Fantasy Finalist-TheNightSong

TheNightSong- A Remnant of Fire

Title: 5/5

The title is beautiful and eye-catching. Well done.

Blurb: 9/10

The blurb was excellent but the three paragraphs in it felt unnecessary and filler.

One:

"Follow her journey, as well as others..."

Two:

"But will they live.."

Three:

"Read to find out."

Those three paragraphs felt unnecessary and boring. It was not really contributing anything to the story.

Cover: 5/5

The cover was beautiful. No complaints.

Plot: 20/20

The plot was interesting and beautiful. Excellent pacing and world building throughout the story.

Characterization: 18/20

The characters are well-written. I love them and their depth. However, they felt kind of similar. They felt like they had the same mindset. I didn't really know who was who as first but now I do. I would suggest to add an irregular trait to them and it will significantly raise their diversity.

Creativity/Originality: 8/10

It was creative but not at the same time. It has a similar start like most fantasy novels I have read. I recommend you to use a situation like that for a prologue. It gives you a better chance to develop characters and the storyline.

Spelling/Grammar: 13.5/15

A few errors here and there with commas and such, but nothing a quick look at can't fix.

Enjoyment: 3/5

I did enjoy, but I had multiple problems. The style of writing felt forced. I felt like you forced your way writing and your descriptions. Write it comfortably and then edit it according to your style. If you write comfortably, it will show in the story. Do it comfortably; the readers can feel the comfort of your writing through it.

Literary devices: 4/5

The uses of the basic figures of speech pulled me in. Well done! I loved them so much. I had a problem with some of them. Some of the comparisons felt weird and very forced. It made me cringe at times and sigh at times. Write comfortably.

Description: 4/5

I loved your descriptions, but you should also be more free with expressing. Don't try and be elaborate in all your descriptions. A lot of the times, straightforward descriptions express things and paint pictures better than elaborate writing. It all comes down to how comfortable and experienced you are. I'm sure you are experienced but just express yourself, don't fret about what readers would think.

Total: 89.5/100
