Chapter 20- The Aftermath

Sorry about the wait guys, college has been crazy lately, but I'm here now! Shall we see what happens next?

To say the next day was awkward was an understatement; I'm someone who had never had much positive contact in my life, and suddenly, I had a boyfriend. I walked down to breakfast and shyly sat in a corner trying to evade all attention with a book, when I suddenly felt someone sitting next to me, and an arm wrapping around my waist.

"Good morning Risa, how did you sleep?" I looked at Kyoya in confusion, he had never been one to ask trivial questions like this before. He leaned in and gave me a quick kiss on my forehead and I blushed, looking around and nearly choking on laughter as I noticed the different reactions from the Hosts. Haruhi looked smug and about ready to explode from satisfaction, Tamaki was smiling at us, but he still looked shocked at how bold Kyoya was being. The twins just looked shocked, Honey had a slightly creepy smug grin on his face, and I even saw a shadow of a smile ghosting Mori's usually expressionless face; though there was a hint of something sad in his eyes.

It wasn't long before someone exploded, "Wait, what?! When did this happen?" The twins shouted out, "Why the heck didn't you tell us?"

"So you made your move, huh Kyoya" Honey said happily, "I was wondering what was taking you so long to do something; I guess what they say about adrenaline making people more willing to act is true then!"

I decided right then that my face was probably going to be some shade of red for the foreseeable future, and so I buried my face into Kyoya's chest and I felt him chuckle.

"Not that I agree with people prying into my life, but for your information, this didn't happen until last night; and before you ask, nothing inappropriate happened." The twins looked at each other and grinned, bringing a small thrill of dread to my heart.

I ate as quickly as I could, ignoring everyone else in the room as best I could, then made a speedy exit, aiming to go pack up my stuff so we could leave as quickly as possible. I had barely made it out the door when I felt two pairs of hands grab my arms and begin steering me in the direction of the sitting room.

"So, you and Kyoya?" Hikaru said after they stood in front of me, "I'll admit, I find that surprising!"

I furrowed my eyebrows at that, "Why does that surprise you?"

Kaoru answered, "Well, you are sweet, and Kyoya is kinda the opposite. I guess we just didn't see him being the one that you would end up with!"

I grinned, "You think I saw this coming? I am about as surprised as you! Just curious though, who did you think I would go for then?"

Both of them answered together, "Mori" then Hikaru continued, "Yeah, we figured that strong and silent was more your type; besides, he acts differently around you, so we just assumed that you would end up together."

I nodded slightly, taking that in, "So, now that we got that out of the way, now we can talk about the more important things, like what was it like to kiss the shadow king?"

My eyes widened and I panicked internally, was it really that obvious? "Why do you think we kissed?"

They looked at each other and grinned, "It's obvious" Hikaru continued, "Well, he kissed you on the head this morning, and he never shows affection like that." "Yeah, that and you turned bright red whenever he is mentioned, so we just guessed, and it looks like we were spot on!" Kaoru continued cheerfully.

"You two are the devil." I murmured darkly, then sighed, "Fine, we kissed and now we're together."

"Risa, that wasn't what we were asking and you know it. What was it like?" Hikaru glared at me playfully.

"I don't know how to answer that. It was a kiss. I don't really have any other experiences to draw off, so I can't give anything more detailed than that."

"We were asking about the technical end of it, was there tongue? How long was it? Was there more than one kiss?" Kaoru explained and if it were possible, my face flushed even more.

"You guys, no!" I said, but they just kept staring at me, "Fine, no there was no tongue, I don't really quite get that concept, it was probably less than thirty seconds, and there was only one kiss. Although, now that I think about it, Kyoya probably would have kept going if Tamaki hadn't interrupted us."

"Wait, what?! Tamaki walked in on you two? This just keeps getting better!" Hikaru cried out then started laughing, and I looked to Kaoru for an explanation.

"Oh, it's nothing really, we just found Tamaki putting a blindfold and earplugs on Haruhi, and so this just gives us even more ammo to use against Tamaki." I grinned trying to figure out what in the heck happened, when I remembered the thunderstorm that happened last night. Haruhi had told me that she was terrified by thunder when I stayed at her house a while ago; so, I was imagining that Tamaki found out and was trying to help her, which was misunderstood by the other Hosts.

