Chapter Three- Tour of the Mansion

Mansion: Tessa's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning, and I smiled proudly. I finally found someone that I could truly love and trust. However, I looked to my right and saw that Dante wasn't in bed with me. I felt a little sad at first, but then I smelled something in the kitchen. I followed the scent and as I got closer to the kitchen, I heard music. I peeked into the room and saw that he was making breakfast. The electric stove seemed to have a built-in stereo system and Dante was singing along to some really good music.

🎶I wanna start a revolution
A type of personal solution
We all have got our own pollution
It's all about the execution

You got something to say
Your hands are tied
Open your mouth, open it wide
Let the freedom begin
Get on the floor, just let it drop
Don't it feel good, don't it feel hot
Feel the fire within

I wanna see you strut (strut, strut)
Come on walk for me
Strut (strut, strut)
How you wanna be

Everybody's looking for some love
But they don't know
How to let it all hang out
And that's why they're solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo

We're a complicated nation
And now we're in a situation
Let's take a make-believe vacation
And get yourself some validation

You got something to say
Your hands are tied
Open your mouth, open it wide
Let the freedom begin
Get on the floor, just let it drop
Don't it feel good, don't it feel hot
Feel the fire within

I wanna see you strut (strut, strut)
Come on walk for me
Strut (strut, strut)
How you wanna be

Everybody's looking for some love
But they don't know
How to let it all hang out
And that's why they're solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo

I'll be your mirror
Darling let you hair down
Show me what you're working with and let me see you
Strut, strut
Strut, strut
How you wanna be

Everybody's looking for some love
But they don't know
How to let it all hang out
And that's why they're solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo (solo, solo)
Don't want to be solo

Strut for me and show me what you're working with
Strut for me and show me what you're working with🎶

I smiled as I walked into the kitchen while Dante was busy laying out plates and silverware at the dining room table. The oven went off and Garath walked over to pull out a tray of muffins. As Dante set the muffins on the counter to cool off, he looked over his shoulder and smiled.

"Good morning." He said.

"Good morning to you." I replied.

I watched as Dante fried bacon and prepared eggs. Mine were scrambled while Dante's were sunny-side up.

"You really like your eggs to be sunny-side up don't you?" I asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do. I've had them scrambled quite a few times. And my grandparents used to make them runny. But I always liked sunny-side up the best." Dante answered.

He brought the muffins to the table and set them down before getting drinks. He poured me a glass of orange juice and made himself a piping hot cup of coffee. I tried one of the muffins and it was absolutely amazing.

"These are good muffins. Where did you learn to bake?" I asked.

"My mother taught me. We baked a lot of things when I was a young boy. I loved baking with my mother, especially since we always made gingerbread cookies for Christmas season. My dad on the other hand taught me how to cook. I even learned how to fry stuff on the grill." Dante answered.

"Sounds like you've grown up fast." I said, laughing.

Dante laughed in return.

"That I did. And I'm proud of it. Maybe someday, we can have ourselves a cookout." He said.

"Sounds great. I love cookouts." I replied.

"Who doesn't?" Dante asked sarcastically.

We both laughed.

"By the way, what song was that? I mean, it was fabulous." I asked.

"That my dear, was Strut by Adam Lambert." Dante answered.

*Timeskip: Tessa's house*

Dante's P.O.V.

After breakfast, Tess and I went to her parents' house to gather her belongings.

"I heard that you have a racetrack at your house." Her father said.

"That I do. It reminds me of my days as a racecar driver." I replied.

"How come you don't race anymore?" Tessa's mother asked.

"Because I quit as a result of regret. The last race I had was at the Indy 500. They had a custom-designed track with insane jumps, loop-de-loops and even rings of fire. Oh, that guy. The guy in first place was driving a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV while I was in my 1985 Lamborghini Countach 5000qv. That guy was an awesome driver and he had amazing skills. I thought he was gonna win for sure, but then I got lucky. I spotted an opening and I slipped right into first place. He never saw me coming. In fact, he looked as if he was about to be hit by a truck. But his surprise ended up distracting him from an upcoming jump over a deep pond. The finish line was on the other side and I managed to win but he slid right off the edge and fell into the icy cold water." I explained.

"What happened to him?" Mr. Majors asked.

"I quickly got out of my car, and made a desperate attempt to save him. By the time I got him out of his car, he was already passed out. But I didn't give up hope. I dragged him out of the pond and performed CPR to revive him. A few minutes later he started breathing while an ambulance was called. He pulled through, but I was scared to death that I almost accidentally killed a man for no good reason. Out of guilt, I gave up racing all together. I didn't feel the same after that, so I designed my own track at home that I can race on, with holographic racers to compete with. This track can be made into any fashion I want and I always have a blast racing on that thing." I answered.

"Well, you'll have to show us that track. I think our daughter would love to see you race." Mrs. Majors said.

"That I would. You and daddy always told me of how great Dante is, but I never got the chance to see it for myself." Tess replied, as she came out with the last of her suitcases.

We loaded her cases into the trunk of my Lincoln Navigator Ultimate.

Tess sat in the front passenger seat while her family sat in the backseat.

"Wait till you see Dante's house. It is huge." She said.

"Really?" Her little brother asked.

"Your sister's not kidding, buddy. I actually do live in a big mansion with lots of space. I built my personal racetrack under the house." I answered.

"You mean, you built an underground racetrack?" Tessa's father asked.

"That I did. It even comes with seats where friends and family can watch me race." I answered.

"Sweet. I'm excited to see your racing skills in action." Tess replied.

Dante drove smoothly until we arrived home. My family stared in awe at the sight of our house.

"Whoa. That really is a big house." My father said.

"Indeed. I bet he has a lot of stuff in there." My mother replied.

