ten hours ago;
She stood in an empty room by herself in a pure white wedding gown. She looked at herself in the full length mirror and asked herself again, am I really going to do this? Am I really going to marry someone I don't love? Someone I don't know? Yes. Yes, I am. For my parents to be free of their debt and for Jungkook. For my son. She closed her eyes and thought of how Jungkook would want to graduate and go to a good university. She thought about the kind of life he'd have if their family wasn't buried in debt. He'd have friends and he won't be ashamed of his family. She thought about her son and how he'd have a bright future if she remarries.
She was once married to a man who she thought was the love of her life. He is the son of his father's business partner. They used to own a company with them, however, his father's partner, the father of her son, tricked his father into a fake business deal that resulted to their family losing all their money and being buried in debt. The bank took everything they owned; their cars, their home, their furnitures — everything.
She graduated at the top of her class before this all happened but with her family's reputation now, no company wanted to take her. Even with excellent credentials, she still cannot get past the reputation her family holds now. The whole tragedy made his father look like a traitor who used all the company's money in gambling but that wasn't the truth. The truth was, his business partner, deceived him and worked up a plan to send her father under.
Her father committed suicide and left them a note of apology, leaving their family to suffer the backlash from the employees. They were forced to live dirt poor. It's just not enough. Now her mother found a way for them to be pulled out from the pit of hell. All she has to do is say two simple words— I do, then everything will be fine but is she ready for this?
She asked herself again as she faced her greatest opponent, herself. "Can I do this?" She whispered in the empty room, her heart filled with uncertainty.
Her gripped tightened around the bouquet of roses in her hands. She couldn't seem to convince herself that this is the right choice. She hated herself for being in this situation but it's too late to back out. In just twenty minutes, she will walk down that aisle and face the man who she's going to spend the rest of her life with. A man who liked her sincerely. A man who is twice her age and is old enough to be her father. The vision of her future sent chills down her spine. Her body jolted and she shot her eyes open when someone busted into the silent room. Her eyes focused on the figure by the doorway, studying his tormented face.
"Jungkook? What are you doing here?" She asked her younger brother. "The wedding will start in a few minutes—"
"Run." Jungkook spoke as his glare pierced through her. He walked towards her and grabbed her by the shoulders. "Runaway. Run now! I know you don't want to marry that old geezer. Just go."
"Jungkook, I.. I can't. What about Noah?" Her gaze fell on the floor and he started to grip painfully at her shoulders.
"I know you don't want to marry him. Don't think about me or mom, just runaway with Noah. He's with Jimin. He's safe." Jungkook talked her into the idea of running away and suddenly that was all she wanted to do. He shook her shoulders, making her look up at his face again, "Do you understand? Run and don't come back again."
"What about you?" Her eyes softened at the thought of leaving her only family. "And mom? She's going to hate me."
"She won't." Jungkook gave you a small smile as he squeezed on your hand. "She's pained enough as it is when she forced you to marry a guy you barely know. She won't hate you. I won't hate you so just runaway. We'll be fine. I will protect mom."
With the last words he said and the look in his eyes as he said it convinced her. She dropped the bouquet of flowers and it bounced off the carpeted bridal room with a thud. She went for the door, running past his brother, before she rushed out into the hallway without looking back to say goodbye. She managed to dodge the security guards and the eyes of a few people on her way to escaping. However, unluckily for her, one of the security guards caught sight of her in her wedding dress, running out into the street so she hiked up the front of her dress and ran aimlessly forward. She didn't know where to go. She just know that she has to run forward. Anywhere.

jin's inauguration;
"Stay here and don't go wandering anywhere. Don't touch anything. I'll be back." Namjoon left the girl in his car with a final warning. He went into the party to look for his brother, the only who he trusts enough to ask help from.
He spotted the man of the night standing at the podium as he gave his speech. Namjoon noticed a few heads turned when he entered, including his parents', displaying a dismayed look on both of their faces. Jin met Namjoon's eyes as he finished his speech and the a loud applause erupted from the audience and Namjoon noticed how proud their parents are. He was too preoccupied to notice the girl she came with entering the premises.
She caught a glimpse of someone familiar. That man and his son. They came out of a obsidian car, a man holding out the door for the family. His ex husband was dressed in only all the expensive things money can buy. How could they even have the audacity to show their faces and mingle with other people after how they've ruined her family?
Out of rage, she opened the door and followed them in despite the guard's attempt to stop her. She yanked her arm back from the man who was stopping her from coming in. She was making a ruckus as she yelled for them to let her go. Namjoon immediately recognized her voice and cursed silently. The whole party now stared at the bare footed girl in the wedding dress. She was a mess and they judged her brutally, picking at her flaws.
"Who is this girl?"
"Oh this poor lady. She has no shoes and look at her ruined dress."
"How awful. Just sad.."
"Isn't she the Kwon's daughter-in-law?"
"She's not anymore. Didn't you hear what happened to her family?" Two women whispered back and forth with each other while they scrutinized her. "Her father spent all the company's money in gambling then he committed suicide when it all got out of control."
She froze at the realization that the whole audience was now focused on her. Her anger seemed to have melted and then she felt shame as she heard them whisper around her. They all looked like important people. She was utterly lost.
Then a hand gripped her arm and she jumped at the coldness of his fingers. The man hissed lowly at her, avoiding further embarrassment, "What the hell are you doing here? Aren't you getting married today?"
"Get your hand off me!" She pulled her arm back and then spat back at him, "Fuck off!"
"Don't embarrass yourself further and follow me outside." He spoke bitterly. He used to be the sweetest person to her now they were both glaring at each other. Jiyong grabbed her hand again and forced her to follow her out.
"Don't touch me. I don't know you." She glared at him and he looked right into her hatred filled eyes.
Jiyong then turned his back to her and went to show his apology by bowing in front of the host of the party, the Kim's. "I deeply apologize for this disturbance. She's with me."
"No, I'm not. I don't know this person." She resisted with the little dignity she had.
"Then who are you to be here?" Namjoon's mother piped, furious. "Are you not aware that this is an important event for us? For what useless reasons are you here for?"
She couldn't answer. Jiyong glanced at his ex wife who seemed to have froze on her spot. Namjoon met her eyes before she lowered her head then his mother added, "Someone take her away."
"I am so very sorry. I'll take her away." He bowed to apologize again before he turned to face her with a disappointed look. Then he gripped at her wrist as he spoke between gritted teeth. "Come with me."
"Wait!" Namjoon spoke up and heads turned to him, including his parents'.
His family looked at him, questioning his actions and praying that he won't put the family in shame tonight but he couldn't just let some guy treat her like that. No one deserves to be belittled like this, especially not by his own family.
Namjoon stepped up and walked to her side. He took her hand and made Jiyong release his hold on her before he said, "Actually, she's with me."
