Why are there so many conspiracy gossip stories about celebrities?

That's an interesting question, but it appears that stories about celebrities pique the public's curiosity, especially stories about celebrities that are controversial.

The Kardashian clan seems to generate a lot of controversy. Kim Kardashian's stormy marriage to Kanye West is a good example of this. It seems as if they've been married forever, mostly because they're in the tabloids often.

Then, there is the fascination with which celebrity has a baby bump. I'm not sure why this is controversial unless they're not married. LeAnn Rimes is in the radar for a guessing game about her maternal status.

Of course we have the allegations surrounding Prince's unexpected death. One controversy I was unaware of is when Madonna and he sang 'Love Song' together in the 80's. This created a heated argument because she wanted to record a video of the duet because this was when she was divorcing Sean Penn, but he wouldn't do it.

The Bill Cosby saga has created all sorts of controversy. Supposedly he has sex with teens and his agent covered it up. He has been recently ordered to stand trial for one of his trysts that hasn't passed the prosecution limit.

Taylor Swift, the celebrated country singer is the subject of a bizarre conspiracy. She's supposedly a Neo-Nazi and is planning to marry a Trump son. In case you didn't know it, there are Facebook pages devoted to showing Taylor Swift's butt. This only proves that she's the darling of the information age.

Why does this infatuation with celebrity gossip flourish? I believe that it's because ordinary people admire celebrities not because they think they're good people, but rather because celebrities are living the lifestyle that they aspire to. People envy the wealthy for the same reason. This is also the reason that some people admire evil despots like Hitler, Caligula, Attila the Hun, and Vlad the Impaler. You know, the really interesting mass killers of history.

I suppose many people are unable to be satisfied with normal lives and want to fantasize about amoral, exciting and gregarious personalities that are in the limelight.
