Chapter 2

Her icy grey eyes mocked me. There she is, my dearest sister.

Not.

She faked a smile at me.

"Well, aren't you going to invite me in?" She asked in that stupid tone she has. The one that she uses as if she's the most superior being on the entire fucking planet.

"I was kind of hoping you wouldn't ask," I responded dryly. She pouted mockingly at me.

"How rude. And here I thought that our lovely parents raised you better. Oh well, no point in worrying about the harm already done," she shrugged and walked in anyway. Rude bitch.

I rolled my eyes. "Come in, why don't you," I mumbled. She ignored me and waltzed into my living room.

"I do forget how... quaint your house is, brother," she turned to me and gave another fake smile.

"Thanks, I guess," I responded as I closed the door behind me and walked over to sofa. I slowly sat down and let the soft leather engulf me. "So, what is it you want, Marie?" I asked, rubbing my temple. I feel like I'm starting to get a headache from her annoying presence.

"Oh, I just wanted to let you know that mother and father requested that you join us at some party a noble is hosting."

I crinkled my nose in disgust. There was no way in hell that I'd ever go to another one of those stuffy, noble parties. There was never anything exciting to do.

"I think I'm good. Thanks for dropping by, you may leave now," I smiled curtly and get out of my chair, ready to push her out of my house.

"Let me rephrase that. Mother and father are making you attend the party," she stated coldly.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't care. They can go fuck themselves. I'm not going," I told her firmly

"Oh such rude words! You're lucky mommy and daddy dearest aren't nearby to hear such vulgar words escaping their only son's mouth," she smirked. God. I hated her smug little expression. I hated everything about my sister- about my family, really. All they are is a family of sniveling, rich, vampires that happen to have quite a lot of influence in our world.

"I don't mean to sound like a broken record  but-"

"If you're using that phrase, then that implies you are specifically trying to 'sound like a broken record'. Carry on," Marie waved her hand in a "continue" gesture. I rolled my eyes.

"Anyway, as I was trying to say, I do not care what mother and father want. I'm not going," I repeated firmly. She smirked.

"They thought that you might say something like this. So, let me break it down for your dense head; if you do not attend this party, mom and dad are going to take away your precious house," she smiled like she knew she had me trapped.

Which she did.

I sighed. "When and where?" I asked. She smirked.

"I'm so glad you asked, dear brother! The party is in two weeks from now. I'll come pick you up here. If you'd like, then you can bring a plus one. Although, it would be stupid of you to bring a human plus one. So don't," she explained in an exasperated tone.

I rolled my eyes again.

"Okay, okay. Whatever. Can you please leave now?" I questioned. Marie pouted.

"Oh, but brother! I traveled all the way from Carmel just to visit you! I was hoping that you'd at least offer me some food before I make my way home again?" She smiled in fake innocence at me, batting her long eyelashes.

"I'll give you a cup of blood for the drive, how about that?" I asked, one hundred and ten percent done with her already. She frowned.

"Well, that wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but it'll do."

"Right..." I said before going to the kitchen to prepare some blood for my sister.

In the kitchen, I slyly pull out a bag of A- blood - her least favorite kind - and pour it into a large thermos. I hand the thermos to her and give her another eye roll.

"Here you go, your majesty," I said with my signature sarcasm. She smiled that fake ass smile again. I really fucking hate fake bitches.

"Thank you, servant."

"Fuck you."

"But I thought you were gay...?"

"Bitch."

"Man whore."

"I hope you have a terrible sex life," I shot back. Wow. That was really low of me. She just laughed. Like laughed really fucking hard. She was laughing so much that she was crying.

"Wow, Okay," She wiped off a tear and kept her first genuine smile. "I suppose I never did tell you- I'm asexual."

"Are you serious?" I ask, slightly frustrated that my come back literally had no effect on her.

"Oh, quite serious, brother," she answered.

"Well, Thanks for coming out then," I sigh. "Now, can you please get the fuck out of my house?"

"You really should fix your manners before the party, brother," she commented and gracefully walked to the door. She paused and turned around, looking at me expectantly.

"What do you want?"

"If you could be a dear and open your door for me? That would be greatly appreciated."

I rolled my eyes. Maybe I should stop making a habit out of that. I'll think of a new way to show my annoyance later.

"Fine, dearest sister," I reply and open the door for her. She gives me her signature thank you for nothing smile and leaves. I watch her walk to her silver Cadillac. She takes a sip of her blood and her reaction makes me laugh just the way she was earlier.

She hops into the drivers seat and flips me off before driving away.

"Bye, bitch."
