Chapter One - Student Recommendation
At the principal's office in UA High, Principal Nezu was speaking with Aizawa about the upcoming Provisional License Exams. As they did, a knock came at the door.
Nezu: Come on in!
The door opens as Pan enters the office with a smile on his face.
Nezu: Ah Pan! I see you have returned! How was your....field trip!
Pan: It was quite memorable! Let's just say that these students are more than ready for the Provisional License Exams!
Aizawa: Let's hope you're right Pan. The Provisional License Exams is in three days.
That time limit didn't seem to bother Pan in the slightest. He had full confidence that the Argonauts as well as the other students of Class 1-A would excel.
Pan: Oh! Before I forget, I believe I found a most worthy student who would not only excel in UA, but in Class 1-A as well!
Nezu: A new student you say? How interesting.
As Nezu said that, a teenage girl wearing a tunic entered the room. The girl's attire puzzled both Nezu and Aizawa.
Pan: Allow me to introduce Talia! I've known her since she was a little girl!
Talia: Hi!
Aizawa: You trained her, Pan?
Pan: Why of course, my friend! She is well versed in the magic arts. Her Quirk is rather formidable as well!
Nezu: Her Quirk?
Talia: My.....Quirk is called Siren. Like a Siren, I can use my voice to put people in a trance and hypnotize them.
Upon hearing about Talia's Quirk, Nezu and Aizawa became more curious. Talia felt shy at meeting the two UA faculty members. As Aizawa approached her, Talia felt a little intimidated by his stern demeanor.
Pan: It's quite all right Talia! Shota Aizawa may seem light a frightening fellow, but I assure you that he actually quite pleasant!
Pan's reassurance gave some comfort to Talia as Aizawa studied her.
Aizawa: You want to be a Hero, kid?
Talia: Y...yes.
Aizawa: I hope you know that being a Hero isn't easy. If you end up in my class, I'll put you through wringer like I do all my students. If you're not in this 100%, then you have no business being in my class. Is that understood?
Talia took a moment to think on this. Her experiences with not only her mother Calypsa, but in fighting the monster Typhon showed her that she was more than willing to go through hell to become a Hero.
Talia: I....I'm ready for whatever UA has to offer me.
Pan: I assure you that Talia is more than capable of being a truly splendid Hero! I trained her extensively!
Nezu took a moment to reflect on Pan's offer. While this was unorthodox, he trusted Pan's judgement. With the retirement of All Might as well as the looming threat from both the League of Villains and the Blacktongues, they needed all the Heroes they could get.
Nezu: I trust you understand how unorthodox this is Pan. Do you believe she has what it takes to be a student a UA?
Pan: Talia has what it takes and more. She will make a splendid Hero in this fine establishment! I would stake my reputation on that!
As Pan did that, Nezu became convinced.
Nezu: Very well Pan. Talia. Through Pan's recommendation, you are hereby enrolled in UA. Welcome to the Hero Course of UA High. You will be placed in Class 1-A. You've already met your homeroom teacher: Shota Aizawa.
Talia then looked at Aizawa. His stern demeanor still intimidated Talia.
Talia: A....a pleasure to meet you Mr. Aizawa! I'm looking forward to learning from you!
Aizawa: If Pan thinks you're good, that's good enough for me. Bu don't think I'll go easy on you just because you're Pan's student. You won't get any kind of special treatment from me. If you really want to be a Hero, then you're going to have to prove it to no only myself and your classmates, but to yourself.
Talia took a moment to reflect on Aizawa's words. While it wasn't as cheerful as Pan's, it was still invaluable wisdom that Talia could get behind. Her shy demeanor soon evolved into a determined look.
Talia: I've been through my fair share of trials and tribulations. Pan has trained me to the best of his abilities. I don't intend to let him or anyone else down!
As Talia voiced her resolve to Aizawa, Aizawa smirked to himself.
Aizawa: (Yep. She's definitely Pan's student. She'll fit in just fine.)
Pan: I couldn't have said it better myself Talia! I have no doubts that you'll go on to do great things for this institution! In the words of this fine establishment: Go Beyond. Plus Ultra!
As Pain said that, Talia was both emboldened and inspired by Pan's words of encouragement. In that moment, Talia was ready for whatever challenges UA had to offer.
Nezu: Before I forget, here is your uniform.
Nezu then hands her a UA School Uniform. While initially confused, Pan was quick to inform her of the purpose of the uniform.
Aizawa: All right kid. I'll see you in class tomorrow morning. I hope you're ready for what's to come.
Talia: I am.
After that, Pan led Talia to her resting quarters within the UA Dorms. Talia had begun her journey to becoming a Pro Hero in UA. Knowing the challenge ahead of her, Talia was prepared to face this new challenge head on. As for Pan, he was excited for what his protege would bring to UA.
