No, Wes, you need to forget about what just happened. Wait, where am I?

Wes decided to find a cave. There was no point in going through that portal again, unless this place isn't safe either. Even though Wes seemed like a hero, he felt bad. Wait a second, can't the monster just go through that portal too? 

It was too late. The monster came through with a huge laughter. It coughed up blood, the last thing Wes needed to see was that. Falling onto the ground, Wes tumbled over a rock, instantly causing the monster to run away. 

"What just happened?"

Wes asked. The monster roared with a terrified face. It ran away. He couldn't help but laugh. His laughter led to the portal closing. Wes jumped back up on his feet and ran for the portal. Just before it closed, he was transported back to his home.

"Wes, where are you?"

That voice was mysterious. 

"Is that mom?"

Wes asked himself, not knowing what else to do. Wes's mother smiled. She hugged him like a giant stuffed polar bear. With one tear in her eye, she touched her son's face, not knowing what else to do.

"I am so, so sorry about the past few years. Where's your father?"

She said, with a worried look.

Wes didn't know how to tell her. He didn't want to lie to Cathie either. 

"Mom, I think you should take a seat on the couch. No questions asked please."

With a short nod, she froze and sat down. The couch was like an itchy sweater, making Cathie jump. Wes decided to ignore it. She was a rude mother anyways, right? 

While making tea, Wes's mother read some books. They were his favorites. With a serious face, Wes said,

"Please be careful with that. Those are my favorite books."

Although Wes didn't trust his mother, he still had to tell her about dad. After the tea was done, he poured a cup for his mom, and one for himself with extra sugar.

"Mom, I need you to drink the tea slowly."

Wes begun.

"But honey, where's your father?"

"Mom, let me show you. I would rather show you than tell you. Follow me."

He led his mother to Peter's grave. While mom got on her knees and cried, Wes left her stranded there. He ran back to the hut, hopefully safe and sound.
