The lunch

I looked at him and he was looking straight ahead of him with a blank look on his face. Well, perhaps he's being polite.

I didn't dare say a word, afraid that he might snap at me once again. "Let's go." He said and started walking towards the building, with his hand still on my waist.

One we were inside the building, we were welcomed by an old man. He seemed to be in his late fifties but looked perfectly fit for his age.

"Sebastian." He greeted Mr. Salvestro by shaking his hands with him. "How are you?" He asked.

"Fine." Mr. Salvestro curtly replied.

"And who is this beautiful lady by your side?" His eyes drifted to me but lingered a little longer.

"My personal assistant." Mr. Salvestro answered for me. I noticed his jaw clench.

"Okay, well, let's get started." He clapped his hands together, while walking to the other side of the room. "However, we'll have to do this on our own. Antonio is not here." He explained.

"Whatever." I heard Mr. Salvestro mumble under his breath. He was not a big fan of Mr. DeLucas Junior I guess.

Both of the men started the meeting and all I did was take notes. After two excruciating hours of discussion, they finally came to an agreement. From what I could understand was that Mr. Salvestro managed to crack the deal.

"It was nice to deal with you, Mr. DeLucas." Mr. Salvestro put his hand forward to shake his hand.

"Same here, son." Mr. DeLucas smiled. "It was also nice to meet you, Miss Wilson. Antonio was speaking highly of you." He said, making my eyes widen.

"Thank you, Sir." I replied, not knowing what to say more. Mr. DeLucas walked out of the room and we followed him. Mr. Salvestro's hand snaked around my waist once again and when I looked at him, he seemed furious. I think this guy is bipolar.

We left the building and entered the car. What happened next really made me want to crawl in a corner and never come back.

Once we entered the car, my stomach grumbled so loudly the even the driver looked at me through the rear mirror.

"I'm sorry." My face reddened like a tomato.

"Did you eat this morning?" Mr. Salvestro asked authoritatively.

"Um, no." I replied, fidgeting with my fingers.

"Nothing? Not even a cup of tea?" He sounded angry right now. I shook my head at him. He sighed heavily. "Evan, take us to La Perla." Mr. Salvestro ordered to the drivers whose name is Evan. Evan nodded and took a different direction. "It's a restaurant." Mr. Salvestro said, sensing my thoughts. "We need to get some food in that belly of yours before it starts roaring." For the first time, I saw a different expression on his face other than anger and blank stares. He was smirking at me. I blushed ten times more.

Fifteen minutes later, we reached a luxurious restaurant. I seemed really out of place right now. Why did he have to come here?! A sandwich would be just fine. When we entered the restaurant, I was hit with a delicious smell of food making my stomach grumble louder. I had to place a hand on my belly to lessen the sounds.

I noticed most women were openly staring at him while he paid no attention to him. He seemed quite oblivious or he was really used to this.

We walked towards a more secluded area whereby there were very few people. We sat down and an elderly waitress came by our table.

"Hello, Mr. Salvestro. What would you like to have?" She politely asked. What really stunned me was that she was really professional and did not even flirt with him.

"I'll have a chicken parmesan and a glass of chardonnay." Mr. Salvestro ordered without taking a look at the menu.

"What about you, Miss?" She asked me.

"I'll have the same except no wine."

She nodded and left us in complete silence.

"You don't drink?" Mr. Salvestro broke the ice. I can't believe he is talking to me. Like really talking. For once he isn't snapping.

"No." I replied.

A little while later, the food was brought to us. If I didn't have my mouth shut, I would have drooled by now. It seemed to mouthwatering.

Once the waiteress placed my plate in front of me, I didn't lose one second and started to dug in. I even moaned when I had the first bite of the chicken.

"This is so good." I closed my eyes and savoured the delicious taste of the chicken. I opened my eyes and saw Mr. Salvestro intensely gazing at me. He was eating his food very elegantly while I looked like a girl who had been starved for days.

Mr. Salvestro placed his finger near the corner of his mouth and tapped on it.

"What?" I asked confusedly.

"There's a piece of chicken stuck there." He explained.

I took out my tongue and tried to lick it away. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed Mr. Salvestro shaking his head. He took the napkin and slightly rose from his seat and moved his hand forward and wiped the piece of chicken from my mouth making my breath hitch for a second.

"You're such a kid," He mumbled, staring intently at me.

"I'm sorry." I whispered. I kept staring in his beautiful orbs. If I kept staring, I would probably lose myself in those eyes. I immediately broke contact with him and he went back to his seat and I resumed eating.

A few minutes later, we were both done with our food and Mr. Salvestro called up the waitress.

"Put this on my bill." He said and got up from his seat.

"Um, Mr. Salvestro, how much did it cost?" I asked nervously.

"It was on me, don't worry." He brushed me off.

"It must have costed a little bit, please tell me. I would feel better if I paid half." I explained.

"No need to, Miss Wilson and this is an order. Now let's go." He snapped.

And he's back to his same old self.
