Donovan Castle Chronicles By ColorfulWorldOfMine
Judge:K_Blackwood
• Title:10/10
It's perfect for the story. The entire plot revolves around the castle and it's inhabitants so the writer chose a great title.
• Cover:5/5
The cover is very beautiful. The writer put a lot of love into making it. It's perfect. It stands out amongst other book covers I've seen.
• Blurb:10/10
The blurb is great. It draws your interest in. I love the spin the writer put on it, speaking directly to the reader.
• Setting:10/10
The setting is very relevant. Very detailed descriptions. The writer describes it all perfectly. The castle is beautiful and it shows in the writing.
• Character and emotions : 10/10
The character's are very well written. They all have their unique traits and supernatural abilities. The writer has a lot of love for their characters and it shows with how wonderfully written they all are.
• Plot and detail: 17/20
The plot isn't really relevant in the first chapters, but it's sure to unravel a bit later in the story. It does flow naturally. No plot holes. It's very different but not at all confusing. A lot of information is thrown at the reader quickly, and I did find myself having to go back and reread in an attempt to remember all of the world's lore.
• Flow and style:18/20
The writer has their own unique way of writing that keeps the flow. I didn't get hung up on words, and it's very easy to read.
• Grammar and Spelling: 8/10
Some minor grammar improvements could be made, but everything else is perfect.

I enjoyed the story immensely. It's fun and unique. I can feel the writer's passion flowing through their words and that type of enthusiasm has my wanting to read more.

• Title:10/10
This name is beautiful and unique, it's so appealing and dangerous that it personally made me want to find out more. It's definitely one of my top favorite book names out there.
• Cover:5/5
The cover is gorgeous, it's unbelievably pretty and seductive if you ask me, in the best unholy way possible of course. The dark red, the white feathers, the rich font, it's all so well balanced and put together. Looking at it overall, it's an absolute beauty and perfection. If I could give it a thousand out of ten, I would.
• Blurb:10/10
I couldn't imagine or begin to think of a better way to attract—attach the reader into drowning and find out more of which the MC takes a sinful, dangerous adventure with a taunting demon. The idea, the writing, it's the perfect setting and plot to reach a reader's interest.
• Setting:10/10
The whole atmosphere and energy of the book screams professionalism and power. It gives off the right feelings a reader must receive and understand from the story. The writing is spot on, giving away not too just and not too little, just enough for every detail.
• Character and emotions : 10/10
The characters are amazing. What I liked the most was how the author didn't rush into introducing many characters all at once which may confuse a lot of readers at the beginning, and I appreciate that dearly. The author showed great emotion and description on how much Rain cared for her sister, it was a highlight, refreshing finally seeing an author pulling and using strong emotions to explain the plot to new readers before rushing into action without the reader feeling any attachment or connection with the character.
• Plot and detail: 20/20
So far judging this book and others, this is the first time I've given someone the full score on plot and details. It is insanely impressive how the author writes, how she puts emotions into words, how she uses the right hits to get to the reader and make them feel included, relating to the characters. Details are spot on, everything is described exactly how much it is needed. It doesn't bore you out, it actually made me read in awe of how talented, pleasing and cautious the author is with choosing words and action of which shows—reveal the MC's personality. Personally, I love the idea of demons and having to sacrifice one's innocence and pure heart in order to save what's more important for them. Rain's courage is encouraging and I think it might help a lot to improve their own confidence. Her love and determination is something a lot could look up to. She's an absolute gem and the author brilliantly put her character together.
• Flow and style:17/20
The chapters were going in the right paste, explaining and giving us enough information to understand the surroundings and storyline. It didn't feel rushed or slowed, it felt just right. The only thing I didn't enjoy is how quick Rain was catching up to Vance, she had already wanted to kiss him and it felt like she's head over heels for him which seemed a bit rushed. It is always a bit more exciting when the romance comes later and is a slow burn.
• Grammar and Spelling:9/10
I've only seen one or two spelling mistakes and the other were simple extra gaps/space between words which is forgiven since it only takes light editing to fix those.
• Personal Enjoyment: 4/5
I would definitely want to read and find out more about Rain and Vance's journey and how their story will lead on. A lot of support and praise for the author, when you read this, know that I am the most picky, critical and stubborn badass reader out there, but when I read your book, seen your cover and read the description at once, it took me by surprise how much I was interested and willing to read, not just for judging's sake but for my own personal enjoyment. Keep up the great work, I see a long success further with writing and ideas like yours.

