August 13th, 2029

Ethan, Kayla, Kevin and Alexis were all sat down at a local restaurant in the afternoon getting something to eat and they eventually came to the topic of the Woodsboro killings.

"I found out about the status of Bailey Coopers condition" Kayla said

"How is she?" Alexis asked

"She's alive but considering she was also stabbed in the chest, she's also not doing so great either" Kayla said with distraught.

"Did Dewey tell about it?" Ethan asked

"Yeah he visited her this morning, he said she didn't look so good. It's taking a lot of stitches to keep her wounds closed" Kayla added

"You know, I've been thinking about something." Kevin finally spoke up.

"About what?" Ethan asked, curiosity in his voice

"I'm thinking we make our own little rules to survive." Kevin suggested.

"You mean the rules of surviving a horror movie?" Alexis asked

"That is, IF the killer is following the pattern of movie sequels or trilogies but we don't exactly know if Ghostface is patterning himself after the Stab Movies" Kevin explained.

"Well what rules ya got then?" Ethan asked.

Kevin placed a piece of paper on the table listing his rules to survival and began to read aloud

#1. you cannot trust anyone fully. Not even your closest friends, that's a Horror Movie 3rd act waiting to happen!

#2. If you see the killer, run for your fucking life! Going back into the house with the killer still inside is basically suicide.

#3. If you're stupid enough to fight the killer, be ready for any surprises they may pull. You may encounter a killer who knows more about you than you may know about them.

#4. The killer is usually always someone you know.

#5. The victims can be anyone. Any gender, any age and any background.

Everyone read and reread the rules multiple times and Ethan finally spoke.

"Yep, definitely something Kevin would write!" Ethan said jokingly.

"Cmon what's that supposed to mean?!" Kevin asked

"I mean we don't even know who the killer is and you make the assumption that the killer is somebody close to us" Alexis said.

"These rules were made based on the past Woodsboro killing sprees. one or both of the killers has always been someone related or close to Sidney Prescott" Kevin explained

"My mom?" Ethan asked

"Your mom is victim royalty Ethan, she is always a target of these Ghostface killers" Kevin explained. "One of these days, the killer will finally get her."

Ethan changed the topic immediately. "Do we have any suspects, i mean I'm working with Dewey Riley now in this case and i want to provide him something"

Kayla looked at her boyfriend worriedly and pitched a good idea.

"My dad actually came up with this idea earlier that we should find Ghostface. Instead of him coming to us, we're gonna come to him" Kayla suggested.

"Sounds like it's worth a shot." Ethan agreed.

"Are you sure you're willing to do this? I mean what's gonna happen if we see the killer? None of us are equipped with the tools to fight him!" Kevin said loudly

"Maybe not but we have the speed to outrun him hopefully." Alexis said

"What's our first target?" Ethan asked

"Well Dad wants us to check out an abandoned mall where sightings of the killer have been spotted. He's coming with us too" Kayla said.

"When are we going?" Kevin asked.

"Tomorrow night." Kayla said. "Dad thinks the killers next target could be there, most sightings have been around in that area"

"Worth a look" Ethan said. "Alexis, you game?"

"I'm sorry but i can't, i have to take care of some things tomorrow" "Alexis said, getting her stuff together.

Ethan watched as Alexis left the restaurant and drove off. "Well i guess i should be going too.

"Yeah, let's go." Kayla said, getting up.

The 3 paid for their meal and left for the day and they met their other friend, Maddie Reaves.

"Maddie?" Kayla said in surprise and hugged her friend! "How've you been?"

"It took me a little bit to get back from summer vacation but I'm here now, what's up?" Maddie said

"We discussed the new Woodsboro killings that have been going on recently" Ethan said.

"Yeah i heard about that.." Maddie said sadly

"Bailey was attacked but is still alive, Jesse Peterson was attacked yesterday and was killed" Kevin said, speaking up

"Killed..?" Maddie said sadly.

"Yeah.. they found him gutted out and hanging from a tree" Kevin explained.

"Don't worry, we're going to get to the bottom of this." Ethan said confidently.

"We're going to an abandoned mall tomorrow night where sightings of a person in a Ghostface mask have been spotted, i think it could be our first clue as to who is behind this" Kayla said.

"Would you like to come with us? The more, the merrier." Ethan asked

Maddie thought for a moment and looked at 3 with confidence.

"I'd be happy to." Maddie said with a smile

"Well then i guess its settled. Let's find this killer!" Ethan said.

---Later---

Ethan and Kayla went over to the Riley residence and they needed to speak with her mom, Gale Weathers.

"Mom! I'm home!" Kayla called out, walking into Gales office

Ethan and Kayla walked into Gales office and she turned toward the children.

"Kayla..!" Gale said, hugging her daughter tightly.

"You gonna help with the investigation tomorrow?" Kayla asked

"Absolutely, i heard about Bailey. It's good that she's getting better" Gale said, turning towards her computer.

"You gonna make another book when this is all over?" Ethan asked

"Maybe. The recent Stab movies haven't been that great and that's because they aren't based off books that i wrote." Gale explained

"Stab 5.. Time travel? Less of a horror movie and more of a Sci-fi movie like Star Wars or something." Ethan said

"Well after Sidneys life turned back to normal, she no longer wanted her character involved in the movies. Stab went completely fictional afterwards" Kayla explained.

"Do you think the killer will try to make their own little film?" Gale asked

"That motive has been used way too many times in my opinion. Take Mickey Altieri for example, blaming the movies?! Movies aren't responsible for someones actions." Ethan said, mocking the deceased killer from the 90's

"Well the motive is based on the person under the mask, Ghostface in the end is just another Halloween costume" Gale said.

"Yeah.. a costume that is forever imbedded into this towns disturbing legacy." Ethan said as he walked out of the room.

Kayla stared after him, worried about his mental health and even feared that the killer could eventually catch up to him
