Team Darui is standing in front of the Academy. Memories then rush into Naruto's mind. The entrance exams, the pranks on Iruka. Speaking of Iruka, Naruto knew he'd have to meet up with the Academy Sensei at some point during his stay. Anyway, Naruto walks into the building, with Pakura following close behind. Once inside of the Academy, Naruton remembers Darui, who says, "Go to the third floor, and find room 301. That is the room where the first test in the Chunin Exams will start."

Pakura then follows Naruto up the stairs to the second floor. She is confused for a moment, but dispels the Genjutsu, as does Naruto. The duo ignores the crowd of Genin, and then continues up to the third floor. They stop when Naruto hears Sasuke speak. He says, "Dispel the Genjutsu!"

The disguised Izumo asks, "So you noticed the Genjutsu, huh?"

Sasuke replies, "Yeah this is the second floor. Sakura here has noticed it before me. She's the smartest one on my team, and even has the best Chakra Control too. Right, Sakura?"

Sakura just nods, before she says, "Sure, I totally noticed the Genjutsu!"

The disguised Kotetsu says, "You sure about this? I mean this is the toughest Exams you'll ever go through. Death, and mental breakdowns are a common thing during these exams."

The disguised Izumo, and Sasuke then rush at each other. Izumo a kick, and Sasuke a punch. They get stopped by a green blur. The said green blur then lets go of the shinobi, and looks to Sakura. He says, "Hello! You must be Sakura Haruno! I am the most youthful Rock Lee! Will you go out with me!? I'll protect you with all my might!"

Sakura answers, "No, sorry you are two weird!"

Rock Lee then says, "Then I shall fight Sasuke-san for your honor!"

Anyway, under Gai's leadership, Lee has acquired a number of his sensei's personality traits: he is energetic, optimistic, and hot-blooded, and shows the epitome of a "nice guy". He believes that one cannot dislike food and shows strong dedication to his promises; when this promise is broken, just barely, he assigns himself arduous training to prevent it from happening again. Lee speaks respectfully to others, never using contractions or swear words and always addressing people with appropriate honorifics (except his teammates, since Lee feels they are close enough to be spoken to informally). He also carries a small book and pencil to recall advice that Gai gives him over time.

Despite his passionate nature, Lee has also shown strong instincts, staying focused at the task at hand and rarely losing his composure. He has a keen sense of honour and respects his opponents, refusing to hold grudges against those who have defeated him, and returning favours to those that have helped him.

Lee has shiny black hair, round eyes with prominent lower eyelashes, and very thick eyebrows. His hair is in a bowl-cut style; he wears a green jumpsuit, orange leg warmers, and a red clothed Konoha hitai-ate worn as a belt. He has bandages around his forearms up to his fingers, covering a set of stitches on his hands that were caused by his rigorous training.

Sasuke then replies, "You're on!"

Naruto the creates a single Shadow Clone to watch the fight.

In a huge, and empty room, Sasuke is facing down Lee. They get into their respective Taijutsu stances.

Sakura, and Naruto are watching. Naruto then speaks up. He says, "Sasuke will lose this match if it's purely Taijutsu."

Sakura jumps a bit at Naruto's voice, but asks, "Why do you say that?"

Naruto answers, "See the stance that Lee is in, it's the starting stance of the Gōken (Strong Fist). The Gōken is used by Might Gai. Gai is the Taijutsu Master of Konoha. I train under him for a while, not long enough to master the style, but just enough to get the basics down. Well, actually, I only know the basics from Kakashi-nii. Gai also uses the Hachimon (Eight Gates). The Hachimon are eight specific tenketsu along the chakra pathway system. They are used to limit the flow of chakra within an individual's body. Ordinarily, individuals can use no more than 20% of their body's full potential, the brain's way of protecting the individual from harming their body through overexertion. With training, individuals can learn to remove these limiters, referred to as "opening" the gates. With each opened gate, individuals are given access to more and more of their body's chakra, thus increasing their physical strength and speed. Ninja able to open the Eight Gates have existed since at least the time of . There have been three users since Madara has been alive Might Gai, his father Might Dai, and Kakashi-nii, If Bushy Brows there can use the Hachimon, Sasuke will lose in a heartbeat."

Sakura nods, as Lee speed blitz Sasuke, and kicks him in the chin, high into the air. Lee then appears in front of Sasuke and kicks him in the legs. Lee yells, "Konoha Senpū (Leaf Whirlwind)!"

Sasuke then lands on his feet, and watches as Lee appears in front of him. Lee then drops to the ground, extends his leg out, and spins kicking Sasuke's feet out from under him. Sasuke then flies away from Lee. He yells, "Konoha Reppū (Leaf Gale)!"

Sasuke then activates his Sharingan, and just watches helplessly as Lee destroys him. Lee is just to fast for the Sharingan. Bushy Brows then kick Sasuke in the chin once again. Lee then appears underneath Sasuke. He yells, "Omote Renge (Front Lotus)!"

All though, Lee never got to complete the jutsu, as he gets pinned to the wall. A tortoise named Ningame appears in a puff of smoke.

Ningame is often-time a very stern and serious tortoise. Like his summoner Might Gai, Ningame is also easily moved to tears.

He is a very large tortoise. His shell is red with a yellow underside and swirls on the top with markings around his eyes which are also yellow. He wears a standard Konoha hitai-ate around his neck, and an orange bandage on his right front leg.

Ningame then yells, "LEE! I THOUGHT GAI TOLD YOU THAT IS A FORBIDDEN JUTSU!?"

Lee says, "Sorry Sensei!"

Sakura asks, "Is a turtle really Lee-san's Sensei?"

