Chapter 5

"Dante?"

The house was quiet and Dante was no where in sight. I became worried and checked everywhere, but I just couldn't find him. I slouched down on the couch, tears began falling from my eyes. "What will I do without him?" I thought out loud.

My thoughts were then interrupted by a loud crash coming from the front door. I jumped up and turned around, only to come face to face with a group of men.. they looked familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

My eyes narrowed. "Who are you and why are you invading my home!?" I ordered. The man at the front chuckled. "Calm down" Was what he said. I was about to protest when a wall of flame appeared between us. My eyes widened in fear. "Dante!" I shouted without myself knowing.

The flames kept growing and groaning. I noticed the men before me begin to melt. I screamed and was engulfed myself within a matter of second.

"AHHHH!!!" My eyes snapped open and I instantly looked around at my surroundings. I wasn't in my room, nor anywhere I knew. Then I remembered something. "Dante!"

A door to the room I was in swung open, revealing a pissed off Sasuke. I jumped up, but didn't notice anything wrong with my legs, so they caved in and I fell to the floor. "Urgh!" "Don't move" He ordered and came over to me.

I rolled my eyes and got back up. "Where am I?" I demanded an answer. He smirked "My house" "And why am I here? Where is Dante? If you did anything to him, I swear to god-" "Stop asking me useless questions" I glared and if looks could kill then, he'd be dead by now.

I sighed and sat on the bed. I looked myself over.

My bandages to my arms were still on.. good. My feet and part of the bottom of my legs were covered up.. "Hey. What happened to my legs?" He shrugged "They were burnt" My eyes widened. 'So.. that really did happen. It wasn't just a dream. That must mean.. Dante is-' I looked Sasuke in the eyes before standing up and putting my shoes on.

I walked over to the window and opened it, but before going, I turned to my (once again) 'savior' and bowed. "I appreciate your help. I'm leaving now. See you in 5 days" My voice was serious and my face showed no emotions. He didn't say anything, just stared me in the eyes, I couldn't tell what he was thinking and at this moment I couldn't care less.

With a short nod, I jumped and ran straight ahead, not really knowing where I was going. My legs hurt and blood was soaking through the bandages. Every now and then I'd bump into someone or trip over. But, I had to go find him, I had to save him. "Those bastards are going to pay!" I muttered darkly under my breath.

I was so sucked into my thoughts, that I didn't noticed the people in front of me and just bumped into them. I fell to the floor and landed on my back with a 'thud!' I groaned. "Great! Now my backs hurting as well" I shouted out in frustration.

Someone giggled from in front of me. As I stood back up shakily, I came face to face with three kids. I smirked inwardly as I already knew who they were. TenTen, Lee and Neji. Their sensei: Might Guy. Finally, I've always wanted to meet Lee and Neji, TenTen also seems nice.

Coming back from my thoughts, I bowed politely "I'm sorry. I was in a hurry and didn't watch were I was going" TenTen smiled gently "It's fine. Right guys" They nodded. I noticed Lee grinning widely. I tilted my head in fake confusion, I could tell what was going on through that innocent head of his. "Whats your name? I'm TenTen, the one in green is Lee and the one with the cold exterior is Neji" "...Alexis..."

I bowed and started to walk again, but my legs caved in. 'I should heal them' I thought. "Whats wrong?" TenTen came and knelt before me, a concerned look on her face. Neji came down and grabbed one of my legs, it stung and I winced before snatching it out of his grasp.

"What happened to your legs?" Lee asked out of nowhere. I shrugged "Someone burnt my house down while I was inside and It probably happened when I tried to escape" The raised their eyebrows at me, before Lee out of nowhere started crying. "The power of youth must be with you" He came over and took my hands in his "Tell me who did it!" I sighed "I don't know.."

I could only think of a few people who might do that. Does anyone have a grudge against me? I thought about before the answer came to me.. I glared into nowhere before standing up, although shakily.

