Chapter 6: Always Nakama Part 2

Yue (4 hours later)

"Welcome back to the land of the living!" Penguin exclaims while giving me a slap on the back.

"It's awesome to be back," I smiled as I'm handed a glass of tea. After three hours of sleeping due to crying so much, I got dressed and spent the next hour in the library studying and practicing shifting. I just needed to get my mind off the incident that happened earlier today. Maybe I pushed a little too hard on Law. Speaking of which. . .

"Hey Penguin, have you seen Law?" I asked, for I saw him going towards the captain before I slammed my door. "I need to apologize for earlier today."

"Last I knew, he went to his room to rest," my crewmate replied. "I think he hit his head on the wall when you threw that pillow at him." Oh Lordy, I really need to restrain my strength.

"Thanks," I smiled before finishing my tea and heading towards that direction. But before I stepped out, Tyrell, the cook of the crew, stopped me. I gave him a questioning look before he sighs heavily.

"If you're going to see the captian," Tyrell begins, "be careful. Some of the stock of booze's missing, and it's a possibility that it's in his room."

"Why would the captain have booze in his room?" I asked, for Law wasn't one to drink alchohol much.

"You'll find out soon enough," was Tyrell's reply before he gets out if the way. Then I quickly got on my way to Law's room. When I get there, I noticed a slight dent on the left side of the door. I lean closer to the dent to see that the dent was made by a fist. Wow, I really must've pushed him too far.

"Law?" I knocked on the door. "Law, please open up." I tried to open the door only to find it locked.

"Law, you need to-" I was then cut off by a sound of something falling and then breaking. I quickly went hybrid form and went to picking the lock with a bobby pin from my hair and my index and thumb claws. Hey, when I gotta use the claws for something besides mauling and slashing, I gotta use them. When I get the lock undone, I fling open the door to something that sends my tail into a fluff of shock.

Law was lying on his side surrounded by booze bottles, which now I know why Tyrell warned me to be careful. But what alarmed me the most is that Law's head and right arm was bleeding enough for the blood to pool a little bit. I quickly but carefully get Law off from the floor to find broken glass, which led me to assume that he fell off the bed and onto a few bottles. I use my tail to pick up some towels that were knocked onto the floor and spreading them on the bed before placing the injured captain on them. I then shift back and dig my den den mushi out of my jacket pocket to call Penguin since he knows about what happened earlier.

"Penguin speaking," the snail copies my crewmate's voice and facial expression when he picks up.

"This is Yue," I replied, "Can you do me a favor and come down here with a med kit? The captain had an accident."

"Yeah, on my way," he replies before hanging up. After putting away the snail and taking off my jacket, I went into the bathroom to get a few hand towels. As soon as I get them damp, I walk out to clean out Law's injuries. I carefully wipe the blood off his face before putting a small medical patch on his temple from where he hit his head on a bottle. After that I went to remove his hoodie to check if there was any glass that went through it. Unfortunately, when I get the hoodie off, there were a few small pieces that are in Law's side from where he landed on the bottles. But at least the glass shards didn't go in and mess up Law's tattoos though.

"What a mess," Someone whistles out. I turn my head to see Shachi at the door with the med kit I asked for.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked. "Where's Penguin?"

"He actually has to be in charge since the captain had an accident earlier before this one," he answers as he sets the kit beside the bed. "He also said something about a possible concussion that he's got." Then as if he heard everything, Law begins to stir. I put pressure on a nerve that was on his shoulder to keep him from moving too much. When he becomes still, I took the pressure off.

"Y-Yue-ya?" he groans out. I place a hand on his forehead to feel it burning.

"He's burning up," I murmured out. "We've got to get him fixed up."

"You're the doc now Yue," Shachi smiles as he opens the med kit. I take one of the damp towels and place it on Law's head to try and lower the fever.

"You're going to be okay, Captain," I softly tell him. "Just keep fighting and don't let go." I gently take his left hand and discovered that he indeed punched the wall, for it was slightly swollen with the two center knuckles dislocated.

"Hey Shachi, is there any aesthetics in the kit?" I asked my crewmate. He responds by taking a med bottle, syringe, and a needle out. I take all three and put the needle on the syringe before taking the safety off of it.

"You know how much to give out, right?" Shachi asks when I stick the needle in the bottle.

"Do you know how many surgeries I watched to learn some stuff?" I replied as I get the required dosage into the syringe. Shachi just shakes his head after I get it injected into Law's arm. The captain relaxes with a deep breath when I remove and dispose the needle. I then take injured hand and with a few painless pops, I get the knuckles back in place. But for safety measures I get some bandages from the kit and wrap the hand to prevent the knuckles from dislocating again. When I get done, Law's hand takes ahold of my left hand and squeezes it.

"Y-Yue-ya," Law groans again. "I'm . . . sorry about earlier. I knew. . . better than. . . to keep to myself. . . " I could tell that the aesthesia was working into his system due to him struggling to keep awake and to the long pauses in his apology. I place my other hand on top of his bandaged left after I took a seat on a stool without letting go.

"The fault's really mine Law," I replied. "I should've waited until you were ready to tell me. Plus I knew better than to throw a pillow at you hard enough to give you a concussion." Law cracks a smirk at the last remark before flinching in pain as Shachi starts to remove the glass shards out of his side.

"Don't worry, Law," I start to assure him, "I'll be right here when you wake up."

"Arigato," Law slowly whispers out to me before giving into the drug and falling asleep.

"You and the captain sure do get along," Shachi comments when he gets another piece out of Law's side. "Was it love at first sight, or a desperate request?"

"I see him as an elder brother than as a lover and you knew that from the moment I joined, you dork," I playfully slap him on the back with my tail after going neko form to get another damp towel. "Besides, when it comes to nakama, it's always nakama until the end."

"I see," Shachi smiles. "So are you really going to watch the captain until he gets better?"

"I have to," I replied while placing the towel across Law's forehead after disposing the one before. "Because he and I have a lot of explaining to do on what happened earlier."
