A month later, and Naruto's outfit has changed once again. Now, Naruto's right black jacket sleeve is ripped off. With the stylised character for lightning (雷) is tattooed on Naruto's right shoulder. The lightning tattoo symbolizes his mastery of Black Lightning.

Anyway, right now, Naruto, and his Sensei, Darui are standing in front of the Raikage. The Raikage says, "I have an A-Rank mission for you two."

Darui asks, "What's the mission, Boss?"

The Raikage answers, "You two will go to Nami no Kuni (Land of Waves). Once there, you will have to kill a bridge builder named Tazuna. I don't care how it's done, as long as it gets done. Also supposedly he is being guarded by some hired shinobi. All though, we don't these shinobi are. Good Luck."

Darui asks, "Naruto do you know what to pack for long-term missions like this one?"

Naruto answers, "Yes I do, Dull-sensei. Spare clothes for at least a month, fifty shuriken and kunai, food rations, and weapons sharpeners. Which I keep on hand at all times." To legitimize the claim, he pulls out a hand full of storage scrolls.

Darui replies, "Good, now let's go kill a bridge builder."

Naruto asks, "Dull-sensei, do you even know what this Tazuna person looks like?"

Darui answers, "No, but we will find out when we get to Nami no Kuni." The Jounin then leaves the office, with Naruto face palming, and following his sensei.

A week later, the Sensei, and student find themselves in the Land of Waves. The villages were in a horrible state. Children, and elders are without a home. Their is barely anything nutritious to buy. It is just so sad, and sorry looking that it is unbelievable.

Darui then asked around about Tazuna.

Blunt and sometimes harsh, Tazuna has been described as a diligent man. He is also a drinker. Tazuna is a grey-haired, bespectacled man with a large beard and dark eyes. When first introduced, he wore a sleeveless v-neck shirt with an obi, pants and a pair of sandals. He also carried a towel around his neck and wore a pointed hat on his head.

Tazuna has a daughter named Tsunami, a grandson named Inari, and a dead son-in-law named Kaiza.

She has been described as obliging. She also loves "prettiness". Tsunami also seems to be a very loving mother. Tsunami is a woman of strong will; when she is taken hostage by Gatō's men to threaten Tazuna, she threatens to commit suicide so that Tazuna doesn't need to worry about her.

Tsunami has long blue-coloured hair. She wears a short-sleeved pink shirt with the end of the sleeves and the collar being red in colour. She also wears a long blue skirt.

Inari has also been described as a contrarian — usually taking up a position opposed by the majority of a group, no matter how unpopular. He appeared to be a very tough individual, though this was just a ruse he put on to hide the loneliness he felt since the death of Kaiza, his stepfather.

Inari has spiky black hair and dark-coloured eyes. He also wears a blue and white striped hat under the brim of which he would usually look at people.

Kaiza was a very brave man. His ideology was to never give up if he ever had an aim. Kaiza is shown as a patriot of his homeland and a great protector of its inhabitants, as he had put his life on the line, desperately trying to prevent Gatō's intervention into the Land of Waves.

Kaiza had short spiky black hair and black eyes. He had a small white rope tied around his head which was tied on the right side of his head and a small x-shaped scar on his chin. He wore a black T-shirt that had a white outline and a white pair of pants. He also had scars on his arms.

Darui even found out where the man lives. He says, "Naruto! Let's go I found Tazuna's house. We'll wait until he is alone, and then we will kill him."

Naruto nods his head, but not before doing some hand seals. Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram. The blonde then bites his thumb, and smears the blood on the opposite palm. He then smacks the bloody palm against the ground, and yells, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!"

And in a puff of smoke, Gamakichi appears. Naruto says, "Welcome to the human world Kichi. How is Mount Myoboku?"

Kichi answers, "It's good. Do you have some candy?"

Naruto puts his hand in his pocket, and flips a wrapped candy at Gamakichi. He says, "There is more where that came from. Anyway, Dull-sensei? How is paying us to kill the bridge builder, and what does the man look like?"

Darui answers, "The richest man in the world Gato."

Gatō is a corrupt businessman, characterised by extreme cruelty and greed. If he had even the slightest chance of getting profit, nothing would stop him. He constantly prioritised financial success over any other motives and emotions. He is willing to break prior contracts and agreements in order to save money. Gatō is very ruthless, and dealt harshly with his enemies, brutally executing anyone who crossed his path. To this end, he had no qualms over killing and harming innocent people.

Gatō has shaggy brown hair and sports a pair of small, circular black glasses. He wears a black suit with a purple tie and closed-toed shoes.

Naruto then Orders, "Kichi spy on this "Gatō". Find out everything you can about him. When your done doing this, I'll give you a pound or two of candy. I promise you that, Kichi."