I looked at Neji "I need a favor" He rose an eyebrow and waited for me to continue "I lost a friend when the fire happened and I can't find him. Can you... use your byakugan and help search?" I could find him myself, but It's easier with someone who has the byakugan. "How do you know I have it?" I shrugged "Your eyes" He narrowed his eyes at my suspiciously and was about to answer when TenTen interrupted.

"Of course he will. Won't you Neji!" Neji sighed but nodded "We'll help as well. With the power of youth, we're unstoppable" I chuckled inwardly. Lee brings out the best of people. TenTen smiled and put an arm around my shoulder to help me walk. "So, who is this friend to you?" I could hear the mischivious smirk in her voice.

"My best friend"

I began running in the direction that I can feel Dante in. It's not a strong feeling. I looked over to Neji "I can feel him.. but only slightly. Can you search north-west?" He nodded and said "Byakugan!" The weird vein lines appeared next to his eyes and he began searching.

A few minuted passed before we stopped. "Did you find anything?" He nodded "Around a mile away there's a cave. A group of people are there and I could see something else.." I nodded 'Probably Dante'

I gave them a bow. "Thank you for the help. I'll go by myself now" Just as I was about to jump away through the trees, someone gripped onto my arm, stopping me from doing so. I glanced over my shoulder. TenTen stared me in the eyes, determined about something "We won't leave you now. Your hurt and you asked for our help, so we're going to come" "YEH!" Lee fist pumped and Neji.. he just pinched the bridge of his nose before nodding in agreement.

I looked over each of them and bowed, face still expresionless "Thank you"

I narrowed my eyes from my position behind a tree.

We had just arrived and hid ourselved from the group of thugs. I peeked at each of them until I came across a familiar face. A smirk made it's way onto my own. 'So, it is him. He wants revenge for what Sasuke did.. but why attack me for it' I sighed in annoyance.

I kept searching until I noticed Dante. My eyes widened in shock and horror. He was tied to a tree stump and a kunai was sticking out from where his heart is. Blood surrounded his body. Inside my mind, I was having a mini panick attack. Dante.. what if he's..

"He's not dead... yet" A voice said from behind. I jumped from being startled before turning around and getting into a defencive position. I narrowed my eyes before hanging my head. "What the hell are you doing here Madara!?" I demanded the answer. He normally never shows himself. He keeps hidden until when Sasori dies and at the moment he's just a stupid assisstant for the Akatsuki.. that's why he doesn't have one of those cloaks.

He chuckled in his normal deep voice. It's completely different from his tobi voice, it gives ya bad vibes I tell you that. When he stopped he just stared at me. Well, I think he was but couldn't tell due to the mask. I sighed "Take off the mask" "Why?" "Because you look like a frickin pumpkin and it's freaking me out"

He began laughing but didn't do what I said. From behind I could hear Neji and his team already fighting. I groaned. "I have to go save Dante, so can you.. ya know... leave?" 'Tobi' shook his head - no "Not yet. We need to talk Alexis" My eyes narrowed "How do you know my-" I stopped and thought "Actually I don't want to know. You probably stalked me or something and that's just creepy"

He sighed and walked forward. I took a step back for every step he took closer. "Why are you hiding your eyes?" "I don't know what your talking about" "Don't make this hard Alexis. Show me your real eyes" I glared "What if I don't?" "Then i'll force you"

That got me. I burst out into fits of laughter. "Hahahah! Oh my.. hahah!.. god!" "What?" He sounded angry, but it didn't scare me one bit. I finally stopped laughing, but still giggled slightly "You.. think you can beat me in a fight don't you? That's hilarious. Compared to me.. your as powerful as a fly"

I was so caught up in the hilarious moment that I didn't notice him lunge at me. In a matter of seconds, I was held against the tree, being strangled. "What were you saying?" I could practically hear the smirk in his voice. I glared "..That your.. week" His grip tightened. "Now, now, your in no poisiton to talk. Now show me your eyes!" He ordered.