"So, what are you going to now?" They asked together and I cocked my head, very confused. Hikaru sighed when he saw that, "Risa, you do realize that you are living with the man you are now dating, right?"

When he said that, I paled, "Oh, I had forgotten about that... Actually, I have no clue, but I probably shouldn't keep living with the Ootori's. I can only see that leading to awkward situations." They nodded and I considered my options.

"You could always live with us, but I can't see Kyoya being too happy that his girlfriend is staying with other boys."

I nodded than smiled, "I've got it! I can ask Haruhi if I can live with them again, her dad loves me, and I can always help out with stuff so I'm not a burden!" I jumped up to take care of that, "Thanks guys, you were a lot of help!"

I ran through the house until I found Haruhi, who was packing up her things, "Hey Haruhi, I was wondering if I could live with you for a little bit?"

She looked at me in confusion, "What?"

"Sorry, that must not have made any sense, but I was talking to the twins, and I realized that I am currently living with my new boyfriend, and I don't feel entirely comfortable with that. The twins offered for me to live with them, but they also pointed out that Kyoya probably wouldn't want me living with another guy, so I was wondering if you would be okay with me coming to live with you. I know it's sudden, but I don't have a ton of other options, and I know that I get along well with your Dad, but I didn't want to assume anything and just say I'm moving in."

At that point, I realized that I hadn't breathed for a while, so I had to stop to gasp in breath, but before I could continue, Haruhi started talking. "No, it would be fine. Dad has actually been asking when you would be able to come over again, he misses you. Though, between you and me, I think he just misses having someone around that he can fuss over, since I don't normally let him do that to me."

She smiled at me, and I returned it, relieved that I had one less stressful thing to deal with. "Thanks, Haruhi, I have to go back home- I mean back to the Ootori's- once more to get my stuff, but I'll probably be able to come over by tonight, if that's alright."

"Of course it is! That'll give me time to get everything ready." I turned around and started to leave with a smile when I remembered something else I needed to tell her.

"Oh, and just so you know, I plan on helping to pay for some things. I will not simply mooch off your guys' kindness."

"I understand, but it's not me you'll have to convince to let you help, it'll be my dad, I guarantee that he won't want you to do anything." I nodded then left, now I just needed to break the news to Kyoya.

***

"No, absolutely not." I had guessed that Kyoya wouldn't want me to leave his home, but I didn't think that he would be this vehement.

"I'm sorry Kyoya, but this is how it's going to be. I simply don't feel comfortable with living with the guy I'm dating; It just doesn't seem right." We glared at each other for a few seconds as he thought of other reasons for me to stay with him.

"Risa, you told me that you were working with my Father to build back up your family's company. Wouldn't it be easier to do that if you were still living in our home?"

"I smiled, "Kyoya, just because it would be easier, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. I know that I'll have to work harder, but I just wouldn't feel right staying in the same house as you now that we are together." He sighed and I realized that I had gotten the point across, but I could tell he didn't like it.

"Just think, now that we won't be living together, now the dates we have will be that much more special!"

"I know you're right, you don't have to try to make it better." He moodily said then pulled me into a hug, "I just don't like there being distance between us after I just got you." He mumbled into my hair; all I could do was sigh and squeeze him a little bit tighter.

"I know, but this makes our relationship just a little bit more normal if I'm being honest. Anyways, we have to go home now so I can pack up a bit and talk to your Father about continuing my lessons." He nodded and then reluctantly let me go, I went up on my toes and kissed his cheek hesitantly and walked away to pack up my stuff.

***

I walked into the Ootori's and Kyoya asked a maid to pack my stuff up for me, despite my many protests; I just shook my head and went to talk to Kyoya's dad before I lost all my courage.

I knocked and a gruff, "enter" answered; I pulled the door open and stepped inside hesitantly. "Mr. Ootori sir? I just wanted to tell you that I am moving out and I wanted to come up with a schedule for my lessons."

