Chapter 1
Wes see's the world differently than the others around him. Wes saw two strange worlds; the one he's living in right now, and the one which nobody knows about. He always pictured what he saw in that other mysterious world.
He pictured a horrifying world with magic and wizards and witches and vampires. He's a horror lover, and a professional zombie growler. Though he's only 16-years-old, he still loves to explore the world like when he was younger. He loves to explore what's around him, and someday, he'll tell himself:
'I've been to another mysterious world.'
Wes's a different child, unlike any teenager. His father passed away 3 months ago, and his mother, she moved away because she disliked Wes's attitude. His attitude wasn't a dreadful thing, it was just strange. It wasn't normal for other teen's like him.
Now Wes must survive on his own and fight for his life. He lives in the middle of nowhere, so he cannot ask for help. There's an old telephone outside of his house, but he doesn't have anyone to call. Besides, the thing's broken. What would he do with a broken telephone?
Wes didn't know much about devices. They weren't part of his thing. He has a laptop, and an old TV that was made when they first came out. Wes wasn't a major fan of watching TV, just as much as he didn't use his laptop. If he needed to know something super important, he'd log onto his computer and search it up.
Surprisingly, he had the internet. He didn't know much about what the internet was, or how it powered, or where it came from. All he knew was that it helped with electronic devices.
He knew very few things, some things he knew very little about, and most things he didn't know anything about it.
Wes dreamed of being a character in a book, in fact, he wanted to be a character from a horror story.
'I love horror. It makes me want to scream and cry like a baby because it's so dang good!'
Wes told his father that nonstop for a while, until he died and passed away. Wes planned on meeting his father's grave one day, keeping in mind the magical legend of people rising from the dead. Wes knew all about horror. He knew about vampires, zombies, blood and skeletons, and he loved halloween. He wished that he lived in a city so that he could go trick-or-treating.
'I wish that I could be a trick-or-treater. We could have the #1 best house for halloween decorations and treats! We could pass out giant candy bars and have big halloween parties!'
Wes always told that to his mother, who was desperate to find her way back home. Wes thought of her as a nice mother who wished to come back home, even though she abandoned him and his father, just when Wes was only 8 years old.
He was still upset about it, but he was eager to not think about it. It's hard to think about for him, especially knowing that his father died a few months ago too. Wes cannot live on his own. He could face dangers, wild animals, and twisters. Maybe he could move out of his tiny house one day and find the mysterious world that has been missing for centuries.
He's an all different child. What's the point of being alive anyway if he doesn't see himself as important?
Wes decided to take his mind off things and take a breath in the wind. He opened the door with a light smile on his face, and his short, brown hair blowing in the wind. It was a little bit chilly, but Wes didn't care. He was enjoying the sun in his eyes, and the sky in his face.
Wes felt a paper blow in his face. He opened his eyes, terrified to know what it was. He picked up the paper. It wasn't just a piece of junk; it was a note.
I miss you,
The note began. Wes read it aloud.
I wish I could see you again, Wes. I wish that I saw your eyes before I did what I did. This is your mother, Wes. I'm coming back for you.
Love, Cathie, your mother.
