."
We walked deeper into the woods, enjoying the sounds of nature, until I freak out once I see some type of insect in my sight. Kyo would calm me down and say "it's just a bug" but no matter what I will always be afraid of a bug. Even a butterfly. We walked on an unsteady path, but it was all worth it. Walking in a peaceful environment made Kyo and I feel much more relaxed than ever. I had no idea what time it was, but my instincts recall that it's around noon. I began to hum a tune from a song that I listened when I was younger, one of may favorite songs as a matter of fact. Kyo looked over at me while I was humming the song.
"What song is that?" He asked.
"Oh it's a song called "My Immortal." I love it so much." I answered.
"How does it go? I also want to hear how you sing."
"Aw no, I'm not a good singer anyways. I just like this song a lot because it makes me feel happy and I'm protected by someone." I shook that thought away because the person who protected me was my mom who died on my birthday. I hate Akito as much as before.
"Please, just this once. No one else is here besides me." He begged.
"Alright." I let out a big sigh. "Here it goes." I took a deep breath then I began to sing the chorus.
When you'd cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears.
When you'd screamed, I'd fight away all of your fears.
And I held your hand though all of these years.
But you still have, all of me.
Kyo stood there after I finished the chorus. He must of been amazed by my singing voice. He looked at me then smiled.
"Wow, you have such a pretty voice." He complimented.
"No I don't. I just can sing, good." I refused. "Anyways, let's go."
We continued to walk. Suddenly, I noticed something on my right hand side, an old man? I nudged Kyo and pointed to what I was looking at.
"What the-." Kyo said then I cut him off.
"He may be dying. Let's help him." I panicked.
"Wait, you can't pick him up or you'll transform!" Kyo yelled to stop me, but it was too late. I was already running to the man. Kyo ran behind me.
"Excuse me- wait this is a boy?" I said. "Kyo we've got to help him."
Kyo didn't answer me, instead he stood there and he seemed to be thinking about something. The only person I know with white hair is Haru, but he has black underneath it due to him being a cow.
"Nikki, pick him up." Kyo commanded.
"No! I'm going to transform!" I said.
"Just do it."
"Fine, but I blame you if he wakes up and sees me as a cat." I crouched down and I began to pick him up. I tightly closed my eyes waiting for me to transform, but nothing happened. "K-Kyo, how come I haven't transformed."
"That's what I'm trying to figure out. Let's bring him back home, then call Hatori." Kyo suggested.
"What?! We can't bring a stranger to our house!" I shouted.
"Calm down, trust me." Kyo said. I sighed then Kyo and I picked up the boy, carefully carrying him back to Shigure's house.
*Back at Shigure's House*
""OMG you brought a dead dude back home!" Katy shrieked.
"No he's not dead, he's unconscious," I said. "And why would we bring a dead person back home?"
Katy shrugged her shoulders. "Anyways, how can you carry him, shouldn't you have transformed already?"
"We actually don't know. We're going to call Hatori to figure out what's going on, he may know." I explained. Katy nodded her head then walked into the kitchen. Kyo and I walked over to the living room and placed the boy on the couch, trying as much not to harm him in any way. Kyo walked over to the house phone and called Hatori, the family doctor.
A few minutes later, Hatori arrived with his medical kit. Tohru let him in and led him to were the guy with white hair was.
"So," Hatori began. "Who is he?"
"I don't know. Kyo and I found him lying down on the ground in the forest while we were taking a walk." I explained thoroughly.
He nodded his head then opened up his black case, revealing all of his doctor utensils. He pulled out his stethoscope and listened to his heart beat. Then he pulled out his thermometer and placed it under the guys tongue, checking his temperature. Hatori then took it out and looked at it then placed it back in his bag. Hatori stood up, facing me and Kyo with a very stern look on his face.
"I heard what happened about yesterday," Hatori said in a solemn tone. "This is someone you know, a friend possibly."
Kyo and I looked at each other then back to Hatori.
"Um I don't think we know him." I said honestly.
Hatori crouched down, now face to face with the boy. He brushed some of his white hair. "Nikki, Kyo." Hatori said then pointed his finger at the boy's white hair.
