Chapter 19: Lost Fight

Yue (Four Weeks Later)

"Stop encouraging him, we said no more!" a woman in a medical uniform yells in annoyance. I laughed with my crewmates as Pops' nurses try to keep the old man from drinking any more booze. Tonight was the usual for the Whitebeard Pirates: Eating, drinking, playing bets. . . . You know, just having a good time as a pirate should be doing while sailing the Seas. It's been a long four weeks since my conversation with Jishin. Since then, there was no sign of the person who wants the Yami Yami No Mi for themselves. I even gave the other Devils a heads up about it in case if I need their help going against this person.

"I'll be right back!" I shouted at Marco before leaving the dining room to get some fresh air. Apparently these band of misfits sure know have a good time.

"Starting to be too much in there, Yue?" I jump at the sound of Thatch's voice after closing the door.

"Just thought to get some fresh air," I chuckled. Ever since I met the Fourth Division Commander, we became really close friends. When I told him about the Sea Devil Trinity, he completely understood and helped Ace on helping me to control my abilities as a Trinity Member.

"Oi, Earth to Yue!" Thatch waves a hand in my face when I zone out.

"Sorry, spaced out," I say with embarrassment. "You were saying?"

"I was talking about the Devil Fruit I have, the Yami Yami No Mi?" Thatch raises an eyebrow at me. "I want you to take a look at it to see if it's really it."

"Well why didn't you say so, let's go!" I playfully punch the Commander's shoulder, making him chuckle.

"We don't have to go very far," Thatch turns around to pick up a small chest before carrying it to the staircase. He then sets it on the staircase while getting a key out of his pocket. As he goes and unlocks the chest, I can feel Jishin's presence in the air as well as the others. Finally, Thatch opens the lid, revealing a light violet Devil Fruit. It would've looked like a pineapple if it weren't for the uneven spikes and the swirls decorating the surface.

That's it. . . . the Yami Yami No Mi, Jishin growls menacingly. The prison of Kurai.

"Are you okay Yue?" Thatch asks nervously. "You look really tense."

"Yeah, I'm fine," I shake my head, feeling my Devil's anger with Jishin's emotions. "Thank you for showing me."

"So this is the Yami Yami No Mi?" the Commander asks.

"Yep," I nodded. "I understand that you wanted to eat it, but the Devil inside this Fruit would be too dangerous to control."

"I kind of got that part when you were talking about him," Thatch smiles. "Which is why I'm giving it to you without a fight."

That easy? Man, I really need to work on social skills, Unten says quietly.

Just to give you a heads up, someone else is coming out from the party, I suddenly hear the Bear Devil Guma. And something tells me he's up to no good.

"Thatch, my good man!" Thatch turns to see a man walking towards us. He has long black hair under a green bandanna. As he smiles, he has some teeth missing.

That's Marshall D. Teach, Guma suddenly says. He's in Ace's division if I remember correctly.

"Getting some fresh air, Teach?" Thatch asks.

"Sure, if you want to say that," Teach chuckles. But the way he said that was really suspicious.

Run with the Fruit, Yue! Jishin suddenly shouts in terror. He's the one that's after the Yami Yami No Mi!

"Make a move or sound, somebody gets hurt," someone pokes a pistol into my back. I then raised my hands in defense right along with the Fourth Division Commander.

"What are you doing, Teach?!" I shouted at the man.

"Nothing, just relieving Thatch of that Devil Fruit he has," Teach cackles as two people get the chest from behind Thatch. "I've been searching for the Yami Yami No Mi for a long time."

"After all this time," Thatch glares at the traitor. "Even when you resigned for Ace to be Second Division Commander, you were still looking for power."

He could've asked for it, Unten says quietly, only to get a scolding from Tora.

"Psst!" My eyes dart up to see Kenji climbing up the rope ladder behind Teach.

Distract him, Kenji's got a plan, Guma says in a rush.

"Why after the Yami Yami No Mi?" I asked, nudging Thatch with a foot to keep quiet. "Besides looking for power, that is."

