Act 7

The next morning, Disha woke up to the sound of her phone vibrating incessantly on her nightstand. Groggy and half-asleep, she reached for it, her mind still fuzzy from the deep sleep she had finally managed after days of stress.

"Who on earth...?" she mumbled, squinting at the screen. Her eyes widened as she saw a string of notifications from Hoseok.

Hoseok: "Wake up, sleepyhead! 🌞"

Hoseok: "I know you're awake. I can sense it. 😏"

Hoseok: "Okay, maybe not, but you better be up by now!"

Hoseok: "Surprise incoming in 3...2...1..."

Just as she read the last message, her phone buzzed with an incoming video call. Disha quickly sat up, her hair a wild mess, but she didn't care. With a smile, she answered the call.

"Hobi! What are you up to so early?" she greeted, trying to smooth her hair down with one hand.

On the screen, Hoseok was grinning ear to ear, his bright smile practically lighting up her entire room. "Morning, Disha! I hope I didn't wake you up too early," he said, his tone playful.

Disha laughed, shaking her head. "No, not at all. I needed to get up anyway. But what's this about a surprise?"

Hoseok's grin widened. "Remember how I said I'd surprise you? Well, go check your front door."

Disha frowned, confused. "My front door? Hobi, what did you do?"

"Just go check!" he insisted, his excitement palpable even through the screen.

Curious and a bit anxious, Disha hurried out of bed, the call still connected as she made her way to the front door. She opened it cautiously, half expecting some sort of prank. But instead, she found a small package sitting on the doorstep.

She picked it up, glancing at Hoseok on the screen. "What is this?"

"Open it!" he urged, practically bouncing with excitement.

Disha carefully tore open the package and gasped when she saw what was inside. It was a small, intricately designed bracelet with tiny charms—each one symbolizing something meaningful between them. A tiny microphone, a book, a coffee cup, and even a small airplane.

"Hobi...this is...I don't know what to say," Disha stammered, her voice thick with emotion. "It's beautiful."

Hoseok's expression softened, his playful demeanor giving way to something more serious. "I know it's just a small thing, but I wanted to give you something to remind you that I'm always here, even when I'm not physically around."

Disha felt tears welling up in her eyes. "It's perfect, Hobi. Thank you. But how did you—"

Hoseok cut her off with a sheepish smile. "Let's just say I have my ways. You can thank Alice for being my secret agent."

Disha laughed through her tears, shaking her head in disbelief. "Of course, she was in on it. I should have known."

"Put it on," Hoseok suggested, leaning closer to the camera as if he could help her from the other side of the screen.

Disha did as he asked, fastening the bracelet around her wrist. It fit perfectly, and she couldn't stop admiring it. "I love it, Hobi. But seriously, how did you manage to pull this off?"

Hoseok shrugged, his grin returning. "I have my connections. Plus, it wasn't that hard when I had such a great spy on my side."

Disha was about to reply when Alice suddenly burst into the room, clearly having overheard everything. "Surprise!" she yelled, her grin matching Hoseok's.

"Alice!" Disha exclaimed, throwing a pillow at her. "You traitor! You knew all along!"

Alice dodged the pillow effortlessly, laughing. "Guilty as charged. But come on, you have to admit it was worth it."

Disha rolled her eyes but couldn't help laughing along. "Fine, fine. You two win. But seriously, this was the best surprise."

Alice winked at Hoseok through the camera. "Told you she'd love it."

Hoseok chuckled. "Thanks, Alice. Couldn't have done it without you."

Alice gave a mock bow. "Anytime, Hobi. Now, I'll leave you two lovebirds to your sappy goodbyes."

Disha blushed, but before she could protest, Alice was already out the door, leaving her alone with Hoseok again.

"She's impossible," Disha muttered, but Hoseok just laughed.

"Yeah, but she's right, you know. I'm glad you liked the bracelet," he said softly, his tone filled with sincerity.

Disha smiled, her heart swelling with affection. "I love it. And I love that you thought of me like this. It means a lot."

Hoseok's eyes softened. "Of course, Disha. You're always on my mind. Even when we're miles apart."

Disha felt her breath catch at his words, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. But instead of letting them take over, she decided to lighten the mood. "Well, if you ever need any more spy work done, I think I know someone who'd be up for the job."

Hoseok chuckled, the playful sparkle returning to his eyes. "Noted. But for now, I think I've used up all my secret agent points."

They both laughed, the moment feeling warm and comfortable. The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and soon, they were joking and teasing each other like they always did.

But even as they laughed, the unspoken emotions lingered, making their connection feel even more special. As the call ended, they both felt a sense of contentment, knowing that no matter what, they had each other's backs.

And as Disha lay back down, the bracelet resting against her wrist, she couldn't help but smile. Distance or not, Hoseok had a way of making her feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

The world is too small

I shall give the whole universe to you

My heart yearned through the years

but now im whole.

Disha
