"Oh Oscar I love you so much," Ruby muttered sleepily as she hugged her pillow close.

"Ruby...Ruby wake up!" Yang whisper shouted as she shook her little sister awake.

Ruby yawned, "Yang? What's going on?"

Zwei jumped on the bed, "I think I finally found the entrance to the negaverse. So hurry up and get ready so we can all investigate."

The silver eyed teen looked out the window, "it's still dark out."

"Rubes this could be it! Our way to save Oscar! So get changed and I'll meet you outside," Yang said before leaving the room with Zwei on her heels.

Ruby groaned and reluctantly did so, "just when I was in the middle of a good dream too..."

"So this is it huh?" Sailor Jupiter asked as she and the other sailor scouts stood before a swirling black portal that was hidden in an empty building downtown.

"Almost positive," Zwei said, "I've felt weird energy coming from this place for weeks so I decided to finally investigate and this is what I found."

"He's right. I'm getting the same kind of strange readings I always get whenever we are in or near the negaverse," Sailor Mercury said, holding out her data computer and scanning the portal.

"Well then I say let's go," Sailor Mars said.

The other scouts nodded and jumped into the portal.

They began walking deeper and deeper underground and soon they found themselves at a crossroad.

"Which path do we take?" Sailor Venus asked.

"I'll take this one," Zwei said, standing at the left tunnel, "and you girls go the other way."

"Are you sure that's a good idea Zwei?" Sailor Moon asked.

The corgi nodded, "yeah. You'll be fine. We'll try and meet back up later ok?"

The scouts nodded and watched as their guardian headed down into the tunnel.

"I guess we should go now too," Sailor Mercury said before taking the adjacent tunnel, her friends running after her.

"Ok the coast is clear," Sailor Venus said as she peeked around a corner.

The other girls came out from behind her when suddenly they felt a dark presence surround them.

Roman appeared before them in a flash of light.

"Well well look what I have here. Did you girls come all the way here just to see me? I'm flattered," He smirked.

Sailor Jupiter clenched her fists, "you wish."

She crossed her arms over her chest and extended her pinkies and pointer fingers upward as electricity crackled around her, "Jupiter thunder crash!"

The lightning almost struck Roman but he disappeared in flash before reappearing before Sailor Moon.

"Same old song and dance ladies? C'mon Sailor Moon why don't you give me the crystal and end all of this?"

"Sorry. Can't do that," Sailor Moon said, "I'm here to turn you and all of the negaverse to moon dust."

Roman chuckled, "you know you sound a lot like your mother talking like that."

Sailor Moon's eyes widened, "my mother-wait how could you know anything about my mother?!"

"Because I was there at the battle at the moon palace 1,000 years ago. And you don't even have a fraction of her power."

Sailor Moon grimaced, "you're lying. Queen Summer wouldn't have brought you and the other negaverse soldiers with us to the future. She brought us here to keep us safe."

"Think whatever you want princess, but regardless you'll never be like your mother." Roman said.

He sent a beam of energy out at Sailor Moon opening a swirling vortex behind her. The other scouts grabbed onto her to keep her from being pulled in.

Unfortunately, the spell was too powerful and all the girls were sucked into the portal. The crescent moon wand fell from Sailor Moon's hands and clattered to the ground.

"At last! The crescent moon wand is mine!" Roman sneered before reaching down to grab it.

But as his fingers closed around it the wand began glowing with white hot energy, burning the negaverse general's hand.

He cried out in pain and dropped it once more.

The wand then floated into the vortex after the scouts and the imperial silver crystal let out a bright beam of light, bathing the girls in its glow.

"What's going on?" Sailor Jupiter asked as she and the other girls had to shield their eyes from the bright light.

With a final flash of silver light the five sailor scouts were teleported to safety.

The girls felt themselves spinning and twirling through the air when suddenly it all came to a stop and they were dropped on the ground.

"What just happened?!" Sailor Venus asked.

Sailor Mercury looked around, "um...girls? Where are we?"

They other girls looked around. They appeared to be laying on some stone ruins. Above them the sky was a rich blue color and stars twinkled over head.

Sailor Moon stood up and looked around at the rubble surrounding her, "wait...this place, it feels...familiar."

"That's because this is your home Ruby," said a voice, "This is the moon kingdom. Or rather, what's left of it."

That's when the scouts realized that they were standing on the surface of the moon.

"Who said that?" Sailor Moon asked.

A silver orb floated down in front of her. It started to grow and elongate until it took the form of a beautiful woman wearing a white dress. Just like Ruby she had silver eyes and black and red streaked hair. There was also a rose emblem in the center of her forehead and a silver crown adorned with pearls placed delicately on her head.

