Chapter 3

(Third Persons POV)

"Alright, it is time we choose our candidates for the chunin examinations" The hokage stated with a puff of his pipe. Standing before him were many jonin and chunin. "To begin, will those in charge of the rookie genin step forward" Three stange looking jonin took few steps towards the Hokage. One was a man who has silver hair, which defies gravity, a mask covering up from the brige of his nose downwards and his leaf headband covering up his left eye.

The other man looked sort of like a gorilla. He had dark hair which was spiked up, sideburns, a beared and a cigarette hanging from his mouth. Lastly, was the only female. Her hair was brown and she had red eyes. What the female was wearing would catch anyones eyes at first sight.

"Kakashi, Kurenai, Asuma. What do you say? Are there any genin, despite their inexperience, who you want to reccommend? Kakashi, you may begin" The man with silver hair put his index and middle finger towards his mouth. "I lead squad 7. Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruna, Naruto Uzumaki. I Kakashi Hatake, recommend all three for the chunin exams"

The woman was next to speak up. Doing the same sign with her hands a Kakashi she began "I lead squad 8. Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Abarame. I Kurenai Yuhi recommend all three" Lastly was the gorilla man "And my squad is number 10. Ino Yamanaka, Choji Akamichi, Shikamaru Nara. And now I Asuma Sarutobi, recommend all three"

Mindless chatter and murmers surrounded the three jonin. Iruka was the one to step forward and protest. In his opinion, the children were far to young and inexperienced to enter such harsh exams. There were chances of death at hand and he did not want them to waste their lives at such a young age. Kakashi protested saying that they weren't his students anymore, that they are his. An uncomfortable silence fell upon the room.

Finally, the Hokage spoke up, agreeing to a special preliminary test. Just as he was about to explain this test the wall to the room was knocked down. Pieces of the wall flew at each jonin, to which they all with great skill dodged. Ibiki and some others jumped in front of the Hokage, thinking this is an invasion.

The dust cloud had no yet disappeared when a young girls voice could be made out. She coughed a few times before flat out laughing. A growl was then heard, which shut the girl up instantly. She gave out a sigh "Sorry Dante. You know how I get when i'm in my thoughts so, techniquely it's not my fault that I could't stop in time. You could have at least warned me about it though" Another growl filled the room before the girl chuckled.

Alexis looked around as the puff of smoke finally cleared. Her eyes widened at the sight before her. Many jonin were in defencive positions surrounding the Hokage and the wall she had previously broken through was blown everywhere. Standing up, Alexis wiped away all the dirt from her clothes and bowed.

The hokage almost laughed at this. He examined the girl to be around 13-14. She had long black hair all the way down to her knees which, after that crazy landing was messy and tangled. She was wearing below the knee black pants, normal black ninja shoes, a red shirt which stopped just below her ribs and knetting underneath to cover up her stomach.

She wore black gloves that went up to her elbows with a red metal plate above her knuckles. The rest of her arms were covered in bandages as though she had something to hide. Then there were her eyes, they were icy-cold blue which, even though she had previously laughed like that, were emotionless. He felt as though they weren't real, as though they were an illusion. Squinting, he noticed many different coloured flowers tattood around the right side of her face.

The girl bowed before standing back up straight. A large wolf with two different coloured eyes stepped besides her, almost as though guarding her. Placing her hand on the wolfs head, Alexis looked the Hokage in the eyes. "Hokage-sama.. I apologise for breaking the wall like that. But, It's a pleasure to finally meet you" The hokage rose an eyebrow in wonder. 'To finally.. meet me?' He wondered about those words.

Giving a smile, wrinkles forming around his mouth, he finally spoke. "Ibiki, you and the others can stand down. It is obvious she is not here to harm anyone" With a glare, Ibiki reluctantly backed away, the others following suit. Glancing the girl in the eyes he asked "What is you name child?" Nodding, she responded "Alexis. This guy here is Dante. I'm sorry for him baring his teeth at you, he's just.. over protective when it comes to me. Dante!" Alexis gave him a 'say your sorry' look. Rolling his eyes, Dante bowed his head in apologies. The Hokage chuckled, as did the three jonin sensei's.

