The Protocols of the Elders of Zion

Okay, I think I've found the main reason that the Nazi's persecuted Jews. 'The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion' is an anti-Semitic fake document published in Russia in 1903 and translated into many languages. This notorious document supposedly implicated Jewish leaders in a plan to subvert the world and take over the world's economies. It was taught in German schools after the Nazis took over.

The document was fabricated in Russia during a time when thousands of Jews were killed or chased out of the country. It ended up being the main evidence for the extermination of Jews worldwide. It turns out that the document was a compilation of many anti-Semitic books written in the 19th century both in France and in Germany. The document is a forgery and was revealed as such back as far as 1921. The German document is titled: 'Die Protokolle der Weisen von Zion'.

There are direct equivalences between what's in the Protocols and in Machiavelli and Montesquieu's Dialogues in Hell, which is also considered copied from other sources. This would make the Protocol a double plagiarism.

The Protocols document contains alleged minutes of a late 19th century meeting of notable Jewish world leader on plans to take over the world. There are 24 protocols on how to accomplish this alleged takeover and they involve the usual ideas: economic war; destruction of religion; acquisition of land; worldwide war; abolition of the Constitution; taking over the press; utilization of Masonry; nullification of education; domestic loans and government debt; and a Jewish ruler. Basically, it's a plan to cause worldwide unrest and discontent, along with crime and general evil.

A lot of this sounds more like what the Nazis or the Bolsheviks wanted to do. Since there was a general anti-Semitic sentiment throughout the world during the late 19th century and early 20th, this document would gain a wide acceptance. Many non-Jewish industrialists would use it as a means to eliminate their competition. An example is the fact that Henry Ford funded printing 600,000 copies during the 1920's. Of course, Adolph Hitler loved it. It became required reading for the Nazis.

My thought on this is it's a typical political conspiracy. In the case of the Russians, it would make for good reading in Russia with all the troubles they were experiencing under the Tsar. I think that this document was perfect for the Nazi's plan to exterminate Jews. It was a convenient excuse, but not the only one. This is nothing but a ridiculous conspiracy that was easily accepted by many.
