Chapter 24: Enter Sailor Venus

"So Neo," Queen Salem asked, "have you figured out who Tuxedo Mask is yet?"

"I regret to say I have not majesty," Neo said with a bow of her head, "but I have figured out a way to find him. Whenever Sailor Moon and the other scouts are in trouble he always shows up to save them, without fail."

"Hmm, so you have a way to track him. But that still doesn't solve our problem of him having two of the rainbow crystals." Salem pointed out.

"If I may my queen, Roman and I have been working on a plan for several days now. We will capture Sailor Moon and when Tuxedo Mask appears we will order him to give the crystals to us to spare Sailor Moon's life," Neo said.

Salem seemed skeptical, "do you really think he'll do it? Or that you'll actually be able to capture Sailor Moon?"

"That's why I've revised our plan," Roman said as he approached the twosome. He bowed before the dark queen, "instead of just capturing Sailor Moon we'll capture all four of the scouts at once. That way there will be nobody to save them and Tuxedo Mask will be forced to hand over his crystals."

"Then in that case I'm putting you in charge of this plan Roman," Queen Salem said, "bring those two crystals back to me. I want the imperial silver crystal."

"Of course," Roman said as he and his lover bowed once more.

Now, speaking of the heroine she was downtown enjoying some shopping with Nora and Yang. They had also brought Zwei along and the corgi was happily walking on his leash looking at everything.

They walked toward a book store that was currently having its windows cleaned by a pair of window washers.

On the top floor of the building Oscar was flipping through a magazine and casually waved to the window washers as they began cleaning off the large window in front of him.

Suddenly, a tiny pair of daggers sliced through the air and embedded themselves in the cables on the cart, completely cutting through the ones on the right side. The men cried out in fear as they went sliding to the side. The cables on the other side began fraying and the cart was seconds away from plummeting straight down onto the pavement.

"They need help!" Oscar yelled, but he wasn't sure he could make it there in time. However, he did notice the sunlight catch the shiny metallic surface of the dagger imbedded in the wire.

"Someone...did this on purpose," he thought.

The cables snapped free and people began screaming as the two workers began falling toward the ground. But before they could meet their untimely demise someone jumped down off the very top of the roof and grabbed the two men before safely setting them on a roof awning.

Everyone looked up at the hero.

"It's Sailor Moon!" Someone said.

"She saved those people!" Shouted someone else.

Nora and Ruby were stunned as they watched this 'Sailor Moon' smile widely at the crowd and blow kisses.

"She's not-" Ruby began.

"I know..." Nora finished for her.

"Sailor Moon? Really?" Zwei thought.

"What's wrong you two?" Yang asked them.

"Oh um..." Ruby was unsure of what to tell her sister.

Yang gave her a perplexed look and as her little sister was struggling to think of what to say Nora noticed 'Sailor Moon' taking off down the street.

"Ruby we gotta go now!" Nora said before taking her hand and running off with her. Ruby also quickly pulled her scroll out and let Blake and Cinder know what was going on.

Zwei freed himself from Yang's arms and followed them.

"What? Ruby! Nora! Wait for me!" Yang yelled as she followed them.

As the girls ran after the mystery heroine Oscar exited the bookstore. "That's not the Sailor Moon I know, something's wrong. I gotta go after her."

With that he turned and ran down the block.

Meanwhile the new Sailor Moon was quickly making her way toward a shipyard. Up on a shipping crate Roman was watching as she approached.

"This new Sailor Moon is the perfect bait for Tuxedo Mask. Soon we'll have the crystals in our hands."

———————————————————————

Oscar soon made it to the shipyard after trailing the mystery Sailor Moon. But he had lost sight of her.

"Where is she?!" He asked aloud, "she just vanished."

The young man groaned but began looking for the heroine once more.

"So you two saw her swing on a rope and save some guys?" Cinder asked as she and the other sailor scouts were checking out the other side of the shipyard.

