Mr. Arrogant

I couldn't sleep at all last. All I did was toss and turn as if I was a coin. My mind was stuck on what would happen today.

I nervously put on my pair of jeans and wore my white t-shirt. It was already eight and I had to reach there at nine. I quickly got out, locked the door and made my way to Salvestro Corporation. I took the cab during the entire ride all I could think was what will happen.

Unfortunately, the ride was short and in a matter of minutes I reached there. I took a deep breath and entered the sophisticated office. I walked towards the reception and a blonde lady looked up at me, faking a smile.

"Um, hello," I waved at her nervously, "I was asked to come here today." I told her putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Of course, you're Miss Wilson," She beamed at me which I personally think was way too artificial. I think they are trained how to be pretentious here. "Please go to the top floor." She told make, gesturing towards the elevator.

I nodded at her and made my way towards the elevator and pressed number twenty eight. Woah, this was a huge building.

After having waited for what seemed an eternity, the elevator arrived and I got inside. Thank God, it was empty. I hate elevators full of people.

After a while, I reached my destination and got out of the elevator. I remember, Mr. Salvestro had interviewed me in another office yesterday in another floor. I noticed there was another receptionist on this floor. When she saw me, smiled at me. A genuine smile. She seemed to have the same age as me or perhaps a few years older. With her pencil skirt, her fitted white shirt and impeccable chignon and make up, she looked absolutely flawless. What is it with everyone looking gorgeous here?

"Hi, you must be Miss Wilson," She said in a warm voice. I nodded at her. "Hi, I'm Mia, Mr. Salvestro's receptionist."

"Hi, Mia," I said shyly. She chuckled at me.

"Hey, there's no need to be nervous." Mia said soothingly. "You go inside Mr. Salvestro's office. He'll come shortly." I nodded at her and made my way to the office. I didn't bother to knock since there was no one inside.

My mouth literally was left opened at the sight in front of me. This was not an office. It seemed like it was an art gallery. Behind Mr. Salvestro's office chair were three canvasses, all breathtaking. If I thought the office in which I was in yesterday was sophisticated, this was ten or twenty times more classy and elegant. Thousands of dollars must have spent in the decoration of this office.

On either side of his desk was a leather couch. It seemed so comfortable compared to my second hand couch back home.

"Like it, Miss Wilson?" I jumped at the sound of the voice. I turned towards the voice and saw Mr. Salvestro looking amusingly at me.

"Yeah, it's very nice." I complimented him shyly.

"Please take a seat, Miss Wilson." Mr. Salvestro ordered walking to the other side of the desk and took a seat in the long chair. "Do you know why you're here, Miss Wilson?" Mr. Salvestro asked once I was seated.

"Um, because you're mad at me?" My answer seemed more like a question to me. Mr. Salvestro looked blankly at me before chuckling.

"No, I'm not mad at you." He said, making me surprised.

"But—" He didn't let me go on with my question.

"You're here because you've got the job." He stated. What?!

I looked at him with wide eyes. "Wh-what?" I stuttered.

"Yes. You passed the test." He said. I couldn't understand a word he was saying even if it was in English.

"I-I don't understand, Mr. Salvestro. Which test?" I asked confusedly.

"Do you recall the question that I'd asked you yesterday?" I nodded. "It was a test to see if you were interested to work here as an employee or you were here just to have an opportunity to be close to my son." Mr. Salvestro clarified. Oh. "See, many girls and women try hard to get the attention of my son. I didn't want someone unprofessional here. Your answer was completely professional and now I'm fully convinced that I didn't make a wrong choice by selecting you as my son's personal assistant."

"Oh." Was all I could say. "So, I won't be working with you?" I asked hesitantly.

"No, Miss Wilson. As from tomorrow, my son, Sebastian will be taking over. He arrived yesterday from Italy." I nodded. "I want you here tomorrow at eight. I will introduce him to you."

"Okay, Sir. Thank you for the job." I was nearly to tears. I can't believe I got this job.

"No, thank you for showing interest in the job and not my son." Mr. Salvestro honestly said. "Oh and apologize if ever I made you uncomfortable yesterday."

"No, it's fine. You were just doing your job." I replied truthfully. Now that he has explained me the entire situation, I'm no more upset. "I'll take your leave." Got up from my seat and walked out of the office.

Once I was outside, I breathed a huge sigh of relief. I can't believe this. Finally, I can see my life getting better.

"You're smiling like a Cheshire cat, this must mean good news," Mia said making me snap of my thoughts.

