Chapter 28: To Be a Princess
I mentioned last chapter how RavenAkuma made edits of Ruby and Blake for this story. Well here's the ones she made of Cinder, Nora, and Yang. Thanks again Raven!
"Hey Jenni what's going on over there?" Ruby asked as she and her friend watched a trio of girls get out of a limousine in front of Beacon Academy.
Jenni looked up, "oh I think those girls are from the finishing school. There's a program there called the Princess Seminar. It's run by a real countess and teaches girls how to act like princesses."
"A class that teaches you about being a princess?" Ruby thought, "I could use that."
A little later the girls were seated in Ms. Goodwitch's class. However, while Ruby did have her math book propped open on her desk, she was secretly asleep behind it.
In Ruby's dream she was walking through an elegant ballroom that was filled with people.
"Announcing her highness Princess Ruby!" Someone announced and everyone clapped for the young woman.
Tuxedo Mask stepped forward and extended his hand, "may I have the honor of the first dance princess?"
Ruby smiled and nodded before taking his hand.
"Ruby! Ruby! Ruby!" The people began chanting.
"Ruby. Ruby!" Ms. Goodwitch yelled for the fifth time.
Ruby snapped awake, "oh..uh yes ma'am?"
Ms. Goodwitch sighed, "I asked if you did your homework."
Ruby thought for a moment then gave a sheepish smile.
Her teacher rolled her eyes, "I should've known."
She moved onto the next seat to check that student's homework and Ruby groaned to herself.
"I'll bet princesses never have to do homework."
With that she sighed and went back to reading her book.

"I do not tolerate insubordination in my army Prince Ozma," Queen Salem said to both the aforementioned prince and Roman who were kneeled before her. "You and Roman must work together to retrieve the silver crystal."
Prince Ozma scoffed, "no thank you. I don't need help. I work better alone."
Roman crossed his arms, "I was thinking the same thing."
Salem rolled her eyes, "fine. I don't really care how you do it as long as one of you brings down Sailor Moon and brings her crystal to me."

"The golden arrow which reached me from the bottom of the darkness. It is a letter from the one I love, I am bewildered," the Countess who was running the Princess Seminar read to her students.
"That's such a pretty poem," Ruby said as she and Zwei watched the class from a tree outside the Countess's mansion.
"Excuse me! Young lady!" A man called from below, "if you wish to make a more graceful entrance I suggest using the front door."
Ruby blushed and she climbed down the tree, "sorry...I just really want to take your class. Is there any way you can fit me in?"
The man shook his head, "unfortunately we only allow students that have been recommended by ladies in the class."
"Oh...I see," Ruby slumped.
"Now what's going on out here?" The Countess had heard the commotion and came to see what had happened.
"I just wanted to take your class. But it's ok I'm going now."
The Countess chuckled, "what a lively young lady you are. We could do with someone like you in our class. I suppose we can make an exception just this once."
Ruby's eyes lit up, "really?! You mean it?!"
The Countess nodded, "there's just a simple test I need you to pass." She turned to her servant, "go get the discus please."
The man nodded and turned to do just that.
He soon returned and handed Ruby a plastic green discus.
"Um?" Ruby turned it over in her hands, "you want me to throw it? That's it?"
The Countess nodded, "if you can show me that you are a great discus thrower you can join my seminar."
The teen girl nodded and she positioned her feet and her hands, "here I go!" She threw the plastic disk and it soared into the open window before circling around inside the dining room and coming back outside. Ruby caught it effortlessly.
"Marvelous!" The Countess clapped her hands, "welcome to the Princess Seminar!"

"So Ruby's been accepted into some princess program?" Blake asked as she and the other sailor scouts were seated outside Oniyuri temple.
Yang nodded, "she spent the last few days walking around balancing books on her head trying to work on her posture."
Shaking her head she added, "but I don't think she needs to learn how to be proper. She's perfect the way she is."
"Yeah but maybe that class can really teach her how to act like a princess," Cinder spoke up.
"Hey maybe we should try and get in too," said Nora, "Zwei said we were all princesses before."
The other girls looked at each other.
"She's right," Blake said.
Yang shrugged, "it could be fun I guess."
Cinder nodded in agreement. So with that the girls headed to the finishing school.
———————————————————————
Meanwhile, all of the seminar students were on the front lawn practicing their discus throws.