I growled at the back of my throat, but then smirked as an idea came to mind. I can kill Madara Uchiha right here and now. Slowly, I lifted my hand and gribbed his arm, making sure to hold the part where there was open skin. His eyes widened by what I said next "Tatchi o setto"  but before it could even happen Madara jumped back.

"That.. Jutsu. How do you know it" .. "It's one of my Kekkei Genkai's" I scolded myself mentally for saying 'one of my' All of a sudden, he started chuckling.. in an evil way. "Alexis.. you are a mystery. I saw how you ended up in the forest. It was as though you came from a different world" He paused "I want you to join us. The Akatsuki could use someone like you"

I thought about it before smiling. I actually smiled  "I've always wanted to meet those guys.. Maybe.. after the chunin exams" He came closer as I spoke again "But, you'd have to kill me in the end. I don't want that" "Why would we kill you?" I walked over, leaned towards his ear and whispered "Because, I have something that you need for your plan to succeed"

With one wink, I jumped back. "Dante calls. I'll see you soon Madara Uchiha" That was the last thing I said before reappearing next to my most favourite person in the whole world.

(Madara's POV)

Alexis leaned closer "Because, I have something that you need fo your plan to succeed" I narrowed my eyes. 'She has something I need?'.
She jumped back and gave me a lazy wink "Dante calls, I'll see you soon Madara Uchiha" With that said, she disappeared into thin air, leaving behind a small puff of smoke.

My thoughts centered around Alexis. That morning when she appeared, her eyes.. that Kekkei Genkai. It all seemed familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I sighed. 'At least she wants to join, she seemed excited. I should go back and talk about this to Pein'

Within a second, I appeared inside his office. Pein jumped, startled of my sudden appearence. I smirked under my mask. "Madara.. What are you doing back all of a sudden. I thought you went to find someone" I nodded and took off my mask.

Sitting in one of the chairs in front of the large rectangular desk, I propped my legs up. "I found this gril-" "A girl? That's who you went to find?" I glared, to which he coward "I apologies, carry on"

I continued "She's strong. I don't yet know her rank but, she definitely stong. I've invited her to join us Akatsuki" Pein looked shocked "If this is your decision, then i'll go along with it. If you wish so, I can send one of the others to check up on her strength" I nodded "Her name is Alexis, no surname that I no of so far. Age: 13-14. She had black long hair, blue eyes and has many coloured flower tattoos on the right side of her face. If they still can't find her.. she's always around a large dark wolf who she calls Dante"

Pein leant back in his chair with a thinking face. "You can find her in Konoha" He nodded his head. "Will she join?" "I believe so. She seemed eager to meet everyone, for reasons unknownst to me" "Hmm.. you seem very interested in her. Why's that?" I ignored his comment. "I'll go and inform the others about her soon to be arrival. Make preperations" He sighed "Alright"

I placed my mask back over my face before walking out of his office.

The base was mostly quiet. Is what I thought until I came up towards the living room. "What the Fuck deidara! Why the fuck did you try and fucking blow me up!" They're always the same.

I cleared my throat and bounced my way there "~Deidara-sempai. What'd you do now~" I 'chirped'. "Urgh! Go away Tobi. Your not even in the Akatsuki yet, so why're you still here?" He questioned. I jumped around and through my arms in the air "~Because Tobi's a good boy~"

"~Oh yeah! I have a message from Leader-sama~" They all stopped what they were doing. Kisama and Kakuzu were playing cards. Itachi and Sasori were sitting on the couch relaxing and Hidan and Deidara were fighting like they normally would. Zetsu was probably here somewhere as well. I had no clue as to where konan is.

"Well? Are you going to fucking to us or what?" Hidan swore, taking steps towards me. I jumped away from him and laughed "~He says we're going to get a new member soon. I wonder if she's pretty. Ooh! I can't wait to meet her~" Everyone fell silent. "A new member? and a girl?" Kisama wondered everyones thoughts out loud. "~Uhuh, and she's really young. I'm excited, aren't you Deidara-sempai~" I asked and jumped on him.

