~Chapter 4: The Package and Talk With Foxy~
*Isabella's POV*
I still sat in my room after an hour and I didn't want to leave to show my father I was crying. I haven't cried since Elizabeth died and I couldn't bring myself to cry when and after Michael left.
I just let the tears fall onto my clothes and arms. 'Why am I crying anyways? I mean, they won't get scrapped, right? Just...set aside. Right?' I hoped. I mean, if I were going to be a night guard, I'd work there as well, so I could still see them. Hopefully.
I mean, they're the first friends I've had in a long time. My eyes widened in realization. They...looked like...I felt like a lot of weight had been put on my shoulders all at once. I stared at my hands and cried more.
'How did I not realize it sooner?!' I thought, hating myself for it. I knew my friends for a long time and I couldn't even realize it sooner.
I started getting frustrated at myself and I unconsciously grabbed the closest thing, which happened to be a hard covered book and I threw it at my dresser. A picture fell and shattered, startling me. I got off of my bed and walked over to it and I saw that the frame was completely broken.
It was a picture of my friends with me in the middle next to Felix and I felt more of my tears well up in my eyes.
After I finished crying, I was in the closet and I kept a hold of the picture of my friends. I didn't know why, but dark places always helped me calm down when I was as upset as I was. I stayed in my closet for a little while and I sighed to help calm a bit.
I left the closet and then I saw my puppet sitting against my nightstand and he was completely limp. I walked over and picked him up. It was a puppet that Brandon had gotten me when I was five. I sat on my bed holding my puppet and stared at it.
I heard a knock on my door and Snowflake barking. I sighed before standing up and heading to the front door. Dad was at work by now and I opened the door to see a man around my age and one of my friends I made a year ago...well, at least we used to be friends.
My friend was a female blonde and her eyes were blue. She was a fanatic with fashion and always tried to get me into fashion but it never worked so I kinda ended up 'fogetting' to text her back after every post on Facebook when she expects an opinion.
In all honesty, I didn't get fashion. I just wore whatever fit. Like, a white t-shirt and blue denim skinny jeans. I didn't particularly find any interest in wearing anything special. I especially hated dresses. There would only be few occasions that I would wear dresses.
I sighed. "Hey, Sarah. Who's with you?" I asked looking at the boy that was next to her. He looked a lot like the boy that accidentally ran into me while I was walking Snowflake yesterday.
"Oh, this is my boyfriend, Mike. I heard that he accidentally ran into you so I came to check on you." Sarah said and she smiled. "Have you not seen last weeks post on Instagram?" I shook my head.
"No, I don't use Instagram or Snapchat. I use Facebook and that's it." I said and she pouted.
"Oh, come on. I gave you Instagram and Snapchat two weeks ago." she said and I sighed.
"Yeah, well, they were taking up space on my phone and I wasn't really using my accounts there so I kinda had to delete them." I said and she smiled.
"That's okay. Anyways, can we come on in? Mikey here kinda wanted to visit you anyways." She stated, hugging his arm and I sighed, before opening the door open.
"Fine, you can come in as long as you don't make a mess. I don't want my dad coming home to me cleaning." I said and she nodded as they both came in. Snowflake came around the corner and I rushed in front of the startled Mike and Sarah. "Snow, it's all right. They're guests, so no biting. Got it?" I said, sternly and she looked at me, then back to the other two.
"You have a husky?" Sarah asked and I smiled.
"Yup. Her name's Snowflake. She usually bites people if me or my dad don't tell her they're guests so she's kinda protective otherwise." I said, looking at a slightly scared Mike.
"Then, how come she didn't bite me before?" I chuckled.
"Well, she would've. If it wasn't public. Not to mention, she probably saw my dad coming." I said, petting her head. I stood up, letting Snowflake go. "Come on, Snow. Let's get you one of your toys." Snowflake looked at me and barked once and followed me upstairs. "Oh, and-" I stopped halfway up the stairs. "The chocolate and toast in the kitchen are off-limits. Other than that, just relax for a bit." I said, before I continued up the stairs after Snowflake.
We got to Snowflake's room and she was up on her twin sized bed in the middle of the room. It used to be Elizabeth's room and Michael and Brandon's room, we kept as guest rooms in case we had any overnight visitors.
*Mike's POV*
I was looking around the living room with Sarah. "Her and her father seem to really be simple, huh?" I said Sarah nodded.
"Yup. Not surprising. She hardly wore anything fashiony. So, it doesn't make me surprised. I even heard that she works as a night guard at Freddy Fazbear's." Sarah said, before sitting on the couch.