He brushed some up so we could get a better look. I saw some brown hair under all the white. Suddenly, most of the brown hair turned white. My eyes widen in shock. The guy's eyes began to flutter open, revealing his brown eyes.
"Nikki?" The boy said in a weak tone. How did this guy know my name? "Nikki, it's me Shiro." He said. Shiro? How come his brown hair is turning white?
"Shiro?" Kyo and I said in unison. Shiro let out a slight cough then smiled.
"So you two do know him, am I correct?" Hatori questioned with no emotion.
"What does it look like? Of course we know him!" Kyo yelled.
"You don't have to yell," Hatori said. "Anyways, Shiro, please tell us what happened, as much as you can remember."
"Okay, um I remember I was walking with Ash and Katy to the Sohma House because Akito wanted me to bring them to him, but he also wanted you. I brought Ash and Katy to him, but then he started questioning me about why I didn't bring you. He began to raise his voice at me until he completely lost it and throw me in a closet and locked me in there. I sat there for hours in the dark closet with nothing to do. I was in desperate need of food until I fainted. A few minutes later I felt some type of pain in my body and i slowly opened my eyes but everything was blurry. Then everything got black and I passed out again." Shiro explained briefly.
"What was that pain, may I ask." Hatori asked.
"I don't know. Everything happened so soon, but I remember I had a really bad headache." Shiro answered.
"Wait, me and Kyo found you in the forest, how'd you get there." I asked Shiro.
Shiro blink with a confused expression on his face. "I-I'm sorry, but I don't remember being in a forest. The last place I remember being is the closet at he Sohma House."
"Then-." Kyo placed his hand on my shoulder, making me stop what I was about to say next.
"Don't ask too many questions," Kyo said in calm voice. "You don't want to think to much and harm himself anymore." Kyo's word were said in a more softer tone, than usual. Could he me acting more nicer to me?
"Okay." I answered.
Hatori stood up and packed up his doctor utensils. Shiro still looked like he was in pain. His hair continued to turn white. I had to do something.
"Wait Hatori," I called. "Please tell me why Shiro's hair is turning white!" I was really anxious to get the answer. As much as I hate Shiro, I don't like seeing people in pain.
"I apologize, but I have no clue. I may have to ask Akito. He must of been the one who seen him last. If only I can get an answer out of him." Hatori pondered for a moment.
"Akito." I mumbled under my breath. I don't think anyone heard me besides Kyo, who turned his head after I said that name. Ash was also present near the doorway. She seemed very worried about Shiro, even though he helped Akito for taking my sisters hostage and attempting to kill them. Hatori shook his head and returned back into reality. He waved goodbye, then closed the door behind himself.
"I hope Shiro's gonna be okay," Ash said sadly from the other side of the room. "He really means a lot to me."
"Ooooo look, now who has a crush on someone." I said as I walked passed Ash.
"Hey I only said that to you and Kyo because you both make a great couple!" Ash scowled. "I swear, you both know everything about each other, right?" Kyo and I glanced over each other then we blushed. Ash walked away, murmuring some words that I couldn't recall.
Out of nowhere I hear my stomach growl. I checked the time and it was almost noon meaning I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. I walked over to the fridge and grabbed an apple inside one of the compartments inside it. I walked back to Shiro, just to check on him. Who knows how long he's going to be here.
"Hey Shiro, do you want anything to eat?" I asked.
"Um no thanks." He responded firmly.
"Okay, just call me if you need anything." I said then walked away.
I feel really bad that he's like this. I feel like it's my fault. I should've gone with him for a walk, but then Kyo would get jealous or at least furious.

Later that night, Tohru cooked us dinner, which was delicious. I wish I could cook like her. Shiro asked for some of Tohru's cooking too, but we didn't want him to get up, he's already in too much pain. Suddenly, I heard a faint knock on the door...
Omg I'm soooooooooooooo sorry I didn't update sooner, I'm so busy with school and everything. So yeah. Um the name of that song was My Immoral by Evanescence and if you heard the singer, she's very talented. I love her songs so much and I think you may be hearing some more in this book in the future. I may take a while for the last few chapters because I want to add as much detail as I can to spice up the book. So that means I may not do anyone's POV, only third person. Oh and they might get longer due to that. Anyways, that's all I have to say for now, Bye my friends! =^•^=