"You're...Queen Summer," Sailor Moon said in shock, "you're my-"

"That's right dear," Queen Summer said, "I'm your mother."

Sailor Moon felt tears spring to her eyes, "how are you here I thought you were..."

Summer reached out to touch her daughter's cheek, "I'm merely a memory, here to show you what happened to our kingdom."

Summer began to glow again with silver light and it started to radiate across the surface of the moon. In a flash the ruins were restored to their former splendor.

The scouts stared in awe at the beauty of the moon kingdom.

1,000 Years Ago

"I'm sure Zwei told you all about the Silver Millennium. How all the planets lived together in peace and harmony. Our moon kingdom was the center of it all. We had parties every night, dancing, and fireworks. It couldn't have been a happier place."

The citizens of the moon and the other planets were happily waltzing in the ballroom. However, one very important person was missing, the moon princess herself, Ruby.

"You had a fascination with Remnant, Ruby, because you had fallen in love with a young man from there."

Princess Ruby was standing at her balcony looking at the nearby planet of Remnant. She sighed to herself.

"Princess Ruby!" A voice called out.

Ruby felt a flutter in her stomach as she looked down to see the prince of Remnant, Ozma, standing in the courtyard.

"Prince Ozma!" She called back, "I'm so glad you're here. I was afraid you weren't gonna make it to the ball."

"I'm afraid I can't stay Ruby I need to talk you," Ozma said.

Ruby looked concerned, "hold on I'll be right there."

She raced down the stairs to her prince.

Ozma smiled at her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"What's the matter?" Ruby asked, leaning into his touch.

"It's Remnant, fewer and fewer people there are being born with the ability to perform magic. A woman named Salem has convinced many people that the moon kingdom is to blame. That somehow you are hoarding all the magic for yourselves." Ozma said solemnly.

"But why? We have done nothing to Remnant," Ruby said.

"I know but Salem, her magic is unlike any I've ever seen. She's even been able to convince one of our gods to aid her. He's gifted her with this terrible dark power. She's using it to sway more and more people to her side. She even corrupted my four knights and turned to them against me. She wants to destroy the moon kingdom, steal its magic and then take over the universe," Ozma said.

"Is there anyway to stop her?" Ruby asked.

Ozma sighed, "I do not know. But I came here to warn you that she intends to attack this very night. You have to warn your mother and the others."

"What will you do?" Ruby asked, her eyes beginning to well with tears.

"I am Remnant's prince so I have to protect the people. But, I cannot let Salem destroy this place, or you. So, I will fight by the side of the moon." Her prince said.

"Oh Ozma..."

Later that evening Princess Ruby finally made her appearance at the ball.

She had just descended the stairs when she felt a hand on her arm.

"May I have this dance?" A man wearing a black tuxedo and white mask over his eyes asked.

Princess Ruby blushed as she recognized that this masked stranger was Prince Ozma. After their conversation he had tried to return to his home planet to dissuade the people from fighting back, but it was no use.

The two began to waltz across the dance floor and all the attendants stared in awe.

"I had to dance with you one last time," Prince Ozma whispered to her.

Ruby moved closer into his embrace as he twirled her around, "don't say that my love. We will win this war."

"I hope you're right," Ozma said.

Later the two were standing on the balcony overlooking the courtyard.

"I can't believe this is happening," Ruby said sadly.

Ozma reached for her hand, "I know. But we will fight this together Ruby. And...if something happens, I want to be sure you know how much I love you."

Ruby blushed and smiled sadly, "I do. And I love you too."

Ozma lifted her chin up with his hand and leaned in close.

His princess smiled and pressed her soft lips to his.

The two held their kiss for a few moments before Ruby reached up and took off her star locket that she usually wore around her neck.

"Here. A token of my love. So you have a way of remembering me."

Ozma gently took the locket from her hand and opened it. It began playing a sweet melody. It was their special waltz.

He reached over and placed his hand on her cheek.

Soon a dark cloud appeared over the surface of the moon. It began to laugh as it took the shape of a purple and black dragon with ram like horns. This was Remnant's god of darkness, Malum.

Riding on top of the dragon was the wicked sorceress, Salem.

Queen Summer and her advisor Zwei watched in horror as Salem waved her hand and a portal opened on the moon's surface. An army of humans and faunus from Remnant began running out of the portal and charged the palace.

"Zwei go warn everyone! Tell them to get ready for a fight!" Queen Summer said.

Zwei nodded and ran into the ballroom to warn everyone about the attack.

"We're under attack!" He shouted, "everyone get to your positions! We have to protect the kingdom!"

Princesses Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus, members of Princess Ruby's court and her protectors, headed out first to the front lines. They transformed into the sailor scouts and began attacking the intruders.