"Yeah it was really weird," Ruby said.

"Well we need to do now is find her and figure out if she's really on our side or not," Blake pointed out.

"You really think there could be two Sailor Moon's?" Nora asked.

The cat faunus shrugged, "I don't know. But Zwei didn't you mention something about a fifth sailor scout? Maybe that's her."

Zwei thought for a moment, "maybe..."

"Well if she is a real sailor scout she's not taking my name," Ruby pouted.

"Ruby?! Ruby where are you?!" The girls heard a voice shout.

Ruby's eyes widened and she and the other girls turned to see Yang a few yards away.

"What's Yang doing here?!" Cinder whisper-shouted.

"I don't know. Probably looking for me?" Ruby said, "we did kinda leave her behind at the shopping center."

"Well she can't know we're here," Blake said, "we have to find a way to get her to leave."

"I'll handle it," Zwei volunteered, "you girls keep looking for Sailor Moon."

"Quit calling her that!" Ruby snapped.

Zwei went over to Yang while Ruby and her friends went the other direction.

"Ruby?!" Yang called again.

She then heard barking and turned to see Zwei running toward her.

"Hey Zwei," The blonde kneeled down to scratch under his chin, "have you seen Ruby?"

Zwei whined and began tugging on a bandanna tied around Yang's leg, trying to get her to go in the opposite direction of the shipyard.

"What? What are you trying to tell me?"

Zwei barked.

"This is no time for games Zwei I have to find Ruby." Yang insisted.

The corgi was about to try something else to get the blonde girl to leave when suddenly a scream cut through the air.

"What was that?!" Yang asked before getting up and running toward the sound.

Zwei watched her run off and he inwardly groaned.

———————————————————————

"Did you guys hear that?" Nora asked.

Ruby nodded and she began looking around, "guys up there!" She pointed to a nearby metal tower. At the very top, tied up and hanging from the structure was the mystery Sailor Moon.

"Tuxedo Mask come out wherever you are or I'll drop your precious Sailor Moon," Roman cackled.

"That guy captured Sailor Moon!" Cinder exclaimed.

"We gotta rescue her!" Ruby insisted. She was about to run over to the tower but Blake held her back.

"It could be a trap Ruby. You heard that guy he's trying to lure Tuxedo Mask out."

The silver eyed girl shook her head, "I don't care. I need to know what's going on and who that is."

"She's right," Nora said and Cinder nodded in agreement.

Blake sighed, "ok. I wanna know what's going on too," she admitted.

"Then let's go sailor scouts," Ruby said.

She touched her locket and her friends held up their power sticks.

"Moon prism power!"

"Mercury power!"

"Mars power!"

"Jupiter power!"

The magic items glowed and turned them into the sailor scouts.

Roman was growing impatient, "come on Tuxedo Mask show up to save the day like you always do."

"Hey you!" Sailor Moon shouted. "You let that sailor scout go. I'm Sailor Moon, the original by the way, the champion of justice. And on behalf of the moon." She gestured to her friends, "and the planets Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter, the four of us will right wrongs and triumph over evil. That means you!"

Roman clapped sarcastically. "So you're the sailor scouts. Pleasure to finally meet you. Too bad it'll be the only time."

He held his hands out and they flashed with dark energy, "magic dome! Surround them!"

A line of electricity circled around the sailor scouts and it flashed brightly before forming a dome surrounding the foursome in a barrier.

"Like that will hold us back." Sailor Mars said.

She clasped her hands together with her pointer fingers facing upward, "Mars fire ignite!" A stream of flames burst from her fingertips but they didn't even scratch the barrier.

"Well that didn't work," Sailor Jupiter said.

Roman's face appeared in the dome's surface, "you think you can do better?" He laughed.

Sailor Jupiter grit her teeth before she crossed her arms over her chest and extended her pinkies and pointer fingers upward, "Jupiter thunder crash!"