"That I do. We'll start with the garage." Dante said, as he parked the SUV in the garage.

As we got out of the vehicle, Dante snapped his fingers and the lights turned themselves on. My family was shocked to see how many cars Dante had.

"Wow. So many cool cars, it's impossible to decide which one to take for a spin." My daddy said.

"Yep. I designed them myself. The Lincoln Navigator is just a car that I got from my parents as a gift. I only use it for camping though. And I am planning on taking a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains." Dante replied.

Dante led us inside and his living room was amazing. He had a 120" wide flat screen TV with eight speaker surround sound. On separate shelves on the wall were large selections of DVDs and CDs. There were also a lot of paintings and portraits on the walls. He showed my family the master bedroom and they loved the space theme. My family admired the room while he grabbed his guitar and put it on his back. Dante had a couple of other cool bedrooms. One of them was full of blacklights, and the other was like a disco from the 1970s.

When we went to the kitchen, Dante led us to the basement door. Right above the door was a neon sign that said Man Cave.

"Now, who wants to see the basement?" He asked.

"I think we all wanna see the basement." I answered.

Dante opened the door and led us into the basement. There were even more blacklights, and there were lots of cool things down here.

"Wow. This is a big basement. Looks like fun down here too." My daddy said.

The first thing Dante showed us down here was a pool table.

"This here is my pool table. If any of you wanna play a game of Billiards, help yourself." He said.

"You play Billiards?" My brother asked.

"Yep. I used to play Billiards with my own father. It was loads of fun. But here, the blacklights make it even cooler." Dante answered.

The next thing we saw was an arcade.

"An air hockey table? Nice." I said.

"And a Viper Night Drivin' Pinball machine? Awesome." My daddy replied.

Next up was an indoor bowling alley.

"This is my own personal bowling alley. Bowling is one of my favorite hobbies. If anybody wants to play a round of bowling, I'm all game." Dante said.

"A bowling alley in your basement? This place is awesome." Daddy replied.

The last thing in the basement was a disco area where he plays his guitar and performs for a holographic audience.

"Care to watch me perform?" Dante asked.

"I thought you did that last night." My mother said.

"Yes, but I only sang there. As you can see, I play guitar." Dante replied, as he took the instrument off of his back.

"Well, in that case, go for it." My mother said.

"A Dean Dimebag Razorback electric guitar? Now that is a mean lookin' guitar." My daddy replied.

Dante snapped his fingers and the disco lights began flashing. Dante played his guitar along with the music and sang an awesome rock song.

Living it up when I'm going down🎶

My family and I clapped and cheered for Dante as the music stopped.

"Thank you. Thank you very much." He said.

"That was amazing. I didn't know you played guitar." My mother replied.

"That I do. Now, who wants to see my Zen Garden?" Dante asked.

We followed him to the backyard where we were greeted by a beautiful Japanese garden.

"It sure is peaceful out here." My father said.

"And beautiful." I replied, as I watched some Koi fish swimming in the pond.

"What's that?" My brother asked, pointing at what appeared to be a paperhouse.

"That's my own personal dojo. I designed it with the same kind of technology as the Holodeck from Star Trek." Dante answered.

We went inside the dojo and it was bigger than it looked on the inside.

"Wow. This is a pretty big dojo." My daddy said.

"Indeed. And having technology reminiscent of the Holodeck from Star Trek? You must train hard to keep your skills sharp." My mother replied.

"That I do. And now, let us see what's under the house." Dante said.

He led us to a staircase with what seemed to be a keypad.

"I know what you're thinking. This looks like an ordinary staircase. But in reality, it is a secret door." Dante said.

He input a code and the midsection of the stairs rose up, revealing another set of stairs. We went down the stairs and found ourselves in an underground home theater.

"Welcome, to the Batcave." Dante said.

The next thing was an underground swimming pool.

"I also have an extra bedroom down here." Dante said, as he led us to a Batman themed room.

"Awesome." My brother replied.

At last, we went to the underground arena where Dante's racetrack was. My family and I watched as he used a computer to select a design for the track. He chose a design with a lot of jumps, loop-de-loops, and rings of fire. One of the jumps went over a pit full of huge spikes, and another one went over a pool of lava.

"I'll be right back. I'm gonna go and get a car." Dante said.

"Go right ahead. We'll be watching from the front row seats." I replied.

A few minutes later, we saw Dante drive onto the track in his silver Ferrari 512 TR.

Holographic racers appeared all around him and each one drove a different car. The one in front of him was a blue 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe.

The starting light powered up and the red light came on. Then the yellow light turned on, and finally, the green light. As soon as the green light came on, the racers began shooting forward as their tires screeched and made clouds of smoke. Thanks to some surrounding screens, we could see the racers on different parts of the track. Dante was doing an excellent job keeping up with the Shelby Daytona Coupe. As they came to a tight turn, Dante drifted right past his opponent and took the lead. Now that Dante was in first place, we cheered for him, as we watched him drive over ramps and clear the jumps like a pro. He even jumped through the rings of fire as if they were nothing. Soon, he came to a loop-de-loop that led to the ramp that was at the edge of the lava pool. I saw Dante activate the nitrous in his car and he cleared the jump as if it was nothing more than a speedbump. Dante crossed the finish line and drifted to a stop as the holograms disappeared. Dante returned the Ferrari to his garage before he rejoined us in the Batcave.

"That was awesome. I'll have to race you on that track sometime." I said.

"Yes. That would be fun. It's been a while since I've had a challenger." Dante replied.

Dante's POV

That night, Tess and I went to the master bedroom while her family had already left. She looked at me and smiled.

"You certainly have a lot of fun stuff to do here." Tess said.

"Yes. And it feels great that I can share the joy with a good friend." I replied.