"Freddy Fazbear's?" Sarah nodded.
"Isabella's not exactly social with many people so she just took the night guard job since not many people applied for it at the time." I said and I sat next to her.
"How long has she been anti-social?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Don't know. But, from the rumors I heard as a kid in my school, she was a real creep. She was considered a 'demon's marked child' according to the Christian children. I never understood why. But I kinda kept myself away from her. I mean, she never liked being the center of attention."
"Oh. Why are you friends with her then? Just out of curiousity." I asked and she shrugged.
"Just seemed like she needed someone to talk to." Sarah said and I stood up.
"Want something to eat?" I asked and she thought for a second.
"Sure." she said before standing up and we both went to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and saw a package of something on the bottom shelf. I took it out and stared at it. "What is it?" Sarah asked coming over next to me.
"What do you think it is?" I asked and she had a thoughtful look.
"Well, she mentioned chocolate was off-limits and this package is still wrapped and in the fridge, so my guess could only be that it's a Valentine's Day present to someone." She said and I rose a brow.
"But, Valentine's Day is two weeks from now. You think she has a boyfriend?" she scoffed.
"I doubt it. Besides, if she had a boyfriend, she would've told me." she said and a voice sounded from outside the kitchen.
"What do you two think you're doing?" we both looked to see Isabella at the entrance of the kitchen.
"We were just looking." I said and she looked at the box in my hand.
"Where did you get that?" She asked and we both looked at the box.
"I-It was just in the fridge. We were looking around for something to eat." She stared at the box before looking up at us again.
"Put it back and figure out something else." She said and I put the box back. She left the kitchen and I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. We were confused since they should've been going up the stairs.
"What the-?" Sarah said and Isabella appeared at the entrance like nothing happened.
"Hey guys. I'm back down." She noticed our expressions and was confused. "Why are you guys looking at me like that?" She asked and we both snapped out of it.
"Oh, um...no reason." Sarah said and Isabella sighed.
"I know those looks and that's not no reason. Trust me. Been there, done that. So, what's wrong?" she asks and Sarah and I looked at each other. "You two can explain in the living room. I'll make PB & J's." she said and we both nodded before we went to sit on the couch.
*Isabella's POV*
I made the three sandwiches and went to the living room with a tray holding three plates that held the sandwiches.
I sat down in a chair across the table and set the tray down. "So, what happened?" I asked and the two looked at each other.
"You probably wouldn't believe us." Mike said and I shrugged.
"Try me." I said and Mike sighed.
"All right. So, me and Sarah were trying to look for something to eat in the kitchen and I looked in the fridge and saw a package. We thought it was something for Valentine's Day and then you came down and asked us what we were doing. We told you the truth and then you told us to put it back and we did. Exactly how it was before we grabbed it. Then, you came down and acted like nothing happened."
"I was upstairs with Snowflake the whole time." I said, confused. I sighed. "Do you guys want to know a story?" I asked and they looked at each other, before nodding.
"Sure, I guess." Sarah answered and I bit the inside of my lip.
"Okay. A family of five lived here. A father, two sons, and two daughters. The mother passed after the youngest was born. The father did his best to raise the four children. The eldest son hated children. The other three were always acting it. But there was a problem. The younger son was scared of yellow animatronics. So, because of this fear, the eldest bullied him. One day, on the younger son's birthday, the eldest son threw the younger son into the mouth of a yellow bear animatronic."
"Did the younger son get out of the mouth?" Sarah asked and I looked at her.
"No. The opposite. He was stuck and since the yellow bear was in the process of singing to entertain children or whatever, the boy's skull got crushed, killing him. The eldest cried because he killed his own brother without meaning to."
"And the father?" Mike asked and I stared at the ground.
"He yelled at the eldest and...the youngest child cried while the now only middle child tried to comfort her the best she could. Of course, they held a funeral the next night. After that, the only family left was the eldest son, and the daughters." I said, sighing.
"What happened to the family after that?"
"The father created new animatronics to entertain children. The animatronics were known as Circus Baby, Ballora, Funtime Freddy, and BonBon. BonBon was a part of Funtime Freddy's arm. The eldest daughter had the most interest in Circus Baby rather than the others. She wanted to walk up and play with her. But, her father wouldn't allow it. Eventually, when he wasn't looking, she walked up to Circus Baby and Circus Baby dispensed ice cream for the first time. When the eldest daughter got close enough...Circus Baby killed her but her own screams were covered by the excitement of the other children in the room."
Mike and Sarah's eyes widened. "She disobeyed her own father?"