Gamakichi replies, "I'll do anything, if that amount of candy is being offered. Don't worry Naruto. I'll come back, and tell you everything I know about Gatō, and I mean everything."

As Gamakichi jumps away, Naruto says, "Let's go Dull-sensei. I want to see who is guarding the Master Bridge Builder, Tazuna."

Darui, with Naruto following, then walks to Tazuna's house.

Tazuna's house turned out to be one of the most impressive buildings in the village, situated close to the market square yet with a clear view of the bay. It was a large two-story building made of wooden planks, with a thatched roof supported by formidable timber pillars on all sides, and actual glass windows. Also, the house itself is built on a boardwalks of sorts.

Naruto, and Darui are hidden, standing in the trees, watching the house. Seeing all who enters, exits, and everything in between. Then somebody coughs behind them. They spin around, and Naruto sees a person he hoped wasn't protecting Tazuna. Naruto asks, "Kakashi-nii?"

Kakashi is slightly shocked, but answers, "Hello Naruto, my Otōto (Little Brother). How have you been. Why are you here? How's Kumo treating you?"

Naruto replies, "Kakashi-nii, I'm doing my first mission outside of Kumo. Kumo is Awesome. Everyone has treated me very well. Raikage-jiji is always angry, but that's because of B-nii, who is always rapping. Ain't that right, Dull-sensei."

Kakashi then looks at Darui, and says, "Darui."

Darui sizes up Kakashi, and says, "Kakashi Hatake. We are here to kill the bridge builder."

Just then a puff of smoke appears, between Darui, and Kakashi. Gamakichi then appears, and says, "Wait... Naruto... Gatō isn't going to pay Kumo, nor will he pay Zabuza Momochi, and his acquaintance, who is named Haku Yuki. Sorry Naruto. I could only get his name. The money he did pay Kumo is fake, but I did find the location to his safe, which where he keeps all of his money. I even found the passcode for the safe. Next time I'm summoned, I want that pound of candy, okay?" he then reverse summons himself back to Mount Myoboku.

Naruto nodded at Gamakichi, and then looks at Darui, who then says, "Guess we are not here to kill Tazuna. We'll help you protect Tazuna, and even kill Gatō for you."

Kakashi replies, "Ok, I'll allow you to help. Now follow me into the house, so you can meet my team."

Once inside of the house a pale-skinned kid attacks the two Kumo shinobi, but Naruto easily blocked it with his chokuto. Kakashi then says, "SAI, YOU WILL NOT ATTACK THEM! THEY ARE OUR ALLIES FOR THE MOMENT, AND YOU WILL TREAT THEM AS SUCH! Now why don't you, my sweet little Genin introduce yourselves to the nice Kumo-nins." The two then disengage from each other.

Sasuke was a happy child, eager to please and be worthy of his family name. This changed after his entire family was killed by his older brother, Itachi, the person he most admired in the world. He became cold toward others, unmoved by and uninterested in what they do or think of him, choosing instead to keep to himself. His only goal in life became to take revenge for his family's deaths and, by extension, acquire the power needed for that revenge, even if it meant acquiring an external power that wasn't his own.

Sasuke has black eyes and spiky black hair with a blue tint. His hair hung over his face as bangs. Sasuke wears a navy blue, short-sleeved shirt with a high collar, white shorts, and white arm warmers. He wears his navy blue clothed Konoha hitai-ate on his forehead. Sasuke also has a kunai holster on his right leg, and a weapon pouch on the back of his waist.

Sakura typically gives the outward impression of being polite to her superiors, considerate of her peers, and confident in herself. She has occasional moments of bashfulness around Sasuke and competitiveness around Ino, but otherwise appears quite collected. This reservation, though never disingenuous, frequently masks how Sakura feels: in certain situations, she has pronounced feelings of delinquency, jealousy, and anger. Rather than display these emotions to others, she projects them inward, allowing a manifestation of who she truly is.

Sakura has fair skin, green eyes, and pink hair. She wears a red qipao dress, that has short sleeves, with slits along the sides accompanied by a zipper and white circular designs. Sakura also wears tight dark green bike shorts with a shuriken holster around her right thigh, blue sandals, and a navy blue clothed Konoha hitai-ate worn as a hairband. The natural pinkette also has a weapon pouch on the back of her waist.

Sai is distinguished by his total lack of emotion which he often masks with a false, cheerful, yet transparent façade. After much mental conditioning and training while in Root, Sai had suppressed almost all of his emotions, laying all of his loyalty to whoever commands him, and thus making it easier for him to accomplish dangerous, unpleasant, or unethical missions. Due to this training and his lack of social experience and personal initiative, Sai has great trouble in understanding how bonds between people can motivate others.