Ruby was definitely one of the best, she was able to throw it farther than the others and hit the target over and over again.
The Countess watched her students from her window. "That Ruby girl is certainly amazing at throwing the discus."
She turned around, "Mr. Roman, what do you think?"
Roman walked up beside her, "she is amazing. Maybe we've found Sailor Moon, after all her tiara turns into a discus when she throws it."
"It's funny," the Countess said, "she's so good at throwing that discus but when it comes to the other lessons I've been teaching her, well, she could use some more work."
She looked at a nearby clock, "forgive me I have to go. But I'll be in touch."
With that, she headed to the front lawn to collect her students.
Later, the seminar students were all dressed in matching pink ball gowns and were sitting at a banquet table. Plates and silverware were set up before them.
Ruby was sitting at the end of the table and she pulled on the collar of her dress, "why is this so tight?!"
Some of the servers came out with bowls of soup and placed them in front of the girls. Ruby grabbed one of the spoons from the group that was laid next to her bowl and began eating.
One of the girls next to her nudged her, "you're using the wrong spoon. It's this one." She pointed to a different spoon.
Ruby sighed and grabbed the correct spoon, "and why are there so many different utensils for different things? Why can't we just use one?"
She sighed and continued eating.
After the meal was served the girls were told to head to ballroom for their dance lesson. There they were paired up with young men whom the Countess had invited.
Ruby found herself struggling to dance with her partner and she kept tripping over her feet.
"Graceful now ladies! Dance with the music!" The Countess said, "this is our final lesson. If I touch your shoulder then you will graduate from the princess seminar."
Ruby tripped again and fell onto the ground "stupid lady stilts!!"
"Need some help little sister?" A voice asked.
Ruby looked up to see Yang extending a hand to her.
"Yang you're here?!" Ruby asked
Yang nodded, "we all came. We had to see what this was all about."
The silver eyed teen sighed, "I'm no good at this Yang. I'm not cut out to be a princess."
Yang shook her head, "of course you are. Here let me show you."
She repositioned her sister's right hand onto her partner's shoulder and her left into his right.
"See. Now just take it slow. I'll be over here."
"Thanks Yang," Ruby said relieved as she began dancing with her partner again.
Nora, meanwhile, was trying to lead her partner into a quickstep while Cinder was growing frustrated that her partner wouldn't let her lead despite him saying that was always the man's role in the dance.
The Countess began coming around and tapping some of the students on the shoulder.
Blake was happy to see she was picked as was Yang. But the Countess walked right by Cinder, Nora, and Ruby.
"Ok those who passed may go into the drawing room and I'll give you your certificates." The Countess said with a smile.
The students who hadn't passed all clapped politely for the ones who had.
Ruby sighed sadly and sat down on the stairs, "told you I was no good."
Her two friends sat beside her.
"Don't worry Ruby this class is stupid anyway. I mean why can't the lady be the one to lead the man in a waltz?" Cinder asked.
"Yeah and why do ballroom dances always have to be so slow and boring. We should pick up the pace and have fun," said Nora, giving her a side hug.
The teen girl smiled, "thanks you guys."
———————————————————————
"Why is it so dark in here?" Blake asked as she and the other graduates entered the drawing room.
One of the other girls switched on a light and they were all stunned to see the room was filled with golden statues of young women.
"Blake?" Yang gave her friend a look, "these statues look almost too lifelike don't you think?"
Blake caught her gaze and nodded, "yeah. Be on guard."
"Oh these aren't statues. Well they are now," a voice laughed.
The Countess put her hand on the shoulder of the nearest statue.
"What do you mean?" Yang asked.
The Countess laughed, "I mean these statues were once beautiful young ladies just like you. But I think I'll keep them here and make a nice little garden out of them. They're just so perfect and poised don't you agree?"
All of the students began backing up nervously as the Countess began glowing with a dark light. In a flash she turned into a purple skinned humanoid wearing a blue dress that resembled ocean waves. The dress and her body were adorned with golden scallop shells.
"She's been turned into a monster from the negaverse!" Blake said.
The monster curtsied, "lovely to meet you all. You'll make fine additions to my statue garden."
She extended her arms and all of the shells on her dress and crown opened, spraying the girls, including Blake and Yang, with a dark green liquid. As the liquid engulfed them it solidified, turning the girls into statues.
Outside the room, Nora, Cinder and Ruby heard the girls scream.
