Nikki's P.O.V

Suddenly, there was a faint knock on the door...

Tohru walked up to the door and opened it. The second she slid open the door, a small boy with blonde hair jumped into her arms.

Poof

As the smoke cleared, it revealed a small yellow rabbit with coffee colored tips on his ears.

"Momiji," Someone called in a calm, yet solemn voice. That someone was Hatori, still carrying the same black case from earlier today. "Momiji."

"Aw come on, why can't I give Tohru a hug? I don't care if I transform," The yellow rabbit, also known as Momiji cried. "Tohru likes me as a bunny, right Tohru?"

Tohru stood there with a terrified expression on her face, due to everything happening so fast. "O-oh of course!" She finally replied after a few moments.

"Nikki, may I talk to you for a moment," Hatori asked. I nodded in return, then followed Hatori outside. "Apparently Akito doesn't know anything about Shiro."

"Okay, Ash may find that very disappointing to her." I sadly answered.

"Just all you should do is take care of him until he has enough energy to stand. Don't force him too, though, you could ware him out even more, which could cause even more difficulties in the future," Hatori explained. He stood there for a few moments. I was about to turn around to go back inside, but Hatori gently placed his hand on my shoulder. "Hold on a minute, I need you to do something. Forget what I said about making Shiro stand up, make him then I want you to hug him."

My eyes grew from Hatori's order. "Why, you already know that I'll transform?"

"Please do it for me," He ordered.

I sighed then walked back inside, followed by Hatori. Hatori walked up to Shiro and politely told him to stand. Shiro did so, even if it took him a minute. I walk up to him and hugged him. Nothing happened.

"Ah crap! How come I didn't transform!" I shrieked in confusion. Everyone came running into the living room to see what was going on. Suddenly, Shiro was about to fall onto the floor until Tohru quickly ran up to him and helped him up. Out of the sudden...

Poof!

A white cloud of smoke appeared and everyone turned their heads.

"Sh-Shiro?" Tohru called. But only a weak groan answered. The smoke cleaned and everyone bunched together like a bouquet of flowers to see what happened. "Eh! Shiro!"

I looked at the ground and noticed a white tiger in Shiro's place, his clothes under his paws. Everybody gasped, except for Tohru, who was running around in circles saying there was a tiger in the house and it wasn't someone named Kisa. Whoever she is. Katy walked over to Tohru and trying as much as she can to calm her down.

"Shiro." I said. The white tiger looked up and gazed into my eyes with its golden brown eyes.

"Yes." Shiro replied in a very weak tone.

"How'd this happened, it can't be possible. How? Before you were a normal human, but now you're a tiger. I-I." My head spun around, causing my head to start pounding.

"Nikki are you alright?" I heard Kyo ask in concern. My head began pounding even worse, I could hardly talk or stand. "Nikki?" Kyo repeated. I began to get dizzy then I lost my balance and crashed onto the floor. "NIKKI!"

Third Person P.O.V.

Nikki's began to get a raging headache from all the confusion. Shiro turning into a tiger wasn't all that caused it, it was also from Akito aggressively throwing Nikki onto the floor. At least she didn't get a concussion, that would've made matters worse. Nikki's headache continuously expanded until she had no energy to stand. She fell to the ground, while the concerning call from Kyo echoed through the room. Everyone stopped what they were doing, either calming down Tohru, or whispering about Shiro. They all looked at Kyo in complete silence, then down at Nikki. Kyo bent down and picked up Nikki, which to him weighed like a feather. He scurried into Nikki's room and placed her under covers, then he felt her forehead. Thankfully, it wasn't steaming hot like Tohru's many months ago before he met Nikki.

The Sohma's, Kanaji's and Tohru walked into Nikki's room, only to surprisingly see Kyo feeling Nikki's forehead, signifying his concern for her.

Everyone knew Kyo cared for Nikki, but not like this. The way he expressed it made the others see he has a good side to him. A more protective and caring side. He would only show this while being alone with Nikki, but he could never his feelings to her because he didn't have the courage to. He felt like he should tell her how he really felt, especially after hearing the story Akito told the twosome yesterday. From all the pain he's received throughout the years, the most hurtful of all is seeing the one he loved getting injured, even if it is the smallest thing like a paper cut, he could feel her pain and try to help her to make that once happy girl into an even more happier girl than before.

Slowly, Hatori approached Kyo and Nikki. He didn't want to startle Kyo, or else his blood will boil up with rage. Instead, Hatori decided to call out his name.

"Kyo," Hatori said with no emotion.

Kyo looked up, then back at Nikki. He stood up then turned around. Kyo glared at everyone, apparently his temper began to grow. Why couldn't everyone leave him alone? Can't him and Nikki get privacy to themselves? "Just call me when Nikki wakes up." Kyo growled then stormed off to the roof to get time to himself.

"Hatori, will Nikki be okay?" Katy asked in a worried-some voice.

Hatori felt Nikki's head just as Kyo did. Her forehead seemed normal, so he went to his second option, ask Ash and Katy. "I will only know for sure if you explain to me about Nikki's health."

Ash and Katy blinked then looked at each other. "Well I know she doesn't usually get sick often." Katy stated.

"Oh, but she gets dizzy sometimes if she puts herself under too much pressure." Ash added. Hatori nodded then continued to examine Nikki.

"Perhaps she has put herself under too much pressure, please explain more." Hatori looked back at Ash and Katy, patiently waiting for one of them to answer.

"Um after that she would probably faint for a short time or she could transform." Ash claimed.

"Is there a way to treat her, like some form of medication?"

"No, I would just let her rest. She seems fine after that." Ash answered. Hatori stood up then walked up to Tohru, who was holding Shiro, still as a tiger.