"What brings you here Alexis? I'm sure you didn't just come to crash my wall down" She shook her head, still no smile appearing "I am here to ask for permission to join the chunin exam" "Hmm? Are you not here with a team? Where's your sensei" Narrowing her eyes at all the questions, Alexis sighed "I have no team, nor sensei" "May I ask where you come from Alexis, maybe I can find you a team from your village" She shook her head and sighed "You don't need to know where I come from. Plus, Dante and only Dante can be my partner" Hokage glanced at the wolf.

Kakashi, being curious, strode towards Dante. Alexis having noticed this turned to face him. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. He bites" "How come he's fine with you?" Something crossed through Alexis' eyes, Kakashi saw this and frowned not knowing what it was. Sighing she tickled Dante behind the ears "Because.. he trusts me" "What if he comes to trust me?" He continued on. She glared "He won't. We will only ever trust and love each other. So don't come any closer" Dante growled in agreement. "I don't like this one Alexis" He stated warily.

The hokage saw the pain in Alexis eyes, he was suprised at her word. 'She won't ever trust or love anyone but her wolf?' He thought this was strange. "Alexis. Why is it that you want to join the chunin exam" "..Do I need a reason?" He chuckled "No, not at all. How about this. If you show me you can fend for yourself, I'll agree to you and Dante entering the exam" Everyone in the room was shocked at their Hokages words. They neither knew the young girl nor did they think she could take such dangerous exams alone.

(Alexis' POV)

I glanced down at Dante. "How about it? You wanna?" He nodded "If it's a fight they want, then we'll definitely pass. I can't wait, the chunin exams sound like so much fun" "Yeh and i'll finally get to meet Oro-chan" Slapping a hand over my mouth, I turned to the jonin and chunin in the room. They all had raised eyebrows. "What.. did it say?" "IT? I'm no it!" Dante bared his teeth at the silver haired man. "Calm down Dante. He probably didn't mean it" Sitting down he nuzzled my side.. ticklish.

I couldn't hold it in, I started giggling, which turned to laughing. "D-Dante! Stop.. it. Now's not the time for games" With a huff he stopped, to my relief. I didn't like people seeing my playfull side. Putting back on an emotionless mask I looked to Kakashi, the closet perv of the show "Sorry about that. He just doesn't like being called an 'It'. Anyway, he says if it's a fight, it sounds like fun and that he can't wait for the chunin exams"

The hokage chuckled "It's just simple things. Not fight unfortunatly" Sighing sadly, I nodded "First, create 2 clone, then do the transformation Jutsu, then.. one of your own special Jutsu's" 'Sounds easy enough' First I created the two clones, they were solid though and then I transformed the two clones into someone else. "Was that ok?" He looked shocked at first, before nodding in affirmative "I have a special technique.. but I don't know if it's safe to use.." "It's fine. Go ahead" Dante chuckled darkly, knowing all too well what I was going to use.

"Then if you would. Please stand back" Placing my hands opposite each other, I whispered "Chibaku Tensei" not letting them hear it. Inside my hands formed a dark sphere of gravity. I threw it towards the sealing and as soon as I did so, It started attracting all of the broken pieces of wall. I made it so that it wouldn't attract anything else, otherwise we'd all be dead.

A short while later, a small sphere of rock was floating abover us. The hokages eyes widened and he hastilly looked back over to me. With a snap of my fingers, the sphere fell apart and crashed to the ground. I smiled fakely at him before saying. "Can I join the chunin exams now?"

"T-that technique" I tilted my head to the side innocently "What technique?" After a moment of what looked like he was in thought, he chuckled. "Alright. You may join the Chunin Exams. But first, I would like to talk to you in private"

Dante nudged me "He's going to question who you are Alexis. Refuse him" I leaned down and whispered "But, what if he won't let me take the exams unless I tell him everything" He growled "Then, it's your choice. Just don't regret anything you tell him" I nodded and turned to face the hokage "I'm ok with that"

Standing up, he walked over to me and went to place a hand on my shoulder. However, before he could, I moved out the way. He was going to touch my right shoulder.. that wouldn't be any good. "Sorry, I don't like being touched. Just lead the way" Nodding, he gestured for me to walk ahead.