"She was too curious. She had to sneak away just to get a chance to play with her without her father interfering." I explained and I sighed. "The youngest was affected most by it. Even more than the father. The eldest son made a promise to the father then left. Leaving the father to take care of the daughter. That's just the family story. The things for the youngest were still rough on her not matter how long it's been."
"What were the names of the family?" Mike asked and I hesitated.
"The names..."I stared at the ground. "Oldest to youngest was Michael, Elizabeth, Brandon, and...Isabella." I said and I looked at the two. "The father kept his name a secret from his children." I said and they both frowned. "Anyways, that's all I can tell you about the story." I stood up and headed towards the kitchen.
"Wait!" Mike exclaimed and I stopped. "The youngest daughter...that was you, wasn't it?" I froze and frowned.
"..." I kept quiet for a full two minutes. "...yes." I said, hesitantly. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed opened the freezer and I grabbed a couple Hershey's. One cookies and cream, one walnut or was almond?, then one plain chocolate. I then headed back out to the living room. "Why were you wanting to know that?"
"You're name's were alike. And you're expression made it seem like you didn't want to tell the story."
"I don't like talking about death unless it's near Halloween." I said simply and I checked the time. 10:57. "Shit...you two better leave. I have to get ready for work and my dad's coming home at 11 o'clock so you two only have three minutes to leave. He doesn't exactly appreciate unexpected guests. Especially you, Mike cause of what happened yesterday." I said and I rushed them both to the front door. At least, before it opened on it's own. I sighed as Dad came in.
"Hey, Bells. I'm ho-" Dad said, before noticing that Mike and Sarah were in the house with me behind them. "What is he doing here?" Dad asked, crossing his arms.
"Oh, great." I muttered, lowering my head. "Dad, don't attack." I said, passing by them. "They just came to apologize for yesterday." I said, crossing my own arms.
"Really?" Dad asked, glaring at them...well, mostly at Mike. I sighed and co eres my eyes with my hand.
"Yes. So, you can stop glaring at Mike. They were just leaving." I said before taking my dad by his shoulders and gently pushed him aside. "Now, you two better leave now." I let go of my father and started pushing Mike and Sarah out the door. After I closed it, I sighed. "Sorry about that, dad. They kinda came unexpected while you were gone." I said, looking at him.
"It's fine. Just don't have that kind of thing happen again, okay?" He said and I smiled.
"It's fine, Dad. They were taking a small visit to apologize for yesterday." I said, before heading back to the living room with Dad.
"All right. As long as they only did that then left."
"Why do you hate others that much?" I asked and Dad sighed.
"I guess I'm just....I'm just protective of you, Bella. Also, I uh...I figured that I'd go ahead and give you something." Dad said, before heading to the kitchen.
When he came back out, he held a package. It was wrapped with red wrapping and I took off the wrapping to see a brown box. I rose a brow then looked at my father. He shrugged. "Precaution." he said and I smiled with a chuckle, before opening it to see some chocholates. I smiled.
"Chocolates? That's what was in here?" I asked and he sighed.
"Well, with knowing that chocolates help cheer you up, I was going to give them to you after I told you about the new building plans. Cause I knew that you wouldn't want the animatronics to end up in the scrap heap and I knew you'd be disappointed about that." Dad said and I frowned a bit.
"I understand, Dad. I was just upset that you didn't tell me sooner mostly. I just...have one request." I said and he looked at me.
"What is it?"
"Don't throw them away. I mean, I really grew attached to them over time." I said and Dad smiled.
"Of course. I promise that." I smiled, before I gave him a side hug and he hugged back.
"I have to go now." I said, before I started gathering the things I needed for my job and he smiled some more.
"All right. Go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
"See ya later, Dad." I said, leaving the house. I definatly remembered the chocolates. I mean, it'd be pretty hard not to, especially for me.
After I got back to work and had some small talk with the manager about being late by two minutes, I went inside and made sure the place was empty in every nook and cranny.
I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be anyone in Pirate's Cove otherwise Foxy would've thrown them out by now or something. Either way, no one would probably go into the Pirate's Cove unless they most likely either had a death wish or they would've just been thrown back out. Anyways, after my proof check, I smiled and went out to the stage.
"It's safe, guys." I said and Chica, Bonnie, and Freddy went into.their human forms.
"Finally! Why were you late? It's kinda difficult to have to keep the same position for I don't know how long." Bonnie said and I giggled.
"Sorry guys. I wasn't paying attention to the time, exactly." I said, a bit nervously with a smile. "So, is Foxy still in the Pirate Cove? I just want to make sure in case he might've moved while I was proof checking the place." Freddy shook his head.