Naruto answers, "No, it's also not a turtle, it's a tortoise. The tortoise is a summon animal from the Tortoise Clan. As such, his Sensei, Gai is a Tortoise Summoner."

Sakura asks, "How do you know so much about this?"

Naruto answers, "Sakura-chan, Sakura-chan. You are asking a Toad-Sennin (Toad Sage) about the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning technique)!? I'm a Toad Summoner, so of course I know about summoning animals."

Then in a puff of smoke, an older Lee, a more Bushier Brows appear. In actuality it is Might Gai.

Gai is perhaps most fully represented by his "nice guy" pose: a thumbs up, wink, and winning smile - complete with the proverbial ping. The pose captures his optimism and confidence, as by striking the pose he is promising that whatever words accompany it are either true now or will become true in time. It represents his energy, as he will, through his understood-only-to-himself-and-select-others "Power of Youth (青春, seishun)", enthusiastically seek to live up to his promise no matter the personal investment doing so will require of him. It plumbs his deep emotional well because he only reserves it for the most important promises to the most important people for the most important reasons, and as such tears frequently stream down the face of somebody (inevitably Gai) when the pose is struck.

Gai can be serious at times despite his odd mannerisms, usually when engaging an enemy who threatens Konoha or one of his comrades. But even his serious moments can be undermined by one of his eccentricities: his poor memory of faces.

Gai is a tall and well-muscled man. He has fair skin a strong jawline, a somewhat large nose, and black hair. He is most noticeable for his shiny bowl-style haircut and thick eyebrows. He wears a green jumpsuit, orange striped leg warmers, and the standard Konoha flak jacket, which he normally leaves unzipped. His red Konoha hitai-ate is worn around his waist like a belt.

This is the moment where Naruto knew he had to leave, so the Shadow Clone dispelled itself. Leaving a puff of smoke in it's wake. The real Naruto smiles at having a Shadow Clone smart enough to not witness the Sunset on the Beach Genjutsu.

Team Darui has just reached the door to room 301, when they see Darui, their Sensei. Darui says, "It's dull. You won't need it, but good luck you two." Then Darui disappears in a Shunshin, as his students walk through the door of room 301.

Shorty after Team Darui enters, the Konoha 11 enters one at a time. First is Team 7, then Team 10, after them is Team 8, and finally Team Gai enter the room. Shikamaru then says, "Hey, Troublesome! What brings you back here?"

Naruto turns to Shikamaru, and answers, "Hey Shika. The only reason I'm here is for the Chunin Exams. I'm still technically banished from Konoha. I think so, at least."

Shikamaru is naturally a lazy person and his inclination is to do as little work as possible. As an Academy student and even during his early career as a Genin, Shikamaru is able to get away with this, spending his days sleeping, watching the clouds, or playing games of shōgi and Go. His goal is to live unremarkably, free of anything of noticeably good or bad, and then to die just as unremarkably as he lived. When he is faced with the potential for conflict or commitment, he responds first by saying, "how troublesome," and then by trying to find some way out of it, either by pretending to be indisposed or even outright saying that he doesn't want to do whatever it is.

Although Shikamaru describes himself as "the number one coward", he has a strong moral compass and dedication to his friends. It is these qualities that earned Chōji Akimichi's friendship, as Shikamaru was one of the first people to look past his weight and find value in who he naturally was. It is also these qualities that force Shikamaru to move away from his lazy pursuits, as he finds himself volunteering to do work or to sacrifice himself if it will in some way benefit his allies.

Shikamaru has narrow brown eyes and a typical expression suggesting he is either bored or irritated. He has shoulder length black hair tied in a spiky ponytail. He wears a short-sleeved grey jacket with green-edged sleeves and the rudimentary Nara clan symbol on the back, under which is a green-lined mesh armour T-shirt. He also wears brown pants, a pair of his clan's traditional silver hoop earrings, and wears his blue Konoha hitai-ate around his left arm.

Ino then asks, "If your banished then how are you here in Konoha?"

Naruto answers, "My father is the Yondaime Hokage. Plus I'm a visiting shinobi here to take the Chunin Exams. As you can see, I am a Kumo shinobi."

From a young age, Ino has been confident, bold, and outspoken girl who had a mild-temper and occasionally lashed out at others if their personal habits bothered her. At the same time, she was by nature very friendly and loyal to her allies, usually more motivated than her team-mates, and tended to take charge of them. Shikamaru, despite finding most girls "troublesome", typically offers no resistance to Ino's forceful behaviour, being unwilling to deal with her reaction if things don't happen her way. She is also prideful in her appearance and often tries to lose weight by dieting in the hopes that it will make her more attractive to boys; she even jokingly suggests that Chōji should do the same to attract girls. Ino is quite knowledgeable about different types and meanings of flowers, sometimes making analogies to them when talking.

Despite her assertiveness and uppity demeanour, Ino is a compassionate and kind person at heart, having been raised to embody the meaning of the bush clover: a blunt, candid love who treasures the bonds with her friends. It is these qualities that earned Sakura Haruno's friendship, defending Sakura from bullies who teased her and helping her become confident.

Ino has fair skin, light blue eyes, and long platinum blonde hair worn in a ponytail, with bangs framing the right side of her face. Her ponytail extends to her waist. Ino regularly wears a purple outfit consisting of a high-collared blouse and matching apron skirt. She sports this attire with bandages on her abdomen and legs, small hoop-earrings, her hitai-ate worn as a belt, and white arm warmers.

This is when Kiba starts to yell about how he'll win the entire Chunin Exams. An ash-grey-haired man appears, and says, "I would be quiet if I were you."
