plot —

in a world full of the extraordinary, sally arora is nothing but normal.

the aroras are a well known wizard family. magic runs through their veins in parallel with blood. well, magic does run through arora veins, if you take sally out of the equation. because sally is a squib. there is no buzz of power in her body. a wand will never choose her. hogwarts shall never send her a letter. all the magic had been sapped from her parents before she entered the womb. how cruel is that?

sally has a choice: go to the muggle world and leave her family behind... or stay. perhaps she shouldn't have gone with the latter option. 

as she goes to a muggle boarding school, for a muggle education, she works at the leaky cauldron, surrounded by witches and wizards who give her pitying glances eerily similar to those she is given in her home. as if that couldn't get any worse, the magical world is thrown out of the loop when voldemort returns, leading the girl to go into hiding, since she's far too close to a muggle for their liking.

in her years apart from her magical family, sally creates a world of her own liking, full of muggle shit like candle making as a hobby, trivia nights at the pub, cute boys with zero power. it's nice while it lasts... until there's a battle at her brother's school, leaving him dead on the hogwarts floor. now, she has a chance for everything to go back to normal. well, as normal as it can be.

sally returns to a broken world and realizes that she has to stay to fix it, even though she'll have to leave the perfect one she made for herself. she leaves her nice muggle boyfriend, her sweet muggle job, and her silly muggle roommate to instead live above the leaky cauldron once more.

shockingly enough, sally finds herself friends with a boy with a dark mark singed atop his skin. draco malfoy moves right next door, leaving his perfect manor until it all blows over. all that hatred that once filled his system has seemed to have vented out, leaving a deflated and rather oblivious boy she grows rather fond of.

who she doesn't grow fond of is that harry potter boy. yes, that boy. the chosen one. who she seemingly finds herself interacting with every year or so, quips and snaps covering up unhealed wounds. they're both rather broken and would rather battle than heal. that is, until they meet on the fifth anniversary of the battle of hogwarts and form a truce. just friends, not enemies.

(we'll see how long the just friends lasts, yeah?)

i adore this plot so much, but i have no time to write it.

this is (obviously) based off of the movie when harry met sally, which is a personal favorite of mine! it won't follow exactly, but i'd love it if the pining + one night stand arcs are kept in. be sure to watch the movie before writing this!

draco malfoy is going to be played by leo woodall in this and i'd like it to stay that way! draco takes on the roll of marie and will honestly be a joy to write after he settles into his new environment.

harry and sally definitely have an enemies to friends to lovers thing going on, but end up loving each other to death.
