A/N: Lmao I'm so sorry but this girl died for a solid week and the rest of the month was a roller coaster! BUT GOOD NEWSS!!!!!! I'll being making a third book for this series!!!!! I know I know, drama but hey, I couldn't help it :P You'll understand in a few chapters ;P things are only getting started. ANYWHOOO ON WITH THY STORY!!!
I got up early to avoid Max's parents and shower. I got in the shower and let the hot water pellets hit my skin all over. I bent over a bit and winced a bit from the pain. That position killed my hips.
After I finished, I slowly get out of the shower and head back to room to see Max still asleep. A smile came to my face and I brush my lips on his. "I love you." I whisper under my breath.
I slip on some clean jeans and a T-shirt and head downstairs. The TV was on and you could hear the food sizzling on the stove.
Fuck . . .
I walk through the kitchen and see Max's mom cooking happily. Her smile dropped seeing me and I remained silent as I walked through the kitchen. Just as I got through, she muttered, "Why does he love someone like you?"
I turn around and smile at her. "How was listening to our sex last night? Your son was all over me last night and we didn't stop until 1 am." I step over to her and she glared at me.
"Why can't Max see he's being used?" She snapped at me.
"He's the one that keeps coming after me. I don't stop him because it's his choice." I retort and she rolled her eyes.
"Do you even love him?!" Tears were filling her eyes. "Do you even care that you destroyed a family?! He gave up so much for you and you stand there and act like he's nothing to you!" I look her in her brown eyes.
"I do love him." My phone buzzed and I needed to answer because it was most likely Mark. "He fucked me over more than once and I've done the same. But our relationship is strong."
With that, I head outside and quickly light a cigarette. I check my phone only to see a notification from Kristina. I call her and listen to the phone ringing as I smoked. "Hello?" Her timid voice questioned quietly.
"Hey, it's Jason." I say and she mumbled, "Give me one second." There was some movement on her side before she said, "Okay, I can talk now."
"Sorry, did I call at a bad time?" I ask.
"N-no! My boyfriend was asleep and I didn't want to wake him up. Um . . . So how have you been?" She asked.
"Good. You?" I ask, blowing the grey smoke out. Kristina didn't answer. "Kristina?"
"Yeah?"
I lick my lips, knowing she avoided the question. "Why did you want to talk?" I ask, tapping the ashes off the cigarette.
"You're in New York right?" She asked a bit breathless.
"Not at the moment. I'll be back in New York Monday morning."
"If it's okay . . . Can we meet up for dinner in New York? I'm on a business trip in New York at the moment." Kristina said and I smile, smoking.
"Yeah, that would be nice. How about Thursday night?"
"Works for me- I have to go. Bye." She ended the call immediately and I look at my phone before shrugging my shoulder and putting my phone back into my pocket.
Something isn't sitting right with me about her. I want to trust her-
"Morning, Jason." Max whispered into my ear and kissed it.
"Morning." I respond back and kiss his cheek. Putting on a fake smile, I smash my cigarette and slip my arms around Max's neck.
"You know I love you right?" Max asked lowly, sliding his hands around my waist. I nod my head and he captured my lips. I kiss back slowly.
"Breakfast is ready." His mom said loudly. We look at her and she just glared at me.
"Hungry?"
I shake my head. "No."
"Why not? You barely eat dinner last night and we went all night long." Max whispered into my ear and kissed it, sliding his hand all over my stomach.
"Just not hungry." I state and he nodded his head.
"Okay. Make sure you eat before we go to church." Max said and I smirk.
"I will- Wait what?" I quiz.
Max sighed and rubbed his neck. "My parents go to church and when I visit, they make me go along." Max explained.
"No way. I haven't been in a church in years." I dismiss.
"Jason, do it for me. You don't even have to listen." Max begged and I groan.
"You better make it more bearable." I say and kiss his cheek, smirking. "I'll go but you damn well better give me something in return." I bite his ear lobe and Max yanked me closer by my waist.
"Don't work me up." He whispered and I grin, kissing him again before heading inside. I went upstairs while he went to the dining room.
