On the free day from the Chunin Exams, Naruto decides to teach Konohamaru a jutsu. Konohamaru is standing in front of Naruto in the Third Training Ground, or Training Ground 3.

The third training ground is a portion of land located inside of Konoha. There is a view of mountains in the landscape and a large and deep river with forests in both of its sides. There is a glade and in its centre there are three stumps lined side by side where Hiruzen used to tie up his students, below there is the memorial stone, a polished kunai-shaped structure.

Konohamaru asks, "What are we going to do here?"

Naruto answers, "Didn't I tell you?"

Konohamaru asks, "Tell me what?"

Naruto answers, "Well, since you asked, I'm going to teach you a jutsu."

Konohamaru jumps for joy, and then asks, "What is the jutsu, Boss?"

Naruto places his hand in front of him, as a spinning ball of chakra just formed in his hand. He says, "This is the Rasengan. My Tou-san, the Yondaime Hokage created this jutsu, and I want you to learn it, and keep it alive in Konoha."

Konohamaru asks, "So what do I do, Boss?"

Naruto answers, "The first step is Rotation."

The blonde then throws Konohamaru a water balloon at Konohamaru, who catches it. Konohamaru asks, "What's a water balloon supposed to do?"

Naruto then says, "To complete this step you have to pop the water balloon with you chakra. Like this!"

Naruto then demonstrates it. Konohamaru watches it pop, and Naruto says, "Come, and show me when you have popped the balloon!"

Naruto then gives Konohamaru a bucket of balloons, and leaves, but subtly leaves a Shadow Clone in his place. Who then watched konohamaru's progress from high in the treetops.

The Uzumaki then appears in the Hokage's office in a Yellow Flash. He didn't know why he decided to come to Sarutobi-jiji's office, but he did. The Sandaime then walks in to see Naruto which surprised him. It's been years he'd randomly find Naruto in his office. The Hokage asks, "So, how long have you been here?"

Naruto answers, "Oh, just a couple of minutes, Sarutobi-jiji, why?"

The Sandaime replies, "Nothing, Naruto-kun. So did you want advice? Want to know more about your parents? Or all of the above?"

Naruto says, "It is probably just nostalgia, Sarutobi-jiji. This office was a safe heaven for me when I was younger. I recently went to my parent's graves, with Pakura-chan. Anyway, do you think they'd be proud of me?"

Hiruzen answers, "I don't think... I know they'd be proud of you Naruto-kun. Your very strong, and joyful person. I know they'd love to meet you, and they'd say that they are proud that you were their son, even if you are a proud shinobi of Kumogakure."

Naruto says, "Thank you Sarutobi-jiji. I needed that."

The blonde then disappears in a yellow flash. Which makes the aged Kage sigh, and then get back to work. Boy did Hiruzen have a love hate relationship with his paperwork. He didn't really like the paperwork, more as he loved the job, and it's other aspects more.

After a couple of hours, Naruto then receives memories of Konohamaru completing the first step of the Rasengan. He smiles a bit at the information. As Naruto is sitting, enjoying a bowl of miso ramen, he hears Konohamaru yelling, "BOSS! I DID IT! I POPPED THE BALLOON!"

Naruto turns around, and sees Konohamaru standing there. He says, "If you did pop the balloon show me."

Konohamaru then, with the use of his other hand moving all around the balloon, it pops Naruto says, "Good job, and very creative way to pop the balloon."

Konohamaru asks, "What's next?"

Naruto answers, "The next step is Power!"

Konohamaru asks, "So, what must I do for this step?"

Naruto takes out a rubber ball, and answers, "Pop this rubber ball."

Konohamaru asks, "So how do I do that?"

Naruto answers, "The same way you popped the balloon, but with an increase of chakra for Power."

Naruto then leaves a bucket of rubber balls for Konohamaru, and watches him train through the use of a Shadow Clone. The day then went to night just like that, and Naruto is sleeping, waiting for his chance to wreak havoc in the Forest of Death.