I was not aware that I was smiling widely until she told me. "I got the job." I told her. Mia started squealing making me surprised.

"Oh, that's great. We can go to lunch together. I mean you seem the kind of girl who is actually nice and not fake like the others." She said happily. This girl is so full of energy.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." I waved at her.

"Oh and wait," She urgently said, making me come to a stop. I turned towards her. She came really close to me as if she wanted to tell me a secret. "Have you seen your boss?" I shook my head at her. I'd only met Mr. Salvestro. "Well, prepare yourself, he's very sexy." She whispered lowly making me smile at her. Well, my boss being sexy or not won't make any difference to me. I'm here just to work.

"Okay, thanks for, um, warning me, I guess." I replied chuckling. "See you tomorrow, Mia."

"See, ya." Mia waved enthusiastically. I walked towards the door and got out. Once I reached the elevator, I pressed the button, G and waited for it come.

Once the elevator arrived, I got in and made my way downstairs. After a while, I reached the ground floor and walked towards the entrance door.

I was really looking forward to tomorrow. I can't believe that after so long, I'll be having a job. Like a real job, where someone will acknowledge my worth.

I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn't notice where I was going and bumped into someone and a hot liquid which I'm guessing is coffee spilled on my shirt making me wince.

"Ah, shit," I swore under my breath. I looked at the culprit ready to rebuke him and tell to look where he or she is going but all my anger suddenly disappeared when I took note of the Greek God in front of me. To me, he was the most handsome man I had ever encountered in my entire twenty years old. He was very tall, perhaps 6'2 and seemed very well built. With that perfectly tailored suit, he looked absolutely good looking. My mouth were opened like a gold fish. I couldn't say anything or do anything. All I could do was stare at those gorgeous honey orbs which to my surprise were looking back at me with coldness.

"Can't you see where you're going?" Were the first words that came out of his beautiful mouth. His English was way better than mine and what was more enticing was that faint Italian accent that could be heard. His stare held my gaze, preventing me from blinking. "So you're mute as well?" He harshly said, gritting his teeth.

This seemed to snap me out of my reverie. He made a mistake and he is being rude at me!

"Excuse me?" I finally said, getting hold of myself. "You spilled your burning coffee on me. You should apologize." I angrily said, clearly annoyed at his rudeness and arrogance.

Mr. Arrogant Ass seemed quite irritated with my response because his beautiful face morphed into a deeper scowl.

"Do you have an idea to whom you're snapping right now, Miss?" He said in an angry yet controlled voice. He was looking at me with lots of disdain, as if I was some beggar on the streets.

"No, I have no idea." I replied cockily. "But what a shame, such a big boy like you doesn't know who he is!" I laughed humorlessly making him even more furious. If looks could kill, I think I'd already be in six feet under.

"I could ruin you, for talking to me like that." Mr. Arrogant Ass replied icily. I just looked at him with a bored expression.

"Whatever suits your boat, Mr. I-Have-No-Idea-Who-I-Am." I said indignantly. His honey like eyes were staring dangerously at my plain dark ones, making me inwardly shiver. I can't believe how such a shockingly handsome person can be so disrespectful towards people. This man brought the worst out of me. Normally I was a very calm person but I guess him being devastatingly gorgeous and rude at the same time made me lose all my normality. "Anyways, I don't have time to waste in discussing with a grown up kid. So good bye!" I said haughtily, proud of myself making him frown harder with irritation and resentment for me.

I noticed him take a step towards me with a murderous expression on his perfect face. I wanted to take a step back but I didn't want to show him I was scared.

"You should be thankful that people are around, or else you wouldn't have liked what I would have done to you." He threatened lowly, sounding even more dangerous than he was before. His voice was huskier than usual making me gulp. His strong cinnamon cologne filled my nostrils making me want to move closer to him.

"As if I would give a damn." I replied looking straight at him. I would not give him that satisfaction. "Oh and free advice, learn some manners. It'll help you in the future. If you can't, just contact me. Many people have told me that I can tame ill-mannered and presumptuous grown-up kids like you." I sarcastically said sensing a flash of anger enter his eyes. Right now, it seemed like steam would come out of his ears any time soon. Before he could say anything, I quickly walked away from him and got out of Salvestro Corporation.

Once I was outside, I took a deep breath and exhaled. Gosh, I can't believe my encounter with such an arrogant and rude person and worst of all, I can't digest the fact that he was impossibly good looking.

I looked at my shirt and saw the coffee was now stained. This unbelievably handsome man ruined my favorite shirt.

I hope I never get to see him again!
