THE SEA & THE SUN: Q & A

( QUESTIONS & ANSWERS )

hi!!! it's been like two years since i started this book & it's come a long way. anyways so i wanted to open up this story for questions, so if you have any questions regarding any characters or jill or why i did certain things or anything at all here is where you can ask them! even questions about her mom or her life before or anything else are also welcomed! you can even share headcanons or anything else!! i don't mind if you have your own opinions on things my characters have done in the book! i'll post the answers once at least a few people comment, however, even after those questions are answered, you can still ask questions here and i'll reply to your comment!!

anyways, i just want to say a big thank you to anyone who has stuck around for this book! it took me a while to be okay with letting jill go and now it's here! so enjoy & thank you for supporting this book & me! <3

i. will you make a social media fic for
sophia lillis that parallels to this book?

i was planning on it! i don't know when since i'm not a big fan of social media fics, but i do have a draft ready if people would actually read it. i know a lot of people aren't really in the it fandom anymore, so i'm not sure if people would read it, but like i said, i do have a draft and it's a big possibility that i might write one! (btw the oc's name is florence & she's the complete opposite of jill! they ofc have some similarities but flo is more 🌱🌸🌿🌷🍃 and jill is more 🍁🍂☄️🔥⛓)

ii. will you do another book based on
jill being alive instead of being dead?

trust me, i love jill with all my heart and she'll always be my favorite oc, but i wouldn't write another fic based on her being alive. jill's story came full circle in this book. she grew a lot over just that one summer and she learned to let people love her and let herself love other people, which is why having her die for the losers club, who she loved more than anything in the world, was the best way to end her story. personally, i find it was the only way to end her story since it shows how she became so selfless in the end.

also this was the quote that inspired jill's story in the first place && gave me the idea to end her story the way i did! <333

iii. did richie confess his feelings for eddie?

OKAY SO!!! here's what i believe happened to reddie because of jill's influence on richie. i think after richie saw jill confess her feelings for bev & after all the stories he heard from jill about how she was treated by the derry townspeople, he would have confessed his feelings. i think jill's strength and her persistence to be who she was without apologizing for it inspired him to be himself as well.

in my mind, after jill died, that gave richie a push to engrave his and eddie's initials into the kissing bridge. jill's spirit inspired him to be himself in a lot of ways, so personally, i think because of her, that gave him enough strength to carve their initials into the bridge.

and then later on richie would probably accidentally confess to eddie that he loves him & they'd have like a secret relationship. but obviously, they'd go their own ways and leave derry and soon forget about each other & their relationship just like it is in the canon.

NOW, in my mind (and this is sad i'm so sorry) but they wouldn't remember they had a relationship together (like how beverly didn't remember ben wrote her the letter) until eddie saves richie at the end. i feel like only after eddie is wounded by pennywise would the both of them remember how they felt toward each other/their relationship and they'd both say something that acknowledges that love before eddie dies. I KNOW it's sad but that's how i think it would have played out because of jill's influence.

iv. will you do another book where
jill is alive twenty seven years later?

i know this is kind of like one of the other questions above but it's a little different! so, to answer your question, no, i won't be writing a fic where jill is an adult. i feel like the alternate ending showed how that would turn out.

the it 2019 fic would revolve around jill's drug addiction & her fear of losing the people she loves. pennywise would obviously taunt her about her addiction and she'd be faced with a lot of challenges revolving around that. her journey would be a lot like luke crain's journey in the haunting of hill house! she'd get pretty close to death at the end just like luke & maybe have a drug overdose but she'd survive and go on to live & get better. beverly would be by her side throughout the whole thing.

in the end, jill would be recovering from her drug addiction & she'd be sober & her best self. she and beverly would live in a house near the beach in florida & they'd have a pet turtle (named maturin 🥰) as well as some cats and maybe a dog. i feel like jill would change her mind about kids & she and beverly would adopt. to add to this, they'd adopt two boys and name them stanley (stan) & edward (eddie) in honor of their friends. basically, jill & bev would be the best moms and yeah, they'd have their own little happily ever after!! <333

v. do you think bev would end up with ben anyway? with jill being dead? or if jill survived would she be with bev?

