" Mommy? how long have we been walking?" dot asked. " about 4 miles sweetie we'll stop soon to rest then we need to keep walking." I told her. " she continued to follow me. " will I grow up to be as strong as you ?" she asked. I just laughed " yes every horse is strong in his or her own way dot you'll grow up to be strong." I told her. she trotted up beside me and looked up at me. " when are we gonna find a herd?" she asked. " soon hopefully" I told her. this was true I wanted to find a herd to keep us safe for the winter and hopefully forever. it didn't feel right just walking with two horses. one of which being a foal, we continued to walk for 4 more miles. " mommy can we stop now I'm getting hungry?" she asked. " yes sweetie I'm getting quite hungry myself" I told her looking down at her. we stopped to graze for a few minutes. "come on dot were gonna walk for a little bit longer hopefully we can find something to drink." I told her. she cantered around me. " alright I'll race you there" she said galloping in front of me. " are you challenging me?!" I laughed running after her. I let her win and we soon came upon a small creek. " get a drink dot, then we're gonna have another race" I challenged her. " okay mom well your gonna need a drink too." she said, I grabbed a quick drink. and waited for dot, " alright mom you ready to race?" she asked. " yes dot " I answered. " alright go!" she yelled galloping in front of me, I quickly followed she was pretty fast for a foal i thought to myself. she galloped to a tree and waited for me to catch her. " ha I win again!" she teased. " that was just my warm up" I said laughing.