"Someone call Kyo and let him watch Nikki for me," Hatori began. "Everyone head downstairs so I can check on Shiro. Tohru, would you mind if you could place Shiro on the sofa and cover him up with a blanket."

"Of course!" She beamed, then headed downstairs.

"I'll get Kyo." Katy cheered, then walked into Kyo's room. The rest of the group returned downstairs, but they hoped Nikki would feel better soon, the house seems to feel empty without her.

Kyo stood by the bedside, kneeling, watching Nikki sleep. She looked peaceful, but he had to focus on waiting for Nikki to wake up. He only heard the sound of her breathing, the rest of the house was silent. He constantly checked her digital clock on her nightstand, it read 9:37 pm. He remembered earlier today during their walk, they found Shiro, skipping breakfast. Possibly Nikki could have gotten dizzy from the lack of food, even though she had dinner right before that.

Nikki turned her head towards Kyo's direction, then her whole body. She fluttered her eyes open, then constantly blinked to regain her vision. She noticed Kyo and smiled, and he smiled back.

"I'm glad you're awake." Kyo said in a friendly tone.

Nikki smiled, then pushed herself up, now sitting in a crossed leg position under her covers. "What time is it anyways?" She asked.

"It's 9:50 pm, why?" Kyo answered/asked.

"I don't know, but what happened. I hardly remember anything that happened."

"Well, Shiro transformed into a tiger and you fainted. I brought you up here and Hatori took your temperature," Kyo explained. "Then I came and I took care of you." The last few words Kyo mumbled, not wanting Nikki to hear or know his true feelings for her.

"What was that last part?" Nikki asked while raising an eyebrow.

"I took care of you, alright!" He conferenced while raising his voice. "Hold on, I didn't mean to yell, I just—,"

"It's okay," Nikki interrupted. "I glad that you really care for me." Both Nikki and Kyo looked in each other's eyes. They quickly turned away after realizing they were blushing.

A few minutes later, Nikki was about to move out of her covers, until Kyo stopped her. "Don't move, I have to go get Hatori to check on you." With that Kyo dashed out of the room to go get Hatori.

Before Nikki woke up, everyone except Kyo followed Tohru downstairs. Tohru carefully placed the white tiger, Shiro, onto the sofa. Everybody backed up to give Hatori space while examining Shiro.

"Shiro, can you understand everything I'm saying." Hatori asked.

"Ah yeah." Shiro answered.

"Good, I have a theory that Akito lied to me, but it's normal for him to do such things. I will try again later on if he can tell me what happened." Hatori said.

After a few minutes Hatori began to ask more questions to Shiro, only to find most of them negative. He asked if he'd remember anything, even though Shiro answered earlier today, no. Suddenly, the pounding footsteps of Kyo's feet was heard and everyone jerked their heads to the stairs. Kyo took a deep breath before talking.

"Nikki's awake," He told everyone. Soon everybody's face lit up with bright smiles. Hatori stepped forward and walked upstairs into Nikki's room, who she shared with her sisters.

Hatori entered Nikki's room and gave a slight smile to Nikki. Nikki was lying on the bed, still in the same position as before. She hadn't moved a muscle just as Kyo instructed.

"Hello Nikki, glad you're awake," protested Hatori. "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah, I'm great." Nikki cheered.

Kyo smiled at Nikki's reply. He was glad that he could hear her sweet, soothing voice again, especially when she was in the brightest mood she could be in. Hatori put his hand on Nikki's forehead, but no fever, which is a good sign.

"I would stay in bed if I were you, though it's already late so why would anyone stay up this late." Hatori said.

"Duh, to watch Scream Queens!" Katy beamed unexpectedly.

"The new episode of Scream Queens just finished, you missed it." Nikki responded.

"NO! MY FUTURE HUSBAND, NICK JONAS WAS IN THAT EPISODE!!! AND I MISSED IT! NO!" Katy cried.

"Who?" Kyo asked in curiosity.

"An American singer and actor. She's in love with him." Nikki answered.

"It's alright Katy," Kyo walked over to Katy. "Hey look on the bright side, you wouldn't even have a chance with him anyways." Kyo snickered.

Katy at this point was filled with rage. "HOW IS THAT A BRIGHT SIDE?!" Katy hollered.

"It isn't. Can't you take a joke for once?" Kyo affirmed.

Katy's blood boiler with anger. she eventually lost it and punched Kyo when he wasn't looking. Thankfully, Kyo grabbed Katy's fist just before her fist was about to collide with his face. Katy was shocked at Kyo reflexes, but I was normal for him because he was a cat.

"Think twice when you're going to attack me." He let go of Katy's hand, then walked over to Nikki. Sadly, she has already fallen asleep, but how could one sleep with such a ruckus? Hatori already left, not wanting to get in the way of Katy and Kyo arguing, or else that would make matters worse. Katy also left the room to leave Nikki and Kyo in privacy. He placed his hand on Nikki's left cheek, then leaned over and pecked a kiss on her right cheek. "I love you Nikki, goodnight." He walked away repeating those first three words he whispered in her ear, I love you. But how could Nikki love him, if she didn't know the real him. But did he want to do this for the one he treasures the most, could this break her heart. The last thing he wants to happen to Nikki is her heart breaking again. First her biological parents, then the death of her adopted mother caused by Akito. He violently shook his head. No. It will never happen, she can't bare to be in deep misery again, he can't tell her this now, not yet.

So yeah. I don't actually have anything to say so yeah. (You: Omg Nikki-Chan that's not normal, you always have something to say, even if it's ten pages long!) Yes yes my dear reader, I know, but I finally figured out what to say. (You: Yay!) And that is, I love writing in third person!!!! It's awesome. Yeah so um bye, until the next chapter of The Second Cat!