He looked at me in a bit of confusion and asked, "May I ask what brought this about?"

I froze, did I really want to tell him that I was now dating his son? He wasn't the most understanding of me, and I knew that the relationship between Kyoya and him was not the best. That being said, I also didn't know what else to tell him, "I felt that it was inappropriate to continue living here considering the recent relationship change between Kyoya and I."

"What do you mean by that?"

"We are dating now sir."

He slowly nodded his head, "Very well then, I will contact you tomorrow on when your instructors will be available for lessons; you can simply have them at the company offices." He nodded slightly and went back to his paperwork, effectively dismissing me; which was an invitation I took gladly, getting out of there as quickly as I could.

I practically ran to my room and tried to help, which was not allowed, and I was sent to go enjoy time with 'Master Kyoya', which I agreed to after much grumbling. I called Haruhi to confirm and we chatted for a little bit, then I went to the library to see if I could borrow a book or three.

"I thought I would find you here." I looked over my shoulder and saw Kyoya leaning on the door frame; I smiled and waved him over.

"Hey you, I was just trying to decide if I could get away with bring a few books with me to the Fujioka's, would that be okay?"

"They wouldn't be missed, so I see no issues with it." He reached over my head to a shelf I couldn't reach and pulled off a book, leaning into me as he did so, "This has always been one of my favorites, perhaps you could give it a try." He whispered with his lips right next to my ear and I shuttered.

I turned around and realize how close he was, I could almost feel his body on mine, and my body temperature began rising. "You know, we never did finish our moment last night." He murmured then leaned in a bit, "I would feel horrible that we left such a great moment like that, so I feel like it would be the best thing for us to do the right thing." He kept leaning in, and though I wanted to give in and just let him kiss me, I couldn't; I slipped under his arm and stood several feet away, so I had a clear route to the door if I needed it.

"I would love nothing more than to kiss you, but we haven't even been on a date, Kyoya. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to work for the next kiss." He looked very disgruntled, but I smiled at him gently, and leaned in a little, "Just think, you will be wanting the next kiss so much more if we wait for it, it'll be good, I promise!" As I said that, a sound came out of his throat that could almost be compared to a growl and I laughed, when a maid came it, interrupting our little moment.

"I'm so sorry Miss Risa and Master Kyoya, but your luggage is ready and in the car." I nodded and we walked to the limo together. To my surprise, he climbed in after me and grabbed my hand, holding it close as we started off.

"I'm not going to lie and say I'm disappointed Risa, but I would like to do things right between us, so I will ask you now, will you do me the honor of going on a date with me in two days?"

I smiled, "Of course Kyoya, I would like nothing more!" He gave me a quick hug, then let me go as the door opened. I climbed out and accepted the handle to my suitcases, "I'll see you tomorrow at school Kyoya!" I left and walked up the stairs to Haruhi's apartment.

When I knocked, the door flew open and I was jerked inside, being pulled into a energetic hug, "Oh Risa, my darling, it is so good to see you again, you really can't leave for that long. Haruhi told me what you had been going through, and I am so sorry, you can stay here forever and never be hurt again, okay daughter?"

"Okay Dad, release, let the poor girl breath, she's hasn't even been here a minute and you're already smothering her." Ranka reluctantly let me go and I smiled at him and Haruhi who was standing off to the side.

"I missed you too, Ranka, it just hasn't been the same without someone there to beat on Mario Kart." I smiled sweetly and Ranka got even more excited than he was before, if that was at all possible.

"Yes! I have the Wii all set up and a snack, but first let's get your luggage inside, then we can talk and play Mario Kart, and do each other's hair and nails, and this is going to be so much fun, isn't it? I laughed and nodded, following the amazing man inside while Haruhi just looked at me apologetically.

"I'm sorry Risa, ever since he heard you were coming to live with us, he's been insane."

"It's okay, I've missed him too, so I don't mind; it's a lot of fun actually."

I walked inside and I heard her muttering behind me, "It's fun until you've been listening to this all afternoon, but sure, whatever." I just laughed and went to unpack, while being interrogated by Ranka. I missed this family, because they were the first family to show me what loving someone really meant.
