Chapter 1

Castiel's POV~

Finally! I'm out of home schooling!! I mean, I like my mom, but it gets lonely without any friends... Why was I only home schooled until high school? Good question!

So my family is really religious. That's it. That's where the whole problem stems from. For example, all of us are named after angels which kind of sucks. As a result of their religious beliefs, my parents decided to homeschool us until they were sure that we would not be twisted by the "evils" of our misguided classmates. I'm the only sibling who had to wait until 11th grade to go into public schools - everyone else, including my younger brother Gabriel, got to enter high school in 9th grade. That was because I was one of the more free-thinking kids, so my parents decided I was "unstable" in my beliefs. Also, there's the fact that I'm bi. Gabriel is too, but he didn't make the mistake of telling that to our family.

So, here's a list of my siblings:

Lucifer, in 12th grade

Me, in 11th grade

And Gabriel, in 9th grade.

Seemed like it would be a longer list, huh. Well, my parents are Naomi and Metatron. They can be absolute torture... at least Metatron has a bit of a sense of humor. They insist that we shouldn't call them mom or dad because dad/father should be used for God, and Naomi doesn't want to insinuate that she is married to God. Kind of crazy, I know.

So now I am finally going to start public school... I hope I make some friends. Otherwise, I don't know how I will survive. I definitely can't look to Lucifer, because he is too unreliable - he is so bipolar that he could be laughing and making jokes with you one minute and stabbing you in the back and dancing in your blood the next. Naomi says he is just embracing his given name, but I doubt it.

*beep beep beep*

My alarm clock went off, waking me up from a dream. It was a weird dream, it was almost like I was narrating my own life in a book or something. Whatever, it was just a dream.

I got up and put on the suit-like outfit Naomi had laid out for me. She said I had to always look my best. That has to be utter rubbish when used in referring to school, of all things. Whatever. At least she let me pick out one part of the outfit - aka my trenchcoat. Uncle Chuck gave it to me for my birthday, and I still love it.

I moved on to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth. I tried to tame my hair, but failed miserably. Oh well. While I was rushing downstairs, I ran into Gabe.

"Hey Cas! Excited?" Gabe grinned, a lollipop in his mouth as usual.

"Yes, Gabe, I am excited. You clearly are too." I grinned at him.

"Man, I can't wait to see the people! Wait until they get a load of my pranks!" Gabe laughed evilly, and I immediately felt sorry for everyone at Supernatural High (totally original, I know XD).

"Be careful not to wake Naomi and Metatron. They won't be happy if they learn of your plans." I warned him, and Gabe dialed down the noise a few notches.

"C'mon, I can smell Lucie's pancakes already!" Gabe bounded down the stairs.

After eating some of Lucifer's delicious pancakes we finished packing our bags. There was suspiciously little on the list - two books, one binder, paper, and pencils. That's it. And only one of the books is being used currently - the other one is for the second half of the school year. But the school is small, so it has to be expected. Lawrence, Kansas is a very small town. There are only around 400 kids in the entire school.

Lucifer, Gabe and I were outside waiting at the bus stop. When the bus finally arrived, there was only one kid on it. When we got on, Lucifer went to sit with him, and they started talking immediately. The only bit I heard was that his name was Michael.

Gabe and I sat in the front end of the bus, and I stared out the window while Gabe played a videogame. We stopped at the light in front of the school's turnoff, and an old, sleek, black car rolled up beside us. The driver was blaring AC/DC music, and I could see a boy with long shaggy hair in the passenger seat and a case of some kind in the back seat. I couldn't see the driver because of the angle.

The passenger said something, and the music turned down so that I could barely hear it. I sighed in relief - it was too loud even from inside the bus.

We were finally able to pull into the school, and as I got off the bus I saw that the black car had pulled into a parking space. They were getting out, and I could see that the passenger was tall, and the driver was shorter than him, but still a bit taller than me. (They are shorter than in the show cuz they are younger :P) The boys finished retrieving their bags and walked towards us at the entrance.

The shorter one had blondish hair, and he wore a leather jacket, flannel, worn jeans, and combat boots. He had a bag like one of those mailmen - the single strap, over the shoulder sort of courrier bag. The bag was brown, and had a blood red pentagram (like the anti-possession tattoo) on the front with "Hunters" written in large black letters next to it. My parents would hate him instantly because of his bag. He had a confident, I-don't-care-what-you-think look about him.

The tall one was dressed pretty similarly, but without the leather jacket and sneakers instead of combat boots. He was more nervous, but he had a slight air of confidence similar to his friend's. He had a pentagram pin, and his backpack was a normal style one.

I looked away, pulling Gabe inside. I asked him if he knew where the office was. He just shrugged and went back to his game. I guess I will have to ask them...

"Excuse me!" I called to them as they walked past, and they stopped and turned to us.

"Hey, you must be the new kids. Castiel and Gabriel Novak, right?" The shorter one said in a gruff voice, extending his hand.

"Yes... how do you know our names?" I asked, shaking his hand.

"Word travels fast in this town." The short one said. I took a good look at him, and realized that he was wearing a sort of amulet. When I looked at his face, I was almost knocked away... his eyes were so green... I shook myself out of my daze from his eyes. I could get lost in them.

"Also, our uncle is the principal." The tall one spoke up.

"Yea, that helps." The short one admitted. "I'm Dean Winchester, and this is my little brother Sam."

"I'm Castiel, and the one playing the video game is Gabriel. But you probably already knew that." I said, and Gabe finally looked up.

"Woah... dude, you're so tall!!! I'm gonna call you Samsquatch." Gabriel made a beeline for Sam, and jumped up on his back. "Onwards, my trusty Samsquatch! To infinity and beyond!!"

"Dean, help!" Sam said, stumbling under Gabe's weight, but Dean just chuckled.

"C'mon Sammy, it's a good chance to make a new friend. Also, he seems like a funny kid." Dean said, and Gabe grinned at him.

"So, do you think you guys can show us where the office is? We have to check in and get our schedules." I asked.

"Yea, it's... hang on..." Dean was distracted by his phone going off in his pocket. "S***, Sam, I gotta take this. Show them where to go, alright?" Dean said after reading the text.

"Sure. Who is it this time?" Sam asked.

"Vamps attacking vics, no biggie. Just gotta straighten them out." Dean replied, and then he ran off down a hallway.

Sam headed off in a different direction, with Gabe still crowing about something on his back. I hurried to catch up, but I was really confused.

What just happened???

So, yea. I do good? See ya later, my fluffies!