"No. He's still in there. Lazy-bum for a pirate." Freddy muttered the last part and I rolled my eyes a bit with a smile.
"I heard that last part, Freddy. I'll go get him." I said, before heading towards Pirate's Cove.
"Careful, Bella!" Chica and Bonnie called and I looked behind me to see both waving at me. I smiled a bit AndI got to the curtains of Pirate's Cove. I opened the curtain and went inside.
"Foxy? Are you in here?" I asked and I was surprised that nothing behind the curtains of Pirate's Cove changed at all.
Three barrels sat at the left side of the stage and at the back of Pirate's Cove was card board ocean waves and it looked like the daytime sky in the back. On the right side of the stage, it was the bow of a pirate ship. There was enough space in the middle though to walk. Foxy wasn't on the barrels or standing in the middle of the stage like I would've expected.
I stepped back a bit and plotted a way to the top the ship, since he would probably be up there and he hasn't left Pirate's Cove. I then looked at the barrels and I smirked before picking each one up and stacked two while leaving one on the side of the two. Of course, I was able to get to the top.
"Congrats, lass." I looked at Foxy who was in his human form, sitting against the back of the bow of the ship. I smiled.
"Why did you make have to do that?" He chuckled a bit.
"I didn't make ye. Ye did it yerself." I smiled a bit more and laughed.
"I guess so. Anyways, are you coming out?" I asked and he looked at his purple star-patterned curtains.
"Eh, maybe in a minute, lass." I blinked before smiling and sitting at the edge of the ship.
"I think I'll stay for a bit, too." I said and he looked at me, confused.
"Why? Don't ye have paperwork in the office right now?" He asked and I smiled.
"Well, no actually. The paperwork is actually supposed to be my dad's. He just forgets some of it sometimes so I finish it then file it." I said and he smiled.
"So, why are ye staying anyways?" he asked and I looked at him.
"Why not? I mean, not everyone wants to be alone and with you being here and not really coming out at all, I thought you could use some company." I said, smiling. I think he blushed a bit but with how dark it was, I couldn't tell. I smiled and stared at the ground, before sighing. "Foxy, can...can I ask you something?" he stared at me curiously.
"What is it?"
"Were everyone here right now...alive...before?" The question shocked him although I was completely hesitant about it. His ears lowered and he frowned, before looking at the ground. I immediately felt guilty about asking the question but with how he reacted, I was sure it was a yes.
I stood up and walked over to him and I hugged him. He was a bit taken back by it and his tail twitched. I felt a tear fall from my eye and it fell down my face before hitting onto his shoulder. "I'm glad I finally found you...Felix." I said, smiling and he seemed completely shocked.
"Bella...h-how did you..." I pulled away with a smile.
"I figured it out earlier. After I saw everyone's human forms and I was back home, I saw a picture of everyone from when we were children. It didn't occur to me until then. I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner." I apologized, before frowning. He had a completely shocked look still but then he relaxed and it was his turn to hug me. I immediately smiled again and I hugged him back.
"It's all right. I'm just glad you're here." He said and I felt a tear on my own shoulder. I hugged him a bit tighter and I didn't want to let go. He was actually pretty warm. I wanted to stay like this for the rest of the night at the least. At the most, forever.
I rested my eyes and I relaxed completely. It was like there was no part of me that was tense at all. I didn't know why I was feeling all these feelings. I mean, I've felt them with him before and the feelings seemed to only rise when I was around him. I didn't get why but I wanted it to last.
Foxy pulled away and I did as well. He started to lean in and I blushed a dark red and I ended up leaning in as well. I didn't know what I was doing.
At least until the the curtain opened and we both quickly pulled away with dark blushes and we looked to see Chica. I blushed more and looked away, shyly while fidgitting my thumbs together nervously.
"You two doing okay?" Chica asked and Foxy sighed.
"Y-Yeah, lass. W-We'll be down in a few."
'That was extremely close! And embarrassing with when Chica came in.' I thought and I kept staring at the ground. 'I mean, if she saw me and Foxy kissing, that would've been the most embarrassing thing I've done.' I thought, with my heart racing almost faster than a jackhammer.
"Okay, make it quick. I'm kinda hoping that Bella can help me make some pizza again tonight. Bonnie and Freddy seemed to enjoy it the last night." Chica said and Foxy smiled a bit.
"All right. Just go ahead and give us a minute." he said and Chica probably nodded before leaving. I sighed and a hand was held down to me and I looked up to see Foxy. "Come on, lass. We better get goin' before there's another interruption." Foxy said and I smiled and nodded, taking his hand. He helped me up and we headed out of Pirate's Cove.
