End of the world conspiracies
End of the world conspiracies
These are the latest re-hashing of end-time predictions, which some theorists believe are being suppressed. But, are they?
Nostradamus, our favorite prophet of gloom, predicted that the world economy will collapse, Mount Vesuvius will erupt, and the dead will resurrect (sounds like the zombie apocalypse). He also predicted that the differences between languages would disappear. So much for that prediction!
Other predictions are that the zombie apocalypse virus is a bio-weapon. So, does this mean that the zombies will be soldiers?
How about the prediction that World War III will happen because of economic woes. Does that mean the Vladimir Putin will claim our Arctic oil?
We just have to have a prediction that an asteroid will impact the Earth. It wouldn't be right if we didn't.
We still have the coming of Ragnorok, a battle between Norse gods, or that the Mayan calendar was supposed to end on May 15, 2015. Oops!
We also have the political conspiracies that Obama is trying to bankrupt America. I thought that the Republicans were trying to force that conspiracy to get rid of him. Maybe they think that Obama is allied with China. That wouldn't make sense because China holds 8% of our debt. I believe that this idea is based on the fact that they think that Obama is a Muslim extremist. Really?
Another Obama conspiracy involves his creation of death squads to target defenders of the 2nd Amendment. The idea here is to confiscate firearms, which would instigate an apocalyptic battle. The theorists believe that Obama would recruit assassins to kill outspoken defenders of the right to bear arms. Two main targets have already died under suspicious circumstances. Keith Ratliff uploaded Youtube videos of people shooting guns and setting off explosives. His death was listed as a murder. He who lives by the gun will die by the gun. Another is John Noveske, owner of Noveske Rifleworks. He died in a car accident.
People: Trouble, oh we got trouble, right here in River City! With a capital 'T' that rhymes with 'P' and that stands for pool! We've surely got trouble right here in River City. That's from 'The Music Man'.
Speaking of Muslims, there is a theory that Islam is taking over Europe. Much of this is based on the fact that a lot of Muslims have migrated to countries in Europe. For example, about 10% of France's population is Muslim, which is around 6 million. The reason that a lot of Muslims have migrated to Europe is because of poor economic conditions in their country or because of war. Right now, many Muslims from Syria are migrating to Europe to escape the civil war. The other Muslims that are already there came from North Africa. None of this sounds like a conspiracy to me. It's more of the result of a tragedy.
The financial collapse of America as predicted by the Hebrew calendar was supposed to happen on September 13, 2015. A similar prediction comes from Luke 21:25. It seems that these End-Time prophecies are always being made. This will never cease. For some reason religious nuts want the end time to come.
One of the problems with erstwhile prophets using the Book of Revelations to predict the end time is that they don't consider the entire book. They just pick and choose what they want from it.
One of the prophesies of the end time involves the worship on the altar in the temple, which is the temple in Israel. It comes from chapter 11 of Revelations: "And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations:and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth."
This means that the temple and the altar will be restored before the end time can be fulfilled. That's not going to happen anytime soon because of all the unrest in the Middle East and in Palestine in particular.
Will the end time come? Yes, eventually, but for now you can disregard all of these predictions. They are based on faulty interpretations and silly theories. Jesus told us that only the Father in heaven knows the time, and he ain't telling us until He's good and ready. Trouble, we got trouble!
