He was staring at me with an evil glint in his eyes. Oh my Gosh. He'll kill me or worse he'll fire me. That's it. He'll fire me. Wow, I was not even able to complete my first day and I will be fired.

"Miss Wilson, are you even listening to me?" A sharp voice snapped me from my thoughts and I noticed that Mr. Salvestro was no longer near me. He had already taken his seat.

"I'm sorry what?" I apologized, taking careful steps towards his desk. His eyes grew hard and he sighed heavily.

"Listen here, Miss Wilson. I hate repeating myself. So, if you want to be my assistant, you need to be focused." He dominatingly said. His honey orbs held mine icily in a way that made me fear him. He was a perfectly controlled and dominant kind of person. If I want to be here, I must not annoy him. "Did I make myself clear?" He asked coldly. I bobbed my head making him lean back in his seat.

"B-But, aren't you firing me?" I suddenly asked making him give me a smug look.

"No." He simply answered making me breathe a sigh of relief. "Not yet." This man loves to give me surprises. "Annoy me one more time and you'll be out." Mr. Salvestro warned.

He then picked up his phone and pressed a number and commanded the person to come in. a second later, there was a knock at our door and the person or should I say Mia came in.

"Yes, Mr. Salvestro?" She asked in a gentle and kind voice. I could sense fear in her as well. Thank goodness, I'm not the only one who is scared of him. This was not the Mia that was used to.

"Show Miss Wilson her office." He barked at her. Damn, this man was rude. No please, no thank you, nothing. And I'm going to work for him.

"Sure." Mia replied. I walked to Mia and was about to get out of his office when his voice stopped me.

"I want you back in five minutes, Miss Wilson." Mr. Salvestro commanded.

I closed the door and sighed heavily. I felt a lot of tension in that room. Thank God, I have five minutes to be awy from him.

"Isn't he hot?" Mia gushed happily. Gosh, if only she knew how he is I bet she wouldn't say that. "You're so lucky to be his personal assistant. I would give anything to be in your shoes." She dreamily said. If only she knew! "Come, I'll show you your office." She then led the way.

I noticed that my office was just beside Mr. Arrogant Ass' office. Yay me!

My office was a plain one with a desk in the middle and an office chair. It included a cupboard on the other side as well. Nothing extraordinary. I also took note of the phone on either side of the desk but there was no computer.

"You'll be given your laptop and e-mail by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow." Mia said, sensing my thoughts.

"Okay." I smiled at her.

She was about to say something but was cut off by the ring sound of the phone. I looked at her and she gestured towards the phone, signaling me to pick it up.

I nervously picked it up and heard the most annoying voice ever.

"I told you to be in my office in five minutes and it's been fifteen." Mr. Arrogant Ass' icy voice snapped at me. I inwardly winced at that.

"Uh, I'm coming, Sir." I quickly hanged up and practically ran out of my office to his. From my nervous expression, Mia judged what happened and didn't ask. She went back to her post.

I knocked the door and after he said come in, I entered. He was looking at me with a fierce expression. Oh, come on, I was only ten minutes late! No need to explode. This was what I wanted to say but I settled for my silence.

"Um, yes, Sir?" I questioned tensely.

"Go and get me some coffee." He demanded. That's it?! Some coffee! So he was shouting at me because he wanted some coffee?! It's official. I got myself the most arduous and frustrating boss ever.

"How would you like your coffee, Sir?" I asked hiding my irritation.

"Very strong with one sugar." He snapped without looking at me this time. Honestly I preferred when he was not glaring or staring at me.

I quickly got out of his office and walked to the kitchen. Thankfully, I'd asked Mia the directions or else I would have been lost.

I noticed there was another person in the kitchen drinking what I suppose might be coffee or tea. The man was quite handsome with his unruly blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a friendly look on his face making me less nervous.

"Hi, I'm Jackson." The man said, extending his hand.

"Hello, I'm AvaGrace Wilson." I shook his warm hand. He smiled at me and he even had dimples making him look cuter.

"Hi, AvaGrace. You're new here?" He asked making way so that I can walk to the coffee maker.

"Yeah, I've joined today." I said, making Mr. Arrogant Ass' coffee. Strong coffee and one sugar. I repeated in my head. "I'm Mr. Salvestro's personal assistant." I explained. Jackson's eyes widened at my response.

"So, how does it feel to work with the most ruthless person on earth?" Jackson asked, surprising me. I decided to play dumb. Perhaps this was a test. He wanted to know my views and tell that to Mr. Salvestro so that I lose my job. Sure, the was quite unlikely but I didn't want to take any risks.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged my shoulders. I inserted the coffee in a mug and took out the jar of super and put one spoon in his coffee.

"Let me warn you since you're new here." Jackson took a sip of his drink before continuing, "Mr. Salvestro is known as the merciless person here. He's rude and harsh and doesn't think twice when firing someone." Jackson said sordidly.

"How do you know that?" I asked curiously.

He seemed hesitant at first but eventually told me, "I was working with him in Italy for three years. I recently got transferred." Jackson explained. "I was also in the same college as him. So nobody knows him better than me." That's news.

I had nothing to say and simply nodded.

"I'll see you later, Ava." Jackson put his mug in the sink and made his way outside the kitchen. "Oh and best of luck for your first day." He winked at me.

