New World Order conspiracy
New World Order conspiracy
This conspiracy theory has been around for a long time. Essentially, a New World Order refers to a totalitarian world government. In other words a single individual or small group would rule all of us. This is not to be confused with attempts by dictators to take over the world. In modern times this infamous list includes Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin. However, nuclear weapons have more or less aborted the 'conquer the world' idea. There have been many science fiction novels concerning this concept, but they are not possible, at least not now.
Where did this idea come from? This idea goes back to World War I when many politicians saw the need for some controlling force to prevent another major war. These were idealistic concepts that were never implemented. Some of these ideas were incorporated into the United Nations. The difference with the UN is that it is a loose coalition of nations, not a global government. The right of self-determination was never abrogated. The John Birch society believed that American and Russian corrupt politicians and greedy bankers were conspiring to use the UN to create World Government.
Then, we have the Christian right believing that we would be tossed into international Godless communism by governments acceding to communist parties all over the world. Some believed that this was the plan of the (not in any order) Freemasons, Illuminati, Jews, and atheists. Pat Robinson, American televangelist, got on this bandwagon when he published a book that suggested that the New World Government was the plan of the Antichrist.
The term 'New World Order' is the product of Gary Allen, an American writer, in a series of books that proposes the 'Red Menace' would dominate all of us. Some people believed that a New World Order was the goal of George W. Bush when he gave a speech before a US Congress joint session on September 11, 1990.
Of course, this conspiracy was assimilated by many of the other conspiracy movements, including those that propose conspiracies about assassinations, UFO cover-ups, and other contrived theories.
The media was quick to cash in on this conspiracy goldmine. Luke Meyer and Andrew Neal released 'New World Order', a documentary film that explored these theories. The music industry capitalized on this popular belief by promoting lest-wing populist rappers.
Let's look at some of the organizations accused of promoting a World Order. The freemasons are on top of the list because they are a secret society. When an organization is steeped in mystery and secrecy there is a tendency to attract criticism. The Freemasons have been accused of practicing Satanism, occultism, and rationalism. Only the latter is true. They believe that reason is the only course of action. The founding fathers of the United States were freemasons and they included a lot of freemason imagery in the buildings, documents and currency of the United States. The reason they were freemasons is that it was the thing to be back in the eighteenth century if you were a businessman or politician. A thorough study of the United States Constitution exhibits some freemason organizational theory but it does not promote a World Order. The founding fathers were only interested in founding an independent nation based on the idea of a republic. There's no conspiracy in that.
The Illuminati are so secret no one really understands what they believe. Some blamed them for the French Revolution. Others theorized that they were responsible for many revolts and revolutions in Europe and that they were the brains behind anti-cleric, anti-monarch, and anti-patrician movements. Still others proposed that they were involved in the Skull and Bones fraternity at Yale and the Bohemian Club, a gentleman's club. No one even knows if they're still around.
Jews have been blamed for darn near everything, including wars, revolutions, and economic downturns. Hitler tried to exterminate them in Europe, but he didn't invent anti-Semitism. This ridiculous movement existed long before Hitler and his Nazi crazies. Anti-Semites have accused Freemasons for promoting a Jewish takeover because of their belief that they are the chosen people of God. It seems that everybody is getting into the act.
I believe that the reason that Europe hasn't assembled into a 'Unites States of Europe' is because of these New World Order conspiracies. That, and the fact that they hate each other on a racial basis is why they'll never form a unified government. The United States isn't about to form a World Order government anytime soon. I also don't foresee a New World Order based on religion. There'll never be a unified Middle East based on Islam. The Sunni and Shea division won't allow it. And as for Christians, there are too many sects for any hope of unification.
The only way that I could see mankind coming together to form a unified government is if we are faced with an alien invasion. That's a science fiction theme.
Thanks for reading.