"Kakashi, come with us please" My eyes widened "You want him to come as well?" The hokage nodded "After all, I am going to place you on his team" I growled under my breath "I told you already. The only person I will allow myself to be teamed up with is Dante, no one else" "It doesn't matter. I can't allow yo to take the exams alone. So, it's them or nothing" Glancing at Kakashi, I narrowed my eyes.

I took steps forward until I was right in front of him, but my head only reached his chest due to how short I am. Glaring, I ordered "Take the mask off" "I can't do that" "Take it off. If I'm going to be on your team, I want to see your face, at least once" Kakashi gave a side glance to the Hokage, who nodded with a mischivious grin. "*Sigh* Fine then"

He reached up and pulled down what looked to be two masks. My eyes widened in shock and suprise in one. Dante howled from besides me. "Wow.. Nice looks you got there. Lucky guy" I let out a slight smirk as he put it back on. "At least you didn't faint" I swore I heard him mumble that under his breath as we walked out towards a different room.

I sat on a chair opposite a sofa, which held the Hokage and Kakashi. We were having a three-way staring contest and so far, I was winning. "So.." I started. The hokage nodded. "What did you want to talk about?" "..That power you used" Rolling my eyes I got straight to it "Chibaku Tensei" He gave a slow nodd "How can you use it. There is only one person I have ever know to be able to perform that technique" I sighed and undid the genjutsu on my eyes. (A/N Picture to the side is of her eyes without the genjutsu xD)

They just sat there, staring at me agape as soon as they layed their eyes on my own. "W-what is this?" Kakashi excalimed. I shrugged "You wanted to know how I can use such powers. So, here you go" "It looks like the Rinnegan.. but.." I nodded.

"They are similar to the Rinnegan but, they are different. My Rinnegan is the ancestor of the Sharigan Dojutsu. It's more.. original, more powerfull" The hokage scratched at his chin in what seemed to be confusion. Kakashi on the other hand, kept staring at me. With a sigh, I cast the genjutsu back up again.

"Were you born with them?" I nodded "That's correct. They were passed down from my father" "What is he called and where is he now?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that. I can't leak to much imformation, who knows if anyones listening in"

Standing up, I bowed. "Thank you for letting me partake in the chunin exams, but I promised Dante that we could relax in the sun for a while, so I must leave" The hokage stood as well and gave me a nod "Here are some keys, the adress is attached to the back. You can live here for however long you see fit"

"Thank you Hokage-sama" Just as I was about to leave he spoke again "Meet at the brigde in the center of town tomorrow at 10. There, you will meet your new team" I scoffed at the word. "Who need a team" I muttered under my breath, thankfully they didn't hear me.

With a wave, I walked away and out of the building, Dante following right beside me. "They seemed shocked to say in the least" He suddenly spoke, breaking the comfortable silence. I nodded "Well, there are only two people in the world that have the Rinnegan (Exclusing Madara) so, I can see why they would be" He chuckled and began jogging. "Hurry up Alexis! I want to Relax under the sun"

I laughed and sprinted after him. Not only a few minutes later did we come across the hill Shikamaru favors so. He flopped down on his back, panting from running so fast without a rest. "Hey Dante.. do you think we'll be happy here?" I asked as I sat besides him, petting his stomach like he's a dog. "I.. don't know. But, if you really want to be happy then you'll make sure of it youself that it'll happen. Do you personally want to be happy Alexis?"

I pondered on the thought before coming to a conclusion. 

"If your here with me, then I'll always be happy" He grinned a wolfy grin and nudged me in the side. I giggled slightly and lay next to him. "It's comfortable here" "That's right. It's completely different to back 'home'. No fighting every corner you turn, a place to sleep without having to keep one eye open.. it's so.." He trailed off, probably not able to find the correct word. So, I decided to fill it for him 

"Peacefull. It's peacefull Dante. A word you aren't used to, nor am I" Glancing to the side, I noticed him asleep, tail wrapped around one of my legs. I chuckled at the sight. "Sweet dreams Dante. I love you"
