Chapter 4

"I'm so so sorry, Louis. I didn't know anything like this would ever happen. Harry- he - gosh!" Desmond sighed as he rubbed his temples to try in vain for his headache to go away. How does one even apologise for such a thing?

"Please don't." Louis sighed. "You don't need to apologise for something you never intended to happen." He comforted the old man who looked like he had just lost everything. "Des, I thought you said that Harry wanted this marriage."

After opening and closing his mouth for a while, contemplating what to say, Desmond just sighed in defeat, "I love Harry a lot and have always wanted what's best for him. That boy.. he's lovely, I know that, but he's so stubborn and I don't know how, but he always goes against whatever we tell him. He doesn't want anything to do with our customs and traditions. And everyday, each rumour about him kept on getting worse." He wiped his dry under eye area, "When your proposal came in, I was so thankful to god, that he had shown me a way to make things right. I wanted to make Harry's future bright. I know you're the best thing for Harry. You're fit for him." Desmond looked into Louis's eyes.

The man just looked away and scoffed, "What about me? Is he right for me?" Honestly, he didn't even need the answer to this question, cause it wouldn't matter to his heart, Harry already took it.

"Louis, I'm sorry." Desmond frowned.

Louis quickly wiped away a tear that has leaked from his left eye, looking down to avoid any eye contact cause he's afraid he will burst into tears. "It's fine. You know Mr. Styles," He looked up to see Desmond completely turned  towards him cause Louis only called him that when something was really serious.

"Harry is your son. No matter what he likes or dislikes, you have to accept him. You did teach him everything, he even grew up seeing everyone around him following the traditions and yet, if he chooses not to follow them, then he's got a reason."

"His reason is so that he can become some-some degrading dancer or something, sell himself off like that."

Louis knows this isn't true, cause no matter how cool Harry thinks he acts, Louis knows how shy the boy really is. "So what?" He cut Desmond off, when the man opened his mouth to say something, "He is your son and you should accept him irrespective of the fact that it doesn't deem right for yourself."

Desmond crossed his arms in front of his chest, "So you're telling me that you're okay with your husband showing himself of to millions of people?"

"If that's what it takes to make him happy, so be it." Louis said.

"It won't bother you at all?"

"Why will my husband's happiness bother me?"

"So you're willing to put his happiness before yours?"

"My happiness is his happiness."

"Aren't you scared that he can find someone he thinks is better and leave you for him?"

"Being scared of loosing him will always be one of my biggest fears, which wouldn't have altered even if Harry didn't want to become a performer."

"So you will allow him to do all this, wear all those clothes?"

"I'm no one to tell him anything as to what he wears or does. Harry's his own person and I don't own him. It's his personal right."

"Even if the whole village threatens to go against him?"

"Well it's none of their business. And I will stay by his side through thick and thin." Louis shrugged.

With a broad smile, Harry's father patted Louis's back, "You really are the perfect match for my son."

"If only he can see that." Louis muttered.

----------

Louis heard the door open and Harry walking in, it was 2:30 in the morning. "Are you okay?"

Harry jumped at Louis's voice coming from the sofa, "Yeah. Yeah I am."

"Good."

"Um.." Harry shifted his weight from one feet to another, "What are you doing up so late?" He asked awkwardly.

"Couldn't sleep." Cause all I can think about is you and I don't care who you were out with, I just wanted to make sure you were safe.

"Okay. Well, I'm going to-uh go." Harry started to walk towards his room only to stop midway hearing Louis's voice.

"Why did you do this?" Louis walked up to Harry, "I did ask you that did you want this or not. I never even forced you to do anything. Never even told you that I will not pull off the wedding with just your one command. Then why all this?" He was grateful that it was dark so Harry couldn't see his eyes welling up.

"I-Um-" Harry was speechless, he didn't know this is how Louis felt. "Let's go for a walk."

--------

After 20 minutes of walking and Harry explaining how his family would've never allowed him to say anything like that without kicking him out and even if Louis did pull off, they would've blamed Harry and still kick him out.

"I'm really sorry for hurting you and your family, Louis." Harry looked up into Louis's blue eyes, which he hadn't notice how blue they were. With the city lights shining down on his face, Louis looked very very good.

"I'm sorry too." Louis let out a breath. "For everything."

"Not your fault." Harry smiled.

Louis smiled back, cause this was probably the first time, Harry's wasn't fake, "Your dad told me you wished to become a dancer?"

"God no!" Harry rolled his eyes, "I want to become a singer, that's why I came here to find some producer to launch me, or at least try to even audition properly. I had to wait 5 hours to get in for a demo and then later they told me that they want to wrap up for today. I have to go in tomorrow again." Harry groaned.

Louis frowned not liking one bit how his baby had to put up with so much. "Don't worry, one day you will become one of the greatest artist."

"You haven't even heard me sing, Louis." The man almost died with the way Harry blushed.

"Well, then you see I support me husband no matter what." Louis grinned.

"Oh god! Here we go.." Harry had a bright smile on his face. This is the first time someone had ever told him that and it really did feel amazing. "So what will you do here?"

"I can't go back to the village, still don't know how to break the news to my family." Both the boys face fell over this. "I've already taken a month or so holiday from my office, maybe I'll just go back..?"

"No. Don't go. Stay." Harry said without thinking twice. "You can explore the city with me." He smiled hopefully enough to change Louis's decision.

"Sure." Louis didn't even think he would be this happy few hours ago. "Are you asking me out?"

"As friends, you goof." Harry playfully rolled his eyes and began walking back to the house.

"Is friendship what you wish to call our relationship, Mr. Tomlinson." Louis fake gasped.

"Oh my god! You never give up do you!" Harry laughed back.

And yes, Louis's not giving up on his love too.

-----

"Hey Zayn?" Louis had gotten up early in the morning to call his best friend.

"Sup Lou?" Zayn said from the other line.

"I need to ask you for a favour."

"Go ahead, anything for you."

"There's someone I want you to launch." Zayn had his management company. Both boys had met in collage, even when Zayn dropped out in second year to pursue his dream, they had managed to stay good friends.

"Okay? But who?" Zayn asked unsure.

"My Husband."
