what an awful year!

from beginning to its end

all I remember

is sickness and death

Covid-19 killed millions

took away their breath

terrible virus

with beginnings in China

scourged our whole planet

has wiped out many

innocent, elderly souls

has left its footprint

cannot be erased

destroyed many families

left them without food

even attacked youth

those who were vulnerable

deprived of their lives

and still we must wade

through this wave of such sad scenes

till Covid vaccines