I change into more church like clothes and start heading downstairs to eat as well. "I heard him, Max!" His mom shouted. "He's cheating on you!!"
"No he's not!! We both cheated on each other in the past but we got through it! I love Jason, and I'm going to trust my boyfriend. You guys just want us to break up!" Max shouted back.
I sigh, listening to them argue. Looks like I got a bit careless.
"He's going to meet Thursday night!!"
"He's a lawyer!! It's normal!"
"Is it normal to flirt with a client?!" She yelled. I sigh and step out and they all looked at me. "Speak of the damn devil." She hissed.
I give her a fake smile. "Jason, are you meeting someone Thursday night?" Max ask immediately. I look at his mom who was betting on me to lie.
"Yeah I am." I answer.
"Why?" Max asked, coming closer.
"Old friend from high school. She's on a business trip in New York and just wants to catch up. She's already dating someone."
Max smirked at his parents. "Told you he wasn't cheating."
"He's a liar!"
I cross my arms with a raise of my eyebrow. "And tell me what part did I lie about?" I retort and she glared at me.
"Fine. Max go get ready for church." She snarled and left.
Max sighed and stood up. "I'll be back." Max said. Max walked upstairs in annoyance and I look at his dad.
"Sit." He ordered and I sink into the farthest seat. "I don't like you at all." He said.
"I don't care." I reply back.
"You're shameless, rude, cunning, and insensitive!"
I rest my chin on my fist. "Tell me something I don't know. All of my ex's have said the same thing."
Besides Damien.
His eyes were dark as he looked me in the eyes for the first time I've been here. "For some reason, Max loves you a lot." I remained silent at that. "My wife is furious at your guys relationship."
"I didn't notice at all." I say sarcastically.
"Just treat him right okay? He's gave up a great future for you." He said and left.
I run a hand through my hair and groan. "I just want to go." I say quietly.

We walked inside the church and I huff, shoving my hands into my pockets. Max's parents were talking to themselves while Max and I walked behind them. "I'm gonna kill you." I mutter to Max and he slid an arm around my waist.
"Thank you for putting up with this." He said and I shrug my shoulders. I heard a scuffs of disapproval from behind us and I glance behind us to see from group of old ladies with looks of disgust and disappointment.
I stop Max and kiss him fully, sliding my hand into his hair with a soft groan. When Max started to kiss me back, I pulled away and winked at the ladies before walking again.
Piss off and die already.
Max was confused as we walked into the muggy building already filled with families. I haven't been in a church since middle school. We all sat down and waited for the service to start. Max's mom was mumbling stuff to her husband and Max was holding my hand. A sigh escaped me when the service started.
An hour in and I was craving a cigarette. "Max, do you think I can step out and smoke?" I mutter under my breath and he glanced at me.
"Uh . . . Maybe? But my parents are going to say something about the smoke smell." Max whispered.
"Then come with me for a second." I stand up and walk down the aisle to the bathroom.
Max was following and we got in the bathroom and locked the door. Max grinned at me and caught my lips in a hard kiss. My arms slid around his neck as I kissed him back. He picked me up and placed me on the sink counter, still kissing me. "God, I love you." Max whispered against my lips and I snicker.
"Saying the Lord's name in vain." I retort and Max groped me, kissing my neck.
"You'll be saying it next." Max growled into my ear while he undid my pants. His hand gripped my dick and started to slowly stroke me as his tongue was tangled with mine. A moan escaped from my grasp as he started to stroke harder and faster.
One hand dug into his hair, kissing Max harder. "Fuck, I'm gonna cum." I whisper against his lips. He smirked and kissed on my neck, stroking me faster. Biting my lip, a weak moan came out as I came. Max reached over and grabbed some paper towel to wipe it off his hand. I fixed my jeans and kiss Max slowly.
Max grinned, kissing me back with his hands on my ass. "You know I love you right?" Max quizzes against my lips. A smirk came on my lips and I slide my arms around his neck.
"Yeah, I do. I love you too." Max smiled and pecked my lips briefly before we left the bathroom. We sat back down next to his parents. His mom glanced at me before sighing and listening back to the pastor. Max places his hand on my thigh and I zone out until the service was over.
