After joining Mirko, Pan along with Talia and Shoji followed her lead as she resumed her patrol. As she did, Pan began to hum a song to himself. Mirko looks at Pan in confusion.

Mirko: Are you....okay?

Pan: I am quite all right, my rabbit friend! Today is such a wonderful day for adventure and heroism!

Mirko found herself puzzled by Pan's mannerisms. She had never met anyone quite like him. Suddenly, a woman's scream was heard, alerting the Heroes.

Talia: Someone's in trouble!

Shoji: It came from the alleyway!

Pan: Then let us be off! We have no time to waste!

With that, Pan and Mirko along with Talia and Shoji made their way to the alleyway where the screams were heard. As they reached the alleyway, a woman ran out of the alleyway screaming.

Woman: Help me! Help me!

Before the woman could run to the Heroes, an arrow was shot through her back and into her heart. The woman was dead before she hit the floor. Shock fell on the group as Pan spotted the woman's killers. In the alleyway were a group of Blacktongue Assassins. 

Pan: Blacktongues! 

Mirko: You'll pay for this!

Blacktongue Assassin: You shall join this woman in Hecate's loving embrace! Brothers! Show no mercy! 

The Blacktongues began attacking the Heroes with their blades. Talia and Shoji provided support while Pan and Mirko took the fight to the Blacktongues. 

Pan: Whatever your masters plot, I will see to it that they never come to fruition!

Blacktongue Assassin: You cannot stop what has already begun, Satyr! The Blacktongues will have their vengeance and Hecate will rise to her rightful place! 

Mirko: I'll be sure to send you back to your master on a stretcher!

Mirko then grabs one of the Blacktongues and throws him against the wall, knocking him out. 

Pan: Truly remarkable skill, my friend! 

Blacktongue Assassin: Enough of this! 

The Blacktongue then speaks an incantation. As he does, a portal opens from the ground and a large and menacing Minotaur is summoned. He lets out a guttural roar as it slams it's cleaver on the ground. 

Mirko: What the hell is that thing?!

Pan: That would be a Minotaur. Very large and very powerful, but they are not the brightest creatures in the world. We shall take on the Minotaur while my students take on the Blacktongues!

With that, Pan and Mirko took on the Minotaur while Talia and Shoji fought the Blacktongues. As the Blacktongues surrounded Talia and Shoji, they prepared themselves for a fight. 

Blacktongue Assassin: Your life ends here, children. Take comfort in knowing that you will rest in Hecate's loving embrace in the paradise of Tartarus! 

As the Blacktongues attacked them, Talia was able to use her magic to keep them at bay while Shoji used his Dupli-Arms to fight the Blacktongues. 

Shoji: Pan was right about the Blacktongues! I've never faced something so ruthless! 

Talia: We must keep our guard up at all times! The Blacktongues are extremely dangerous!

As Talia and Shoji fought the Blacktongues, Pan and Mirko hold their own against the Minotaur. 

Pan: It seems our angry friend is quite adamant in our destruction, wouldn't you say? 

Mirko: I live every day of my life like there's no tomorrow so that when my number's up, I can check out with no regrets! No way this oversized bull is gonna end Mirko the Hero! If that thing wants a fight, then I'll give it a fight!

Mirko then begins attacking the Minotaur with everything she had. She managed to kick the cleaver out of the Minotaur's hands. Pan then uses the magic from his staff to melt the cleaver. Mirko and the Minotaur began to brawl in the alleyway. Despite the Minotaur's size, Mirko proved to be it's equal in terms of strength. 

Pan: Mirko! Shield your eyes! I shall give you an opening!

As Mirko shielded her eyes, Pan used his staff to emit a blinding light right into the Minotaur's eyes. As the Minotaur howled in pain, Mirko capitalized on the opening Pan gave her and mounts the Minotaur's head and grips it tightly with her legs. She then used her Luna Tijeras to twist her body and used her superhuman strength to rip the Minotaur's head cleanly off and smash it into the ground. As the Minotaur's headless body collapsed to the ground, Pan raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

Pan: Extraordinary. 

Meanwhile, Talia and Shoji had taken down all but one of the Blacktongue assassins. As the last Blacktongue assassin was cornered, Pan and Mirko joined in.

Talia: It's over, Blacktongue! You've been beaten!

Shoji: There is no escape! 

Despite being cornered, the Blacktongue assassin simply laughed. 

Blacktongue Assassin: You think this will stop us? The Blacktongues are legion! No matter how hard you try, the Blacktongues shall always rise to fulfill the wishes of our beloved Hecate! 

With that, the Blacktongue began to speak an incantation. The tattoos on his body began to glow as he began laughing. He soon vanished into smoke. 

Mirko: Damn! I'm going after that bastard!

Pan: There's no point to, my friend. You won't catch him. He's long gone I'm afraid. 

Talia: What do we do now?

Pan: There's nothing more we can do. The Blacktongues are a cowardly lot, but they'll be back and in greater numbers. 

With that, the Blacktongue ambush had failed. Pan parted ways with Mirko and continued training both Talia and Shoji. But as the internships came to a close, the threat of the Blacktongues still loomed.
