April walks to cheer tryouts surprised at how many people wanted to try out.

A girl walks up to April "Are you the captain?"

April nods then goes to the table "Number 1!" She calls to go to the stage.

A tall girl steps onto the stage. "Hi my name is Amber and my pronouns are she/her." She takes a deep breath before doing a backflip followed by a back handspring into a roll then stands up again.

April claps "Good job." She writes a note down "Next!"

***Time skip***

April reviews her notes as she walks down the line of cheerleaders "You all did so good today!" She turns and walks the other way "But there is only 5 spots on the cheerleading team this year and those spots go to Amber-" two of the girls hug the brown haired girl "May-" one of the girls jumps up and down in excitement "Madeline-" one of them squeals "Layla-" one of them gasps "And Willow."

The other girls clap politely. Some of them look like they're about to cry and one of them actually is.

April sighs "It was a hard decision good luck next year. Cheerleading squad come to the stage with me."

The new girls come to the stage and April sits wanting to talk to them.

They all sit four of them excited one of them nervous. The nervous one is Layla.

Another girl walks over "H-hi."

"Hi I'm sorry the cheerleading tryouts are done." April says

"I know I don't want to try out I'm here to translate for Layla."

April nods "She speaks a different language?"

"No no she's deaf." The girl shakes her head sitting next to the nervous girl which April thinks is Layla.

"Oh ok. I don't mean to be rude but how do you stay on beat?" April asks Layla

Layla signs and the other girl speaks "I can feel the vibrations and it's totally okay thank you for talking at me instead of Makenna."

April nods then turns to all of them "So this isn't like middle school and I know I sound like a typical high schooler but it really isn't. You must always try your best and if you don't that means I have to take one of you off the team ok? I don't like doing that but if I have to I will. Also.." April stands up grabbing the pompoms handing one to each of the girls "Have fun." She smiles pretending to drop a mic and leaving.