We all got up and started to walk out. "Where did you two go?" His mom asked in a hard tone.
"Bathroom." I reply and light a cigarette, sighing in content. Damn I needed this. I casually smoke as his mom was frowning.
"Doing what? You were gone for ten minutes." She snapped at me.
"Stuff." I reply.
Her eyes widened. "You did that in a church?! You should be ashamed of yourself." She hissed at me. I sighed annoyed. We piled into the car and I put out my cigarette before getting in.
We got back about 2 P.M. and Max sat on the couch immediately with a groan. His parents went out to grab stuff I think. I walk over to him. He smiled at me and pulled me by my waist. I slip onto his waist and sit. "I'll always love you. My parents can't change how I feel about you." Max said and kissed me.
I kiss back and pull back with a lip bite. "I love you too." I say and Max pulled me closer. I wrap my arms around him and we just sat there in silence.
Max push me to the side and kissed me softly. "I'm gonna take a nap. My parents drained me completely." Max said and I nod my head.
"I don't blame you. Get some sleep, Max." He got up and pecked my lips. "Love you."
"Love you too." He went to the room and I sigh.

My eyes locked onto the restaurant Kristina and I agreed on. She said she was a few minutes away. I head into the restaurant and look at the hostess. "Hi. How many in the group?" She asked happily.
"Two. I'm waiting on someone else." I respond.
"Can I get a name for the party?"
"Jason Royal."
She started to look at something before saying, "Right this way." She said and I followed her. I sit down at the table and order some wine, drinking.
It was about ten minutes before I heard my name being called. "Jason!"
I turn and see Kristina smiling. I stand up and give her a hug. It didn't look like she was on a business trip to say the least. It was as if she just got out of bed. "It's good to see you."
"Yeah . . . Same here." She replies and sat down.
"I got you water." I say. She grabbed the glass and drank it. I noticed bruising on her wrist and then I looked at her face to see a bruise hidden behind her hair. "What happened?" I ask, drinking.
She tensed up and smile. "Oh, I fell working on my cabinets a few days ago." Kristina said with a smile. "Nothing serious."
"Mm." I look away and sigh.
She's gonna ask for money.
"You said you're lawyer right?" She asked and I nod my head.
"Yeah. I run my own company." I reply.
"Do you live near here?" She asked.
Furrowing my eyebrows, I say, "Why do you want to know that?" She looked down.
"Can we go somewhere more private?" She asked.
I look at her up and down before sighing. "Fine. We can go to my house." She gave me a weak smile and I drove us to my house.
Unlocking the door, she stepped in and her phone went off for the third time. "Aren't you gonna answer?" I ask, closing the door.
"O-oh it's no one important." Kristina said and declined the call.
"Alright then I'll get straight to it. Why do you want to know where I lived so badly?" I ask in a hard tone.
Kristina avoided my eyes before pulling her hair behind her ear, showing more of the bruise. It was a lot bigger than I thought. "I have an abusive boyfriend . . . I have a son and I don't want him to be hurt by my boyfriend. Please Jason. If I need to protect my son or his life is in danger, can I please bring him here? At least here I know he'll be safe." Kristina begged with tears growing.
"Kristina- I don't think-"
"Please Jason! I don't want money, I don't want your house. I just want to have a safe place for my son to grow up. A place that'll protect him." I look at her teary face and run a hand through my hair.
Fuck. I get that she wants a safe place for her kid but why me? I already have Abigail and Max. "Please . . . " She cried.
God damn it.
"Fine. I'll do it."
She looked up at me and smiled. "Really?"
"Yeah."
She hugged me tightly, crying. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." She choked out. I hug her back and sigh.
"Jason?" I look over to see Max coming out of Abigail's room with her. I sigh and mouth, "Later."
After I calmed Kristina down and took her back to her hotel, I went back home and saw Max watching TV. "Hey." I say.
"Hey." He responded and I sit next to him. Silence engulfed us.
A sigh escaped me and say, "It wasn't what it looked like."