Electricity crackled around her and several lightning bolts struck the barrier, but again nothing happened.

"Not even a dent," Sailor Mercury said in shock.

"You children are in way over your head, your measly powers can't stand up to the negaverse. Now barrier! Shrink and crush them!" Roman ordered.

The barrier began shrinking and began closing in on the sailor scouts.

"This is bad," Sailor Jupiter said as she and the others had to back up as the dome shrank.

"I hope you're on your way Tuxedo Mask," Sailor Moon thought, "I think you're our only hope."

———————————————————————

Now speaking of the hero he was quickly making his way toward the sailor scouts.

"I've gotta find Sailor Moon, she's in danger I can feel it!"

Something then caught his eye and he skidded to a stop. He looked up to see the false Sailor Moon still dangling from the metal tower.

"Sailor Moon! Hold on I'm coming!" He yelled.

He leaped up and used his cane to cut the rope holding her. He then held her in his arms bridal style as he jumped back down to the ground.

"Are you ok?!" Tuxedo Mask asked worriedly.

'Sailor Moon' reached up to cup his cheek in her left hand, but then she summoned a dagger in her right hand and stabbed it into his shoulder.

Tuxedo Mask cried out in pain and stumbled backward.

"W-why?" He asked as he pulled the dagger free.

'Sailor Moon' smirked and pink light began traveling up her body changing her sailor scout uniform to that of the negaverse. Her black and red hair to pink, white, and brown. In seconds the false Sailor Moon had vanished and Neo was standing in her place.

"You're so gullible Tuxedo Mask," she giggled, "and with that injury you won't get far!" She raised her hand up and summoned a storm of glass shards. The hero barely had time to duck out of the way.

He quickly ran and hid among the shipping crates, still clutching his throbbing shoulder.

"I'll find you Tuxedo Mask," said Neo in a singsong voice that echoed through his mind, "you can't run from me."

"Now where are you?" Neo asked as she began cutting the shipping crates apart with her rapier.

Tuxedo Mask panted as he continued to run away. He could already feel blood soaking into his shirt from his injury.

"Found you!" Neo shouted gleefully.

She flipped over a crate and slashed at Tuxedo Mask's face, cutting the white mask he wore over his eyes in two.

Queen Salem was watching this unfold from her seer Grimm, "wait...I know who that is. At last the identity of Tuxedo Mask is revealed."

"You wanna give up hero?" Neo asked, "give me your crystals and I'll let you go. I'll even heal your injury."

"I-I won't surrender," Tuxedo Mask insisted.

"Fine have it your way," the villainess said, she was about to cut the hero down when a small rock hit her arm.

"What in the?! Who did that?!" She asked, looking around.

This distraction allowed Tuxedo Mask to slip away unnoticed.

Yang sighed in relief from her hiding spot, she had heard the sounds of fighting and went to investigate. When she saw the injured hero facing off against Neo she knew she had to do something. So, she had grabbed a nearby rock and thrown it to get Neo's attention somewhere else.

The blonde then saw the hero make his way out of the labyrinth of shipping crates and she went to help him.

———————————————————————

The four sailor scouts were now standing back to back as the barrier was shrinking faster and faster.

"That fake Sailor Moon was part of your plan wasn't she?" Sailor Mercury asked

"Clever girl," Roman smirked.

The barrier shrank a few more inches.

"Roman," Neo appeared at his side, "I have bad news. I had Tuxedo Mask at my mercy but he got away. Someone saved him."

Roman looked alarmed, "but who? I have all the sailor scouts here."

The barrier was inches away from crushing the scouts.

"Help!" Sailor Moon called out.

Tuxedo Mask, who was still hiding from the villains with Yang, raised his head up at the sound of the heroine's voice. As did Yang.

"That's Ruby..." Yang thought.

She looked at the caped hero, "you stay here I'm gonna go see who that is." She then began running toward where she had heard Ruby yelling from.

"Oh no!" Zwei thought as he ran after Yang.

