10. Ten years since I've seen my sister. I remember that we were twins but not identical. I don't remember what she looked like or how she acted, I just knew she was there. I remember playing dolls with her in the playroom at our foster care house. I remember the story, that our parents didn't have enough money to care for a baby, never mind two. We were sent directly to our new family and stayed for five years. Our foster family was in North Carolina while we were born in Providence, Rhode island, that teeny tiny state in northern America. There were about six other kids at that house but they were all at least three years older then us and wanted nothing to do with the little babies crawling around the playroom. Abbie and I, which I remember was her name, mostly kept to each other and only played together. After we turned five they separated us and I was sent to Tennessee, I have no idea were they sent Abbie. My name is Katelyn, and I'm fifteen years old. In a month I will be turning sixteen and my new family will be heading up to Ohio to see some family up there. I really miss Abbie, even if I barely know her. Sometimes I feel like I might know her way more then I think. Other times I think I barely know her and that she's a stranger who I should just forget about, but something in my mind tells me that she should never be forgotten. The battles in my head of whether I should forget her or not are sometimes very stressful and I just cry. I can tell by the behavior of my foster family that they are very worried about me. In my foster family I have two other siblings, a little girl who is twelve she knows I'm adopted but keeps it a secret for me, and a little boy who is seven who doesn't know that I'm adopted. I look quite similar to them so its kind of hard to tell. My sisters name is Sarah and my brothers name is Alex. They are so nice and I'm lucky to have them as siblings. I hope that will never change