i definitely feel like beverly would feel guilty for moving on, but yeah, i do think benverly would end up together, but it would take a while. like in the movie it seems as if they end up together right after they defeat it, but in my mind, because of jill, it would take them longer to end up together. beverly would feel immense amount of guilt, but i feel like she would realize jill would have wanted her to be happy, and ben makes her happy, so she'd slowly let herself love him. it would definitely take them a few years to get together though. like they'd be friends for a while and then they'd slowly get together, and i think they'd have a daughter and name her jill in honor of the friend/love they lost.

as stated more in depth in another question, jill & beverly would end up together if jill would have survived. (it's at the bottom of question four!!)

vi. how did everyone deal with jill's death? especially bev, richie, and jill's father?

bev — beverly was heartbroken obviously, but she dealt with a lot of guilt too since jill was the one to save her from it. she blamed herself a lot and she spent a lot of her nights crying herself to sleep. she definitely would have felt guilty over the fact that she didn't say "i love you" back and it'd haunt her. i also feel like she would have either asked david if she could stay in jill's room or she'd sneak in there and just sleep there. she would be the first one to suggest the blood oath & be the one to make them promise to come back if it did return. she'd be angry that it killed jill, and she'd honestly want to kill it no matter the circumstances. when she found the letters from jill, it helped her heal a bit since she would realize jill would only want her to be happy. then once she wrote the letter back to jill, that would give her enough closure to move on even if it still hurt.

since in the future, the losers can't remember their childhood, beverly would always feel this deep sadness whenever she tried to think about her past and such. basically, she'd always be hurt by jill's death even if she couldn't remember it.

richie — richie quickly became jill's best friend ya know? and she was the one to teach him that he wasn't alone and he didn't need to change anything about himself so i think he'd take it the hardest. jill was the only person he could be his "true" self with because no one knew about him, so i think losing that would break him. now, he had eddie and the losers so he wouldn't be a lost cause, but i think he'd be the angriest out of all of them. like his mindset would be "i'm killing this thing" and that's all he could think about. i do think he'd try to hide his hurt with humor as he normally does, but anytime anyone mentioned jill, he'd get angry. he'd sort of turn into jill in a way. like jill & richie were already similar but jill was filled with rage, so i think he'd adopt that rage.

stan — stan was jill's first friend outside of beverly, and in the last chapter, he's the first one to breakdown, so i think this would haunt him. i feel like he'd see her face everywhere and be haunted by her death. i think her death would be one of the reasons why he was so scared to go back to derry, which would lead to his death. i just think jill's death was so traumatic for him because he cared for her so much & so it would keep him up at night and follow him throughout his life.

david (jill's dad) — this man needs a break, jesus. he'd be so upset when he heard, and the thing that would mess him up would be the fact that he didn't have all the answers. like the losers saw jill die, but david was told henry killed her (since in the movie, pennywise's killings are blamed on henry), so he would be confused. he'd frequently visit her grave and talk to her, but he'd be so confused and hurt and he wouldn't really know what to do. i think that confusion would cause him so much stress and he'd later have a heart attack & die like he did in the alternate ending. prudence would also die (of a broken heart like in the alternate ending). basically, jill's death would kill him and prue :(

bill — jill and bill didn't become friends until the end, but i feel like he would feel the guiltiest. like he was the reason she was down there and the reason she got killed, so i definitely think he'd blame himself. alongside beverly, he'd also be the one to make the losers promise to return if it came back and his one thought would be "i'm killing this thing for georgie and jill."

mike — i wish i wrote more of a friendship for jill & the other losers, but basically mike would take it hard like the rest. i think he'd regularly bring flowers to jill's grave and talk to her. he'd be the one to comfort everyone rather than taking care of himself & i feel like her death would be one of the reasons he got so into derry's history & she'd be one of the reasons he tried so hard to find a way to kill it.

eddie — i feel like eddie would be sad like the rest & her death would make him even more scared to come back to derry. jill's death was supposed to symbolize/foreshadow eddie's death, which is why i think her death would haunt him. i feel like he'd definitely be upset by her death because in my mind, he admired her, but i think richie's reaction to her death would be the thing that messed him up the most.

ben — i definitely feel like ben knew about jill's crush on beverly so when she died i think he'd feel guilty about liking bev. i feel like he would have a similar reaction to the rest of the losers. they'd all be heartbroken because they lost their friend, but he would forget about her a little easier than the others once he left derry. as an adult, he'd feel guilty about his feelings toward beverly and i feel like that'd be an issue for him but eventually he and beverly would realize jill would want them to be happy, ya know?

honestly, i think they would have dealt with it a lot worse had they not had each other, but since they did they became each other's support systems!