I quickly took the coffee to Mr. Arrogant Ass' office and carefully put it on his table. He didn't even acknowledge my presence. Noting that he wouldn't say anything, I started to make my way outside his office.

"Miss Wilson," He called out making me turn back to him. "You leave when I ask you to leave." He said with authority. I nodded.

He looked for a paper and one he found it, he handed it to me. There were different names of what I think are names of various corporations.

"These are different companies that our corporation deals with." He explained. Thank god. "I want you to take out all those files from my cupboard and I'll explain what you need to do later." I nodded.

When I looked carefully at the paper, I noticed that there were seventy nine names meaning I had to take out seventy nine files. Holy shit!

I looked at Mr. Salvestro and saw him smirking at me. That jerk! He was doing that on purpose. "The cupboard is already opened. Just take out the files." He snapped.

I walked towards the cupboard and opened it. Thank goodness, the files were organized in alphabetical order. Losing no time, I started taking out the files. By the time I reached number thirty five, I was already out of breath because some files were on the extreme end of the cupboard while some were at the start. It was like I was jogging from left to right.

"If you're tired, you can stop for a while, Miss Wilson." I heard the mocking voice of Mr. Salvestro. He wants me to quit. He wants to prove I'm not good enough. But my name I AvaGrace Wilson and I have never learnt to quit.

"No, Sir. But I appreciate your concern." I retorted back and saw his face darken. Haa! Take that. I resumed my work and thankfully I was able to remove all the files. "I'm done, Sir." I told Mr. Salvestro, showing him all the files on his couch. He seemed very displeased perhaps because I did the job without being annoyed.

"I now want you to file all these documents in the files you've just taken out." He pointed to the stack of documents found on his desk. My eyes widened when I saw that. There were probably more than three hundred documents on his desk. "And mind it, I don't want these documents to be misplaced or put in different files. These are very important records." He warned.

I took the stack of documents and walked to my office. I returned back to his office and took the files. I had to go back and forth from my office to his since there were so many files.

Once I was done, I started filing the documents. I had to read each and every document before filing it because if the document consisted of figures, then it had to be put in the accounts sub category and if the document consisted of correspondence with other organizations then it had to be inserted in that particular sub category. Gosh this was a really tiring task.

"Hey." I looked up from my work and saw Mia smiling at me. "It's already one and I didn't see you come out for lunch so I brought you a sandwich." She said sweetly.

"Oh, thank you so much, Mia." I was really touched by her gesture. "I'm sorry. I lost track of time." I genuinely apologized.

"It's fine. Wouldn't want Mr. Sexy Beast to get mad." She winked at me making me laugh.

"Thanks once again, Mia." She nodded and went back. I ate the sandwich she gave me and boy was it delicious. This is one proper food that I'm eating after so long.

I heard my office phone ring and picked it up.

"Make me some coffee." He unkindly said and without hearing my response he hanged up.

I sighed and got up from my seat. I walked to the kitchen and quickly made his coffee. I brought it to his office and saw him snapping at someone on the phone. glad to know that everyone receives the same and equal treatment from him. I remembered he said that he didn't want me to leave unless he asks me to, so I stayed planted on my feet. He noticed this and gestured me to go.

I returned back to my desk and continued with my work.

At around five thirty I was done with the filing and brought the files back to him.

I saw him furiously typing on his laptop. I took this time to observe him. I need to admit though, I had never ever seen such an attractive man in my entire life. I noticed his hair was untamed, meaning that he had been running his hand over it several times. He seemed very engrossed in whatever he was doing. It was his first day as well as the new CEO of this company and yet he was working relentlessly.

Sensing that he would not be looking at me anytime soon, I cleared my throat to gain his attention.

"I know you're here, Miss Wilson." He said in a bored tone making me sound stupid. "Say whatever you have to say, quickly."

"Um, I'm done with the filing." I told him. He took a break from his typing to look at me intensely making me slightly awkward. He moved his hand to his lips and ran his finger over his alluring and lush lips slightly distracting me. He definitely has kissable lips. Stop!

"I see." He simply said with an expressionless look. "What do you think of your first day, Miss Wilson?" He asked, a small mocking smile on his gorgeous face. I was taken aback by this question since I didn't expect him to ask that.

"Um, it's been good." I lied. This could have been better.

"Sure?" He questioned sardonically. That jerk! He knew I was lying but I will never give him that satisfaction.

"Yes, Sir." I smiled at him. A complete fake smile.

"Well, free advice," his smile widened on his face, "if you feel you can't cope with ME, you can quit Miss Wilson." He put lots of emphasis on me. Oh. So this was his plan. He doesn't to fire me. He wants me to quit.

"Don't worry, Sir." I grinned scathingly at him, "I won't give up any time soon." The smile on his face vanished and was replaced by a dangerous frown. "May I leave, for now, Sir?" I questioned.

"Sure," He bit back. I managed to shut him up.

"Bye, Mr. Salvestro. See you, tomorrow." I turned away from him and walked out. Before I went outside, I heard him mutter a few words which I couldn't understand but I was certain they were not pleasant words.

I went into my office, took my bag and phone and took the elevator to the ground floor. I was somehow satisfied of myself that I was able to manage my first day without getting fired.