It didn't take long for the blonde to find herself on the edge of the battle between Roman, Neo and the sailor scouts. She saw Roman still controlling the shrinking black dome imprisoning the sailor scouts.

"What in the world?" She thought.

"Help!! Someone help us!" Ruby's voice rang out from the black dome.

Yang's eyes widened as she realized where her little sister was, "Ruby hang on I'm coming!"

"Yang stop!" Zwei suddenly yelled. The corgi stood in front of the blonde girl.

Yang looked at her pet corgi in shock, "you can talk?!"

"Yes but I'll explain later. You have to leave! Right now!"

Yang shook her head, "no way. Ruby is being held prisoner in that dome thing. I have to save her."

"You can't. Look I know you care about her but those two over there are extremely powerful. If you fight them you could get hurt. Trust me she'll be ok."

Yang's lilac eyes narrowed, "Zwei, I don't care how powerful those creeps are. They're holding my sister hostage. And nothing is going to keep me from protecting her."

A flaming, golden heart emblem appeared on her forehead.

Zwei looked shocked, "Venus..."

"What?"

"You're the fifth sailor scout! That means you can help Ruby!"

Zwei did several backflips in the air causing a orange stick with a shiny golden tip to materialize in the air. The top of the stick had the same symbol that was on Yang's forehead.

"Here take this," he told her.

Yang picked it up, "how's this supposed to help."

"I'll help you. Hold it up and say 'Venus power!'"

Yang held it above her head, "Venus power!"

As soon as she shouted that she began to glow with a bright light and her clothes transformed into a white leotard, a short orange skirt, and matching strapped heels on her feet. White gloves appeared on her hands and two gold bows appeared, one on her chest and the other at her back at the waistband of her skirt. A golden tiara with a topaz gem set in it appeared on her forehead.

The newly transformed Sailor Venus began examining her appearance, "cool! But how is this gonna help me save Ruby?"

"You'll have to use your special power. Venus crescent beams," Zwei explained.

Yang blinked and rubbed her temple, something about that seemed familiar, as if she had done it before.

She held her right hand up, pointing skyward, "Venus crescent beams!"

She then pointed at Roman, "Smash!!"

A beam of light shot out of the tip of her finger and went straight through Roman's hands.

He howled in pain and grabbed at his injuries. Thankfully this distracted him enough that the dark spell was broken and the barrier vanished.

"Roman!" Neo said in alarm.

The sailor scouts breathed a sigh of relief as the barrier vanished.

"Someone saved us, but who?" Sailor Moon asked.

"That would be me! Sailor Venus," the newest sailor scout said.

"I'll make her pay for hurting you my love," Neo said to Roman.

"Roman, Neopolitan, return to me now!" Queen Salem's voice echoed in their head.

"What? But majesty..." Neo started.

"Now Neo! Or do you dare question me?!"

"Of course not my Queen."

She went back to Roman's side and together they teleported away.

The sailor scouts looked at Sailor Venus.

"Thanks for saving us," Sailor Mars said.

"Yeah. Turns out we didn't even need Tuxedo Mask. We had you," Sailor Jupiter said.

Sailor Moon bit her lip, the hero hadn't come to save them. And he was still holding onto two rainbow crystals. Did that mean he really was working with the negaverse?

———————————————————————

"So you're Sailor Moon then huh?" Yang asked as the girls were all hanging out later.

"Yeah," Ruby said with a smile, "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you."

"It's ok. Now I see why you always were hanging out with these guys."

"Well now you're one of us," Nora said smirking.

Ruby hugged her big sister, "yeah my sister! The awesome Sailor Venus!"

Yang ruffled her hair affectionately.

"So Yang we've been looking for the moon princess," Blake said, "are you her?"

Yang thought for a moment, "moon princess...I don't think so. But hey who knows."

Zwei smiled as he watched the five girls, "they're reunited at last. It's amazing."