Sai's social awkwardness tends to get people angry, because he often speaks without considering his words and their effects on people. This was due to his inability to realise the difference between a rude statement and a true statement. Sai had read somewhere in a book that giving somebody a nickname would bring you closer to that person and develop your friendship, this resulted in Sai hurting Sakura Haruno's feelings, because he called her "ugly", stating the first true character trait that came to his mind.

Sai has short, straight black hair, and dark eyes which contrast with his translucent-looking pale skin. He is usually seen carrying a small backpack with his brush, scrolls, and ninja ink in it. He wears a short black-and-grey jacket with red straps — as customary of all Root members, to most likely show his allegiance to the organisation. He also carries a tip-less tantō on his back. The rest of his outfit consisted of a high-collared midriff shirt, black pants, shinobi sandals and gloves with his index and thumb fingers exposed, most likely to facilitate the use of his drawing based techniques. When first seen with Team Kakashi, his jacket has a long right and short left sleeves. He has Danzō's cursed seal on the back of his tongue, not that anyone knows about that.

Sakura moaned, and says, "Hello, I am Sakura Haruno. I like Sasuke-kun, and dislike Iwabee-baka. My hobbies... My dreams..." She then passes out from perverted dreams.

Sasuke just hned, and says, "I'm Sasuke Uchiha. I don't like much. I dislike a lot, it's too much to list. My hobby is training to get stronger. My dream isn't a dream, because it's an ambition that will come true. I will restore my clan, and kill a certain person."

Sai just waves, and places a totally obviously fake smile on his face. He then says, "I'm Sai. I want to know how to use emotions, and feel again. My dream... Is to have the perfect smile."

Naruto says, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, Dattebayo. I am 12 years old, but you know that already. I'm the Jinchuuriki of Kurama, the nine-tailed fox. I like Pakura-chan, Yugi-nee, cooking, and ramen. I dislike people who hate me, anyone who hurts Pakura-chan, and the three minutes I have to wait for ramen to cooldown after I put water into the ramen cup. My hobbies are training, hanging out with Pakura-chan, and tasting different flavors of ramen. My dream is to be the strongest Shinobi ever, and have a family."

Darui says, "This is dull, but I'm Darui. I like stuff, and I dislike stuff. My hobbies... My Dreams... I haven't thought about them in much detail. It just seems too dull."

Sakura remembers hearing the name of "Naruto". She is confused, but then it clicks. The Haruno asks, "Ah. Naruto, aren't you the kid you was top of the class even though you never came to class, but was banished when we were six?"

Naruto, in his best game show host voice, answers, "Ding! Ding! Ding! You are correct! You now win one million Ryo!"

Sai then walks up to Naruto, and says, "Pakura... Hm, she, and her name is ugly!"

You can feel the temperature in the house drop ten degrees, as Naruto replies, "That's some tough words coming from a man in cumshot distance. Now if you say Pakura-chan's name in vain again, it won't be pretty..."

Naruto lets the threat linger, as he turns to Tazuna, who looks at Kakashi. Tazuna asks, "Who are these people?"

Kakashi answers, "Well... The blonde is my Otōto. We aren't related by blood obviously. He is the son of my Sensei. So I look to him as such. The white haired one is his Sensei."

Tazuna deadpans, and says, "I just wanted to know their names, Kakashi-san."

Kakashi gives an eye-smile, and just says, "Sorry."

Naruto says, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and this is Darui, or better known as Dull-sensei, or Kuroi Kaminari no Darui (Darui of the Black Lightning)."

Tazuna sarcastically asks, "Do you have any nicknames too?"

Naruto feigning some kind of ignorance, answers, " I sure do. The Show-Off, Number One Unpredictable, Noisy Ninja, Naruto Uzumaki. That's just the first one. Then their is the Prankster from Hell. Another one is Kyu-sama, and/or Fox-sama. I'll take both. Shiden no Naruto (Naruto of the Purple Electricity) is an excellent name if I do say so, and then their is Kuroi Kaminari no Naruto (Naruto of the Black Lightning). I do love Toad-Sennin (Toad Sage). I also have the name of Kumo's Prank King, which is because of all of the sweet, sweet pranks that I have pulled. I guess that is all of the nicknames that I have racked up so far."

This is when Inari enters the living room. He says, "Great... More have come to die by Gatō. You should all leave." And before he could leave, Naruto grabs him by the collar. Ya know... to "talk". Lifting Inari up, Naruto leaves the house.

Sakura asks, "Darui-san, will Inari be okay with Naruto-kun? Shouldn't you go after them?"

Darui nods, and answers, "The kid will be fine, and to answer your second question... No, it'll be to dull to do so."