"Let's combine our powers!" Sailor Mercury shouted.

The other girls nodded and got into position.

Sailor Mercury held her hands out in front of her, "Mercury bubbles blast!"

Sailor Mars clasped her hands together with her pointer fingers facing upward, "Mars fire ignite!"

Flames burst from her fingertips.

Electricity crackled around Sailor Jupiter and crossed her arms over her chest and extended her pinkies and pointer fingers upward, "Jupiter thunder crash!"

Sailor Venus held her right hand up, pointing skyward, "Venus crescent beams!"

A beam of light shot out of the tip of her finger.

The four magical attacks combined into a powerful blast aimed right at Malum. But the dark being merely caught it between his claws, absorbing them all into a purple sphere.

"How adorable that you think that can beat me," he chuckled before squeezing the sphere within his hand, creating a massive shockwave that enveloped the four sailor scouts, killing them instantly.

The shockwave continued to spread reducing the magnificent structures of the moon kingdom to dust.

As for Salem she was now standing on a fallen pillar directing her warriors.

"Go! Go!" She shouted, "soon we shall have Queen Summer begging for mercy."

She began to shoot beams of energy from her hands, further leveling the surrounding buildings.

At the very front of the army of Remnant soldiers stood Ozma's four knights, who had been corrupted by Salem's dark magic.

"Continue the assault! Charge!" Roman, one of them, shouted.

Princess Ruby watched in horror as her kingdom was destroyed before her very eyes.

Suddenly, Salem teleported in front of her, "hello there Princess."

Princess Ruby took a step back, "you're Salem..."

"That's right," Salem said before firing an energy beam at Ruby, but before it could touch her a red rose flew into her path and it sent up a magical barrier shielding the princess from the dark sorceress. 

"What?! Who dares?!" Salem asked angrily.

"I do, I have sworn to protect this kingdom!" Prince Ozma said as he stood in front of Ruby to protect her.

"Ozma you're on the wrong side," Salem insisted, "come back and join Remnant's side in this war! Instead of just ruling one planet you can rule the whole universe!"

"Thanks but no thanks," Ozma said, "why would I want to side with a being of pure evil like you?!"

Salem glared at him, "insolent fool! Malum take care of them!"

Malum flew over the palace and began inhaling, pulling up the rubble toward him.

Ozma and Ruby tried to hang on to the balcony but it was no use, Ozma was suddenly pulled away from his princess and up toward the dark being.

"Ozma!" Ruby shouted.

"Go Ruby you must run and hide!" Ozma shouted back to her.

"No! I won't let you leave me. I love you!" She let go of the balcony and allowed herself to be pulled upward toward Malum as well.

Salem laughed maliciously, "say goodbye to your princess!" She raised her hands up and a blast of dark lightning rained down and struck Ozma and Ruby in their chests, killing them both.

Queen Summer, who had been fighting on her own on the other side of the palace, heard her daughter scream and turned to see her and her prince's lifeless bodies floating up toward the sky.

"Ruby!!" She cried out in horror.

"No...not the princess," Zwei said sadly. He began to silently weep.

Queen Summer sunk to her knees as her kingdom continued to be destroyed around her.

Salem meanwhile was laughing triumphantly.  "The moon kingdom is no more! Now there's nothing that can stand in my way."

Hearing this Summer got a determined look on her face and summoned the crescent moon wand.

"Queen Summer what are you doing?" Zwei asked.

"What I have to. Imperial silver crystal come to me!"

The small silver crystal appeared in her palm and she placed it in its holder on the wand, she had used it only a few minutes before to seal Salem's seven shadow warriors inside.

"I won't let you win this!" Summer shouted before pointing the wand at Salem, "Cosmic moon power!"

The crystal and her silver eyes both let out a brilliant light that spread across the surface of the moon kingdom, wiping out Salem, Malum, and the other soldiers.

Summer fell to her knees and began panting.

"You did it my queen!" Zwei cheered.

"N-no," the moon queen said weakly.

The corgi looked confused, "but...they're gone."

"No...I only sent them back to the negaverse where Malum is from and sealed them away. It won't be permanent, they will be able to escape, some day. To be able to destroy them fully I would've needed to use all the power in the imperial silver crystal, but I can't do that. I need some power left for one last thing,"Summer explained.

"But your highness the crystal is tied to your very life force. If you use all the power-" Zwei couldn't even finish his sentence.

"I know...but there's nothing left for me here. A life without my daughter is not one I want to live." Queen Summer said.

Wincing as she had already used most of the magic contained in the crystal, she waved her wand. "Silver crystal, bring Ruby and all that have fallen here today to me."

