Chapter 2

One Year Later

Over the last year, your over-all strength and power had nearly doubled. You did what you had to do to survive all the way out here. Sure, you knew you could have just flown to the nearest village but you had no idea where you were or how far the nearest village was and decided it would be best to wait. As you sat there in the cave, you began to wonder if the note that you found that was left on your chest after you woke up was actually true.

"You have been abandoned by your own race, they never actually cared or will care about you. You will always and forever be alone. There is no one that you can trust." The note read, which you started to mostly believe except for your own team.

"Those three trusted me to the fullest. There's no way I can actually believe those three would abandon me." You mumbled to yourself. But before you could get too deep into thought, you heard some noise coming from outside.

"Someone's all the way out here?" You asked, lifting your head up and turning towards the entrance of the cave. You got up and dashed outside then hid behind some rocks when you got close. You saw a group of four, walking around looking. Two were female and the other seemed like male soldiers. "Their outfits aren't that of the Sadala force, perhaps a gang?"

You kept wondering and observed the two female Saiyan. One wore no top, only a magenta colored band around her chest area and long, baggy purple pants. The other had short hair that was tied into a pony tail at the back while some dipped in front of her face. She wore a red top that cut at her stomach and a short red skirt and black shorts underneath. "At least one of them dresses somewhat decently...." You said, then noticed the two golden wristbands on her wrists. "Wait...are those....?"

"Argh! You two idiots had better be right about this lead! Cause so far, I ain't seen nothing out here but rocks!" The one with no top shouted, causing the more dressed girl to hide behind her.

"She must be easily scared, or rather shy." You gathered and watched. "Now what are they on about?"

The two warriors backed up a bit then regained their composure and one cleared his throat. "Ms. Caulifla, we promise that we spotted a cave not far from here. We believe it's where this, powerful warrior who has been attacking our convoys and taking the supplies has been hiding all along."

You chuckled a bit and sighed softly. "Sorry, but I did what I had to do in order to survive out here. Besides, you should consider getting tougher guards to help those convoys." You said quietly. Sure, being a former member of the proud Sadala force, you did feel bad raiding and stealing from the convoy. But, knowing that you know had an idea of who those items belonged to, made you feel a bit less bad. "Caulifla....where have I heard that name?"

"For your sake you'd better be right!" Caulifla shouted and kept walking ahead then made a sharp glance in your direction which made you hide behind the rock.

The girl following close behind Caulifla stopped as well. "S-sis? Is something wrong?" She asked in a soft voice that was almost not hearable.

"Stay behind me. Alright! I know someone's there, show yourself now or prepared to be blasted out!" She said and held her hand out, charging up a red blast.

You sighed then let out a chuckled. "Well well, I must give you props for discovering my location."

Caulifla lowered her arm after making the energy formed in her hand dissipate. "Who are you?" She asked in a demanding tone.

"Knowing my name isn't important, lets start by getting the two of yours first." You replied, not trusting this group to know your name.

"Fine, my name is Caulifla." She said then pointed to the girl behind her, who was no somewhat hiding behind her, with her thumb. "This shy little one is Kale. Tell me mystery person, are you the one raiding our convoys?"

"Kale and Caulifla huh? Interesting, and what if I am the one who's been attacking your convoys?" You asked, crossing your arms.

"You bastard! Those supplies are vital to our gang!" One of the soldiers shouted then they both charged at you. "AHHHHH!!!"

You rolled your eyes then raised your hand up. "Pathetic attempt." You shot out a wave of energy that sent them both flying back, causing them to hit the rocks then fall the the ground.

Caulifla put her hands on her hips and looked at you with a smirk. "Well well, I can see how you took down the guards so easily."

"Consider getting stronger ones, hardly worth fighting off most times." You replied and walked closer to them, causing Kale to back up a bit but Caulifla remained unmoved.

"I'll make ya a deal here stranger." Caulifla said, confidence brimming in her voice as she folded her arms and maintained her smirk.

"What deal could you possibly make to someone like me?" You asked, seeming a bit interested in what she might have to say.

"Here's the deal, you come back with me and Kale and join my little gang I've got set up. In return, I won't beat you to a bloody pulp for stealing from me and I won't have my strongest men hunting your ass down ever day." She said, not once breaking eye contact.

Before you could even think about her offer, Kale piped up a little. "S-sis? A-are you sure it's a good idea to bring this guy back to base?"

Caulifla glanced back at her with a confident smile then nodded. "Of course Kale. If we have someone like this to add to our powerhouse of a gang, no one will ever think about messing with us!" She replied, causing Kale to nod slowly.

"You drive a hard bargain Caulifla. Alright, you've got yourself a deal. I'll join your little gang, it's not like I've got any other place to stay at the moment." You said and held out your hand to her which she took with her own and shook.

"Welcome aboard Mr....still never did catch your name there. So what is it?" She asked, again sounding very demanding.

"My name, you can call me Y/N." You replied which made her smile brightly.