"You heard that right?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah let's check it out!" Cinder said.
The girls started running toward the drawing room but the monster materialized in front of them, blocking their way.
"Sorry you didn't pass my course but that means one of you is really Sailor Moon," the monster said.
"Uh...why's that?" Ruby asked nervously.
The creature tapped a sharp fingernail against her chin, "well Mr. Roman told me Sailor Moon is clumsy and foolish. She doesn't have what it takes to be a princess."
The shells on her arms opened again, "time for you to join my statue garden!"
The three girls ducked out of the way and ran down the hallway toward the back door. They threw it open and ran out onto the lawn.
"Moon prism power!" Ruby shouted.
"Mars power!" Said Cinder.
"Jupiter power!" Nora yelled.
Ruby's locket and Cinder and Nora's power sticks glowed and turned them into sailor scouts.
The creature ran out onto the lawn after them, "where did they go?!"
"Up here!" Sailor Moon shouted.
The creature turned and saw the sailor scouts standing on the roof.
"We need to take care of those shells," Sailor Mars said.
She clasped her hands together with her pointer fingers facing upward, "Mars fire ignite!"
Sailor Jupiter crossed her arms over her chest and extended her pinkies and pointer fingers upward as electricity crackled around her, "Jupiter thunder crash!"
Flames burst from Mars' fingertips and combined with Jupiter's lightning to destroy the shells adorning the creatures body.
However, the monster expelled the dark green liquid and solidified the fire and the electricity.
"She turned my lightning and Mars' fire to stone," Sailor Jupiter said in shock.
Suddenly, a red rose sliced through the air and Tuxedo Mask materialized next to the creature at its right.
"Good evening Prince Ozma," the creature said.
Sailor Moon gulped, this was definitely someone she didn't want to face at the moment.
"So are you gonna give us the silver crystal Sailor Moon or does my friend here have to turn you into a statue?" Tuxedo Mask asked.
He extended his hand toward her, "I promise not to hurt you if you give it to me."
Roman then appeared at the creature's left side. "Excuse me?! What do you think you're doing Tuxedo Mask?! You're supposed to destroy Sailor Moon."
Tuxedo Mask looked at the negaverse general, "I'm only interested in the crystal. Not fighting the sailor scouts."
"Is that so. Doesn't sound like you're following my plan."
"Your plan? We agreed to work alone."
Roman looked at the shell monster, "You!Destroy the sailor scouts!"
"Oh no you don't!" Tuxedo Mask yelled, "get the crystal!"
"No destroy the scouts!"
"Get the crystal!"
The monster looked between the two men, "I'm not sure which order to follow."
The two continued to argue and Sailor Jupiter finally nudged Sailor Moon.
"What?" She asked.
"While they're arguing. This is your chance to heal the Countess," Sailor Jupiter said.
Sailor Moon's eyes widened, "Oh! You're right!"
She snuck around the two bickering villains and stood behind the shell monster. She held the crescent moon wand before drawing a large circle of moonlight around herself, "moon healing activation!"
The circle of moonlight encased the shell monster inside and destroyed it, transforming the Countess back into her normal self.
Roman noticed what had happened and quickly vanished. He didn't want to be around if Salem somehow saw the monster destroyed and the fact that he and Tuxedo Mask had been bickering like children.
"Now that we got that out of the way it's time to fix you Tuxedo Mask," Sailor Moon said as she pointed the crescent moon wand at him, "moon heal-"
"Sailor Moon," Tuxedo Mask cut her off, "you can't change who I am. I'm not loyal to you. I never was. Keep the crystal for now I'll collect it next time we meet."
With that he pulled his cape over himself and vanished.
Sailor Moon felt herself begin to tear up, "never on my side? No...no that isn't true."
"Sailor Moon!" Sailor Mars said, "we need to check on the others. Make sure they're ok now."
The moon heroine wiped the tears from her eyes, "right..."
They helped the Countess inside and were relieved to see that all the girls who had been petrified in stone had been turned back to normal.

The next morning Ruby yelped in surprise as her alarm went off and she tumbled head first out of bed.
Yang walked by her room and snickered, "not very princess-like sis."
Ruby blew her bangs out of her face, "I'm still working on it."
Zwei watched as Ruby got to her feet and sighed before putting his paws over his eyes, "if this is working on it we have a long way to go."
