Are conspiracy theories lies?

Are conspiracy theories lies?

Most of the conspiracy theories that I've discussed are stupid lies made up by people who see conspiracy in everything. Some of these are harmful if not actually dangerous.

Examples in this category include the idea that Barack Obama wasn't a citizen of the United States. They claim that his Hawaiian birth certificate is a fraud or that his father was British, meaning that he was not natural born. Actually, the reason that that the clause was added to the Constitution is because the founding fathers thought that the British would take the country back over by implanting a illegal American as president. That's not a problem nowadays.

Another crazy idea is that the Treaty of 1213 between King John of England and Pope Innocent III on October 3, 1213 assigned all land of England to the Pope, which allowed him to claim dominion over the whole world with the Crown becoming the executive governing body. Some people believe that this is still the case. Oh well, that didn't work well, did it?

Another lie is that the Vatican backed the Nazis. This is based on the concordats that the Vatican signed with Germany to restore the Gentile Roman Aryan system. People claim that the Vatican helped Nazi war criminals to escape to safety. None of these make sense. There was no Gentile Roman Aryan system and the Nazi regime tried to destroy the Catholic Church in Germany.

An adjunct to this is the idea that the Vatican is satanic. I realize that the Vatican's history is sordid in places but this would be a ridiculous idea. The Church has a crazy history but it still is the location of the Vicar of Christ, not Satan.
As in the above case, the Knights of Malta, a Vatican equivalent to the Freemasons, is implicated in many schemes all over the world, including the CIA. This is just another secret society, like the York Rites.

The above is the reason that the Jesuits are supposedly the Illuminati and linked to all sorts of conspiracies. If that's the case then the latest Pope is an member of the Illuminati, which doesn't make sense because the Illuminati is opposed to the Vatican, as revealed in Dan Brown's 'Da Vinci Code.'

The Vatican is not the only boogey man. Zionists are implicated in conspiracies to take over the world and control the banking industry. This has spawned the idea that the Zionists allowed the Jews to be murdered by Nazi Germany to gain sympathy in the rest of the world. That's a bold faced lie.

It turns out that all organized religions are suspected of harboring secret desires to control the world by twisting truths to their advantage and manipulating people who think that they are doing good for God. Organized religions rely on the fact that faith is a powerful drug that is addictive because it plays on spiritual reality.

It wasn't supposed to be this way. The founders of the major religions didn't want them to become political powers. Jesus only wanted his disciples to spread the good news that God loves them. I seriously doubt that Mohammad wanted Islam to turn into a basis for terrorism. Abraham only wanted his people to be united in the worship of God. All of the lies about these things occurred after the religions' beginnings.

So, for the most part, conspiracy theories are lies designed to titillate and create interest in someone's blog.

Thanks for reading.