• Title: 10/10
I love title because it piques my interest and makes me want to read more to find out if there's a deeper meaning behind it and what the story is about. It's also short, memorable, and unique enough to entice the reader's attention.
• Cover: 4/5
The author did an excellent job of designing a cover that hints at the story's genre. The color scheme and image used work well together and emphasize the plot of the story. The font is also legible.
• Blurb: 8/10
The blurb is brief, straightforward, and descriptive. It introduces the main characters without going into too much detail about their backstories, and it teases at the conflict that will unfold as the story progresses and the stakes rise. Something seemed to be missing between the first and second lines of the blurb. I recommend including the name of Keana's hometown or something interesting about her to pique the reader's interest without giving too much away and to help readers understand the blurb clearly.
• Setting:10/10
There was not a single chapter in this story in which I couldn't picture the setting—this demonstrates that the author understood how to engage the reader's senses through the creative use of imagery. The descriptive words used help to bring the locations around the character to life.
• Character and emotions : 10/10
I adored the characters and how they evolved throughout the plot. They each had their own set of motivations, fears, and backstories. I instantly related to Keana and her preference for solitude and peace that came with spending time alone rather than being surrounded by noise. I was able to feel her emotions through every anticipated and unexpected turn of events. I think the author was able to create their characters in such a way that their readers could get to know them intimately, physically, and emotionally.
• Plot and detail: 19/20
The plot for the story is both creative and unique, as well as entertaining. It's a story with intriguing and engrossing conflicts as well as unexpected plot twists. The more the story progresses, the more I find myself wanting to know what happens next. There was nothing predictable or cliche, and there were no plot holes. The only thing that didn't grab my attention right away was the prologue, but everything else was wonderfully executed.
• Flow and style:/20
The story flows smoothly and consistently throughout each chapter. Nothing felt rushed or slow-paced, and dragged on for too long. To make the story more enjoyable to read and to give the reader a better understanding of what the author is trying to convey, the article uses precise active verbs and skillfully implements figures of speech.
• Grammar and Spelling: 10/10
There were no noticeable spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes. The author's vocabulary enhances and the reader's understanding of each character and setting. Overall, I think the author's style of writing is authentic.
• Personal Enjoyment: 4/5
As stated prior, the prologue didn't really hold my interest, but once I read past that and continued reading on, the story development only got better. The details all helped to make me feel as though I was transported into the story. Some scenes really left me surprised, such as the one where Keana finds her friend, Odell with Sunflower. I really enjoyed reading the story overall.

• Title:10/10
The title matches the story plot. It's very unique, and very easy to remember.
• Cover:5/5
The cover is beautiful. I can see it being in a bookstore. It's very eye-catching, and relevant to the plot. It's perfect.
• Blurb:10/10
The blurb is wonderfully written. It doesn't give too much away, but just enough to have your curiosity peaked to read more.
• Setting:10/10
The setting is perfect for a gritty supernatual story. The city was wonderfully described.
• Character and emotions : 10/10
The character's in my opinion are where this story shines. The main character isn't perfect, she acts rash and makes mistakes, and that's what I loved. You can connect with her. The other characters are also mysterious and intriguing.
• Plot and detail: 20/20
The plot would take more than a few chapters to unravel. I have a feeling that it's an intricate weaving of many subplots that will come together. It's not cliche and it's not confusing. The writer knows their lore, and explains it quite well.
• Flow and style:18/20
The flow is great. The chapters are short, and perfect to keep the reader wanting more. It's close to being perfect.
• Grammar and Spelling: 9/10
There's some grammar mistakes that could be corrected. All easily fixable with a quick run through an editing program.
• Personal Enjoyment:5/5
I liked this story a lot. It's the kind of book I'd buy from a store. The cover is beautiful, and the blurb is intriguing. I really enjoyed the characters and I'll be sure to return to read.