Princess Ruby, her court, Prince Ozma, and the citizens of the moon who had given their life protecting the kingdom, all turned into silver orbs of light and were pulled into the crystal.

Queen Summer collapsed and laid back against a fallen pillar.

"N-now," she could feel her strength slipping away, "for you my sweet Zwei. Look after Ruby for me ok? Make sure she's happy. And when Salem returns, make sure they fight back, do not let this happen again. None of you will remember this place or what happened, but if you need to fight back you will know what to do"

"Yes my queen," Zwei bowed.

Summer waved the wand over the small corgi and he was pulled inside the crystal as well.

"Silver crystal, restore them to life and send them to the future, send them where there is peace."

With that she let go of the wand as it floated into the sky and turned into stardust.

Queen Summer smiled sadly as she closed her eyes and her hand fell limp at her side.

"And that, my sweet Ruby, is what happened to our kingdom."

In a flash the sailor scouts where transported back to the negaverse. They were all stunned by what they had just seen.

"S-she saved all of us," Sailor Moon said sadly.

"Yeah...she sure did," Sailor Jupiter said.

Sailor Moon fell to her knees and wept. Sailor Venus quickly kneeled next to her and pulled her into her arms.

"Your mom is the reason we're still here," Sailor Venus assured her.

"And all this just makes me wanna take Salem down more," Sailor Mars said.

Sailor Mercury nodded in agreement, "me too."

Just then, they heard the sound of someone crying out in pain.

"That was Zwei," Sailor Moon said.

Sailor Mercury quickly scanned the surrounding area, "it's coming from this way!"

She and the other scouts quickly raced toward the sound.

Zwei ducked down as an arc of dark energy, courtesy of Roman, sailed over his head.

"Zwei!" Sailor Moon shouted.

The small corgi had injuries littering his body, it was obvious he had been fighting the negaverse general for a while, "get out of here all of you!"

He tried to take a few steps but collapsed.

"Hurting animals? That's low even for you!" Sailor Moon said.

Roman turned around, "I thought I got rid of you! Oh well no matter!"

He created two boomerangs of energy and threw them at Sailor Moon, they sliced across her calves and arms and she stumbled backwards.

Sailor Venus quickly caught her sister before she hit the ground.

The boomerangs went back to Roman and he smirked.

"Girls it's time to protect the princess and the silver crystal," Sailor Venus said before holding up her power stick, "Venus Power!"

The other scouts followed her lead.

"Mercury Power!"

"Mars Power!"

"Jupiter Power!"

The combined power of the sailor scouts began creating a protective barrier around them and Sailor Moon.

Roman began throwing out boomerang after boomerang at the scouts. They started slicing at the girls skin and hair.

After a while the pain began to be too great and they started to lose their concentration. They all fell to the ground and the barrier fizzled out.

"Sailor scouts!" Sailor Moon yelled in horror.

"Now you truly have nobody to protect you," Roman said evilly, "ready to give up the crystal?"

Sailor Moon thought back to the sacrifices her mother had made, the ones her friends had made, she would not let them be in vain.

She took a step forward and summoned the crescent moon wand.

"I am Sailor Moon! The champion of justice! Princess of the moon kingdom! And behalf of the moon I will right wrongs and triumph over evil! And you Roman are the worst kind!"

She pointed her wand at him and her silver eyes glowed brightly.

Roman tried to throw more of his energy boomerangs at her but Sailor Moon merely knocked them aside with her wand.

"Say goodbye," she said as she held her wand up and the crystal began glowing with the same silver light as her eyes.

"Cosmic moon power!"

Her eyes and the crystal both let out a bright beam of light.

Roman felt himself he pushed back and he could feel himself losing strength, "no...I won't let this child win!"

But, just then, one of his boomerangs circled back around and this time it pierced Roman in the chest.

The negaverse general gasped and fell forward onto his knees, he knew he was finished.

"Neo my love," he thought, "if you can hear me lead my soul to where yours rests. I'm coming to join you."

With that he was completely engulfed by the crystal's magic and his body turned to dust.

Sailor Moon sighed in relief.

"Way to go Sailor Moon," Zwei said weakly.

The moon heroine raced forward and gathered the corgi into her arms, "why did you go up against him Zwei?"

"It wasn't really by choice," Zwei said, "I was trying to find you to tell you. The path I took, it lead me to the North Pole. I found the true entrance to the negaverse. And there's a lot of dark energy seeping out of it, I think Queen Salem is ready to attack Remnant."

Sailor Moon stood up and looked at her friends, "well I say it's time for us to finally take Salem down. You with me girls?"

"Always," Sailor Venus said and the other girls nodded as well.

"Then Salem is about to meet her match." Sailor Moon said confidently.
