Odilia's point of view:-
One moment I am sleeping and dreaming about the most beautiful shoes and the next moment I am saving a man from dying.
'ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!' I screamed at him. He should know better to smell a foxglove. It's one of the deadliest flowers in the entire world. Probably the only flower more dangerous that wolf's bane.
(This is what a foxglove flower looks like. It is actually very poisonous and, just don't try to go near it, ever.)
'I just wanted to smell the flowers. It looked very pretty.' The guy mumbled lowly. He was wearing clothes that looked very expensive. His shoes were caked with mud and his hair was dishevelled. He had really fair skin and brown hair. He looked really cute while pouting.
'Come on! You're telling me you've never seen or heard about this flower?' I asked him. He gave me a look and shook his head. He really looked very cute while doing this...
Wait a minute...
'What are you doing here?' I asked him with a murderous glare. If he was smart enough to find this cave, he has to be some sort of spy or soldier. I swear if father had sent him...
'Please don't kill me!' He squeaked out. His eyes widened and he put up his hands in surrender. I neared my stick near him and nudged him to answer. He tried to move his hands behind his back but I growled. Literally.
'You better have a good enough reason to save yourself unless...' I trailed off and then finally, the moment I was waiting for. He spoke.
And I would be lying if his voice didn't sound the hottest thing on the planet. I wanted to jump his bones and make love to him over and over again. Only if he was not guilty though...
'I have a letter. I swear I am not pulling your leg.' Sounds alright. Nothing threatening about the letter. I lowered the stick but kept it in an attacking stance and watched his movement carefully. He kept one of his hands up in the air and snaked his left hand behind his waist, producing an envelope and a broken piece of stone.
I have seen this...
Snatching the letter and the locket from him, I studied it carefully. It looked like a brass locket. The chain had been completely ruined and it was a miracle it was in one piece. I eyed the man on the ground with wide eyes and ripped open the envelope to find the paper.
Sir,
Do I look like a "sir"?
You might not know who I am because I don't know you either. I came here a long time ago when my father and I were in the forest. He died when he inhaled the foxglove while searching for food. I also know that they were planted on purpose to trick intruders. Learning from that mistake, I resided in the cave for quite a long time and memorised the path leading towards the cave. It was the question of my survival and I didn't mean any harm. I saw the paintings on the cave and the bare accessories fit for a man.
I am feeling so offended, my father would be the happiest man. How dare he call me a man?
He is a boy unknown to the cruel nature of a forest. He needs to learn that his survival depends on himself only. Kind sir, teach him how to be an independent person.
This is one favour I am to ask you, kind sir. Just keep this man in hiding for a month. He doesn't know the way to any food or water sources. He had to run away for a reason that shall be kept unknown for a month. After a month is up, I will personally come to take him back and I will thank you in person.
Thank you for saving me. I really hope we meet one day.
The man who disclosed your secret hideout.
The fact that this man came, lived and went away and never disclosed my location proves to be the best person in this world. Only if I could find someone so pure like this. He didn't even tell this foxglove-smelling-fool about this place's secrets and the thought made me smile.
The only problem, he kept thinking I am a man.
Are my paintings that bad? I should've kept some dresses to make it seem like I was a lady, not a man.
'What's your name? Peter told me that a man lived here and he saved his life. I have no clue how but I need to thank that man.' The fool spoke. I gave him a cunning look and answered his question.
'There is no man here. I lived in this cave.'
Blaine's point of view:-
I can say that the shock on my face was evident since the woman was laughing madly. How could a lady live here in the middle of the forest?
She must have sensed my trouble so she answered, 'I live in a house in the kingdom nearby. Whenever things get tense, I run away and come here. It's my safe place and I love it here. Last I came here was about half a year ago and went back after a week or so. This Peter person must've come before or after that time and that's why he never saw me.' She smiled lightly.
So she is not a cavewoman. That's one relief. For all I know, she would kill me and eat me.
Stop thinking, Blaine. You do talk some shit when in distress.
'Well, this guy asked me very kindly to keep you hidden here and teach you how to survive in the wild. Now, since he never told anyone about this place, I'll help you.' The lady spoke. I looked at her wild curly hair and sighed internally.
Oh, how much I wish I had already married that stuck-up princess...
'What's your name? You don't seem from here?' She asked, looking at the locket carefully. Peter had that locket with him ever since he came back from this cave and held it close to his heart. He also asked me to mend it enough to look strong to rest on a person's neck. I never questioned it, but it looks like he stole it from this lady. She was holding it as her life depended on it.
Don't disclose your identity. Use your middle name.
Peter's voice rang in my ears and I jerked back into reality. The lady was now looking at me as if I would drop dead any second now. I shook my head and extended my hand.
'My name's Elias. A pleasure to meet you.' I lied, with a smile. For all I know, she'll tell my mother that I hiding in this cave the second I sleep.
'What does it mean?' She asked, with the same hostility. I smiled remembering the story. After Brei, it was a miracle that Lucas and I were born. Overjoyed, to thank the Lord, she named me 'Elias', meaning God in Latin. For a long time, dad resented that I should be named after one of the past Queens of our kingdom. I shook my head, thanking mom for not naming me after a lady.
'I'll take your mother named you? That is why you're smiling like a fool.' She gave a judgemental look. I just nodded and sat on the ground. My legs needed rest from all the crap I had uttered.
'Well, from the looks of the sky, clouds are coming and it will rain. I suggest you come inside the cave and let me teach you about survival in this harsh environment. Come on.' She limped inside the cave, muttering some words and sat on... Is that a bed?
Peter, if I don't come out sane, I'll haunt you forever for the rest of my life...