"Like hell I am. Now get off Tobi before I blow you up" I laughed and jumped away again "~I don't want to get blown up, not again. Your mean Deidara-sempai. Tobi's a good boy~"

I laughed some more "~Anyways, ask Leader-sama for the information. Tobi's tired and wants to rest now~" I then hopped out of the living room and let them wonder through their thoughts.

I smirked 'I can't wait'..

(Alexis' POV)

"Oh Dante. I'm sorry I couldn't come for you sooner" Dante was laying unconsious on the ground. Neji and the others had just finished beating those guys up and had lied them to a tree.

TenTen came up to me "So.. this is Dante?" I nodded and began to heal his wounds. If I hurry now, he won't die and will be better by the chunin exams, there's no doubt about it. "He's.. a wolf" Neji stated. I glared at him "Yeh, so?" He just shrugged "No reason. Just didn't think we'd be helping you find some wolf"

I rolled my eyes and was about to say something back when Dante awakened "A-Alexis" I hugged him softly. "It's ok Dante. I'm here now" "A-are you.. ok? Did.. they hurt.. you?" He asked in between breaths. I shook my head "No, i'm fine. Your worse off then I am at the moment, do don't worry about me"

He chuckled "I'm sorry.. I should have... seen them coming" I sighed "Don't blame yourself. It isn't you fault. Now rest! You want to get better before the chunin exams don't you?" He nodded "Thank you Alexis" "No problem"

He then fell asleep instantly. I picked him up and turned to the others; they were all wearing shocked expressions, even Neji. I tilted my head in confusion "What?" "You can talk to him?" I nodded "Yeh, always have been able to talk to any kind of animals" Lee smiled "That is.. soo awesome. I wish I could talk to animals as well" I smiled slightly at his enthusiasm

I bowed In resptect "Thank you for the help. I really do appreciate it" TenTen grinned, but it then turned into a frown "Where are you going to stay?" I shrugged "I'll go find a nice tree for us to sleep in" "That's not good" She put on a thinking face. "Neji, why don't you let her stay at yours? You have enough room"

His eyes widened before he glared "The head of our house might not allow that" I rolled my eyes "It's fine TenTen, really" "No!" That startled me "Neji! Just take her home and ask for permission. I'm sure he's let her"

It was silent for a while, until Neji sighed and finally agreed. I didn't really think it was that much of a deal. We, Dante and I, always used to sleep in the forest or an alleyway. Why was TenTen so concerned about someone she just met?

We said our goodbyes and I followed Neji to his clans compound.

"Neji. Who's this?"

I chuckled inwardly. This man is really intimidating. I stepped forward and bowed "It's a pleasure to meet you Hiashi-sama" He glanced me in the eyes. "My name's Alexis and this is Dante" After having a look at Dante, he nodded and turned back to Neji with a stern look.

"Her house was burnt down by a group of thugs and she has no place to stay" I sighed "I told you. I can just sleep outside. I'm used to it" Neji ignored me, but Hiashi looked my way with a raised eyebrow. "Your wolf is injured, I'm sure it'd be dangerous for him if you slept outside" Neji stated simply, voice as cold as it always is.

"So, your asking if she can stay with us?" Neji nodded after a second, gaze on the ground. Hiashi sighed. "Alright. Until you find somewhere else to stay. Is that ok Alexis?" I looked at them both for a second and wanted to refuse, but it was such a good offer.

I nodded after a moment of thinking. Bowing I said "I am forever in your debt Hiashi-sama" He chuckled and lead me inside, Neji following right behind us.

I gave Dante a look and kissed his head "Get better fast"

A/N Hmm.. I don't know if I portraid Madara's character right but.. meh :P and.. like I told you, Dante is ok (kinda) haha