"Well Y/N, welcome to the gang. It'll be a real pleasure having you as a strong member!" Caulifla said with a grin then let go of your hand. "Just try not to remain on my bad side for too long. Oh and if you ever harm Kale....I'll kill you on the spot." She said, her voice going from confident and somewhat playful to deadly and serious in an instant.

You nodded and looked over at Kale. "Kale right? Might I ask you a question about those golden wrist bands you're wearing?"

Kale looked down at her wrists then back up at you and nodded a bit. "S-sure, what's the question Mr. Y/N?"

"Where exactly did you get those from?" You asked in a clam voice, trying to appeal more to her shy side.

"O-oh! Sis gave them to me a few months ago. She never told me where she got them from and I never really bothered asking her." She replied sheepishly, hiding behind Caulifla again.

"Is that so? And where did you get them from Caulifla?" You asked, turning your attention to Caulifla.

Caulifla closed her eyes, sighed and shrugged her shoulders with her hands out. "I honestly don't care. I do know how I got them but the person I got them from I don't get along well with. Now then, help me get those two idiots up and we'll head back to base." She said and pointed to the two guards you knocked down earlier.

You sighed softly and walked over to the two unconscious soldiers and picked them up with ease. "I'll carry them since you're giving me a place to stay."

Caulifla nodded and started walking back in the direction of her base, Kale following very close behind her. You followed behind them and everything was quiet for awhile until Caulifla spoke up. "You know Y/N, Kale's usually very shy around new people."

"I gathered that from how softly she spoke and how she hides behind you." You stated, already gathering that much.

Caulifla then glanced over her shoulder at you. "Well well, look at Mr. Smarty pants over here, shut up!"

"S-sis! Be nice." Kale said quietly to her and Caulifla smiled a bit while looking at her.

"Alright, but I have a point to this Y/N." Caulifla said and you nodded to her as a sign for her to continue her statement. "My point is that Kale must feel calm and safe around you. You should feel honored seeing as how that doesn't happen with you."

You chuckled a bit and hearing this brought a small smile to your face. "Well, before I was stranded people did usually say I was someone who they felt safe around knowing I could protect them."

Caulifla nodded then looked straight ahead again. "I'm not usually interested in making friends, but you've peaked my curiosity. Tell me, how long have you been stranded in that cave?"

"About a year at this point." You replied and she turned around fully to look at you. Kale did the same as well but looked a bit more shocked than Caulifla.

"Wait, you've been stranded for a full year in that cave?" She asked, probably wanting to make sure she heard you correctly.

You nodded and sighed softly. "Yes, I've been living in that one cave for a full year basically."

Caulifla shook her head in disbelief "That's insane! Why wouldn't you just fly to the nearest village and live there?"

"Honestly, I had no idea where I was on Sadala or how far the nearest village was from my current location." You replied, which made them both nod after a bit of understanding.

"Okay, at least you have a logical reason on why. No reason to go waisting all that energy to not find anything and just be tired." Caulifla said and you nodded. She turned around and started walking again and you walked beside her, glancing at Kale who still didn't really make eye contact with you as she rubbed her right shoulder nervously.

"You're quiet shy Kale, are you not used to being around others?" You asked softly.

Kale nodded a bit but did not turn her head to face you. "Y-yeah, normally I'm only really comfortable being around Sis Caulifla."

You nodded and looked up at Caulifla who was still facing forward. "I get it, recently I've had difficulty with trust outside of three people I know. But I'm willing to give you and Caulifla a chance."

"Don't get to used to seeing my nice side Y/N. As I said earlier, never was interested in making friends." Caulifla said, folding her arms under her chest again.

"I can already tell your type. You're one of those Saiyan's who travels with a group but doesn't care about how well they know everyone in that ground. What's more is you also want to get stronger no matter what." You said which made Caulifla glance at you.

"Heh, sounds like you got me down. Which leads me to believe you were once like that yourself, or you've met others like me." She stated, closing her eyes mid way through her statement.

You sighed softly and looked down a bit then back up. "You're right, on both accounts actually. I was once like that myself and over the years, I have indeed met many others like you."

"And that's one of the reasons why I let those two dummies lead me out here. The thought of meeting a super powerful warrior like you just got me so psyched!" She said, clenching her fists as she bent over a bit.

"I can see that, so you want to become stronger by fighting against strong warriors like me?" You asked and she turned and nodded excitedly.

"Hell yea! The stronger the opponent, the more fun the fight and the stronger I'll become when I flatten them!" She said, confidence booming from her voice but she quickly calmed down. "But now's not the time for our fight. Well, not yet anyway."

Caulifla lead you towards a gate that had guards all around who stepped aside when she approached. She put her hands on the the door then looked back at you. "Y/N..." She said and pushed the doors open.

"A-allow us t-to welcome you to your new living place." Kale said and glanced at you for a quick second before looking back at the ground.

You walked in, setting the two soldiers down and then took a quick glance around the outside of the base. "I think I'll like staying here for awhile."