"Whitebeard can't keep his era forever," Teach explains while opening the chest. "There shall be a new era to arise when the old man's long gone. And so the Yami Yami No Mi is going to help me do that."

"OVER THE CREW'S DEAD BODIES YOU WILL!" Kenji roars, tackling Teach in his bear form. Thatch and I then fought back, hitting out captor senseless.

"Ittoryu Iai: Farukon Sasayaki!" I attack Teach's other two accomplices, using the same technique during the day that I unlocked my demonic form.

"Hey Unten, Tora, time for some fun," I grinned evilly as more accomplices surround me and Thatch.

About time, Neko-chan, I could see Unten's face form into a devilish misfit grin as I let Tora shift my body into the first hybrid form.

"Room," I stretch out a hand, allowing a blue dome to grow big enough to surround the group. I then draw out my unnamed katana, ready to be a violet haired, blue eyed version of my brotherly captain.

  "What the--" SLASH! THWACK!

"KYAAAAH!" half of the accomplices fall into pieces. The after saying one more magic word, all the body parts were attached to different bodies.

"How is she doing this?!" one head yells out.

"Yue, get the chest!" Kenji yells, trying to keep Teach down. I ran and grabbed the lidded box, timing everything perfectly. I then made a run for the dining room only to hear a gun firing off.

"Dammit!" I grunted, falling as pain shoots through my right shin. The last thing I hear is Kenji roaring before something hits my neck, knocking me out completely.

  Kenji

"GRAAAAH!" I roared out, suddenly floating above Teach. I was then thrown against the mast by an unknown force.

"About time you got here," Teach chuckles. He got up and was about to reach for the chest until it floats above the deck before it flies towards a cloaked figure who stood against the west railings.

"Oi, give the box back!" one accomplice says while the other thugs try to piece each other together.

"My services to Teach are no longer required," the figure says calmly, hazel eyes looking over to where Yue lays knocked out before her body glows a faint blue aura and floats over to the figure, as if floating in water. She is then placed down gently on the deck, as if nothing happened to her.

"We have a deal, Shimizu!" Teach says, pulling out a pistol.

"Indeed we did," the person known as Shimizu says calmly. "But I said that I would get both Mikami and the Yami Yami No Mi without making a scene. But since your gang decided to go to a different plan, the deal's off."

"What do you want with Yue?" I ask, turning human while getting to my feet.

"Nothing for now," the figure says. "But I'll be the one taking this thing away from everyone."

"Damn you, Shimizu!" one of the thugs says, firing a bullet at the figure. The cloak then collapses, as if no one was there. The chest was then grabbed by Thatch, who makes a run for to keep the Devil Fruit away from Teach. I fight off any thugs that try to stop him. However, one of the thugs stab at me as a slender girl appears. She looks around before. . . Floating above the deck?

"Terekineshisu: Tōketsu!" she exclaims. The thugs then stop moving, as if they became frozen in time. Even Teach froze right before pulling the trigger.

"How are you doing that?" Thatch asks, amazed by the technique.

"I ate the Kan Kan No Mi, a Devil Fruit that has given me a sixth sense," the girl explains. "I have the telekinesis and telepathy parts down."

"You're still an amateur," a voice says before a dagger buries itself into Thatch's back and goes through his side.

"THAAATCH!" I screamed when my Division Commander collapses.

"No way. . . How?" The girl's face pales at the thug.

"Your pathetic mind tricks don't work when one wears Sea Prism," the thug holds up a wrist wrapped around a dull chain before backhanding the telepath, her control over the spell breaks. The others break free, now aiming their weapons at me. I had no choice but to give up. If only Pops was here. . .

"You cowardly snake," I growled, kneeling beside Thatch. He was bleeding badly, but barely alive.

"Sorry Kenji, no hard feelings," Teach says, taking the Devil Fruit before he and the thugs jump off the ship onto water bikes as they speed off into the darkness.

"Thatch, wake up," I pick up the injured Commander, blood covering my chest and arms. "You have to stay awake."

"I'm so sorry," I looked up to the telepath, tears coming down her face. "I never wanted any of this to happen."

"It's not your fault kid," I say while a few people come outside with a light. "Mistakes always happen."
