Act 8

Disha woke up the next morning with a mix of emotions swirling inside her. The bracelet Hoseok had sent her glinted softly on her wrist as she lay in bed, the morning sun filtering through her curtains. She smiled, recalling the thoughtful surprise and their late-night video call. But as she sat up, the weight of everything she hadn't said to Hoseok began to press down on her.

She knew she cared about him-more than she had ever admitted, even to herself. But with so many miles between them and such different lives, she kept wondering if it was worth saying anything at all.

"Stop overthinking, Disha," she muttered to herself, running a hand through her hair. "Just enjoy the moment."

But as she got ready for the day, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing, something unsaid.

Meanwhile, in Seoul, Hoseok was having a morning of his own. After a grueling early workout, he was back in his apartment, showered, and ready to tackle the day. Yet, as he sipped his coffee, his thoughts kept drifting back to Disha. The way she had lit up when she saw the bracelet, the sound of her laughter-everything about her was replaying in his mind like a favorite song.

He knew he liked her, a lot more than he had ever intended. But there was always that nagging thought in the back of his mind: How could this work? They were on opposite sides of the world, both busy chasing their dreams.

"Get a grip, Hoseok," he said aloud, shaking his head. "It's just a crush."

But deep down, he knew it wasn't just a crush. It was something more, something real. And it scared him.

As he was lost in thought, his phone buzzed on the table. He glanced at it, his heart skipping a beat when he saw it was a text from Disha.

Disha: "Morning, Hobi! Hope you're having a great day! 😄"

Hoseok couldn't help but smile as he read her message. He quickly typed back, not wanting to keep her waiting.

Hoseok: "Morning! Just finished my workout. How's my favorite psychology prodigy doing today?"

Back in India, Disha felt a warmth spread through her as she read his reply. His casual teasing always had a way of making her smile, no matter how she was feeling.

Disha: "Well, I'm no prodigy, but I'm surviving! 😂 Thanks for the bracelet again. I can't stop staring at it."

Hoseok grinned as he imagined her fiddling with the bracelet. He could almost see the way her eyes would light up when she talked about it.

Hoseok: "Glad you like it. You deserve it! What's on your agenda today?"

As they continued texting, the conversation flowed easily, with the usual banter and playful teasing that had become their norm. But beneath the surface, both of them were skirting around the things they really wanted to say.

Later that day, Disha met up with Alice at their usual café, her mind still occupied by thoughts of Hoseok. Alice, ever the observant friend, picked up on it immediately.

"Alright, spill," Alice said, leaning back in her chair with a knowing smirk. "You've got that look."

Disha rolled her eyes, trying to play it off. "What look?"

Alice raised an eyebrow. "The 'I'm totally smitten but too scared to admit it' look. Come on, Disha, it's obvious."

Disha sighed, stirring her coffee absentmindedly. "It's not that simple, Alice. We're on opposite sides of the world, and I don't even know if he feels the same way."

Alice leaned forward, her expression softening. "Distance doesn't mean a thing if you both care about each other. And as for whether he feels the same way-girl, have you seen the way he looks at you on those video calls? It's like you hung the moon."

Disha blushed at the thought. "I just...I don't want to ruin what we have. What if I say something, and it makes things awkward?"

Alice reached out and gave Disha's hand a comforting squeeze. "You won't know unless you take the chance. And even if it does get a little awkward, I'm pretty sure you two are strong enough to get through it."

Disha nodded, knowing Alice was right. But it still didn't make the idea of confessing her feelings any less daunting.

Meanwhile, Hoseok was having a conversation of his own. After his training session, he met up with Namjoon for a quick lunch. Namjoon had been one of his closest friends for years, and if anyone could give him advice, it was him.

"So, what's on your mind?" Namjoon asked, picking up on Hoseok's distracted mood as they sat down at their usual spot.

Hoseok sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's Disha. I...I think I'm falling for her."

Namjoon raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "And that's a bad thing?"

"No, not bad, just...complicated," Hoseok replied, pushing his food around on his plate. "We live in different countries, we're both busy with our careers, and I don't even know if she feels the same way."

Namjoon nodded thoughtfully. "Long-distance is tough, no doubt about that. But if you really care about her, you should tell her how you feel. Otherwise, you'll never know what could've been."

Hoseok leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling. "Yeah, but what if it messes things up between us? I don't want to lose her as a friend."

"Trust me, if your friendship is strong, it won't break that easily," Namjoon said with a reassuring smile. "And if she feels the same way, then you're worrying for nothing."

Hoseok sighed again, knowing his friend was right. "I guess I'll have to figure out the right moment."

As the day went on, both Disha and Hoseok found themselves lost in thought, each grappling with the fear of the unknown. Their conversations continued as usual, filled with laughter and lightheartedness, but the weight of their unspoken feelings hung in the air, unnoticed by neither.

That evening, as Disha sat on her bed, staring at the bracelet on her wrist, she made a decision. She couldn't keep this to herself any longer. Even if it scared her, she had to tell Hoseok how she felt.

At the same time, in Seoul, Hoseok was pacing around his living room, rehearsing what he wanted to say. He knew he had to tell Disha the truth, no matter what happened afterward.

They both picked up their phones at the same time, their hearts racing as they typed out their messages.

Disha: "Hobi, there's something I've been meaning to tell you..."

Hoseok: "Disha, I need to talk to you about something important..."

They hit send simultaneously, their messages crossing paths as they waited, hearts pounding, for the other to reply.
