I woke up in the morning with a strange feeling in my entire body. " Dakota, why do I feel like something bad is gonna happen today?"
I asked her. " Don't worry about it Phoenix it's probably nothing" she said grooming my coat. I shook the feeling off and walked out of the cave. " Phoenix don't go too far, stay where I can see you" Dakota called following me out of the cave. " Alright Dakota" I promised. The grass was so green this high up in the mountains, I grazed until Dakota came and told me we needed to get going. " aww come on Dakota can't we stay for a little while longer my hooves ache!" I whined. " no I'm sorry Phoenix we really need to get going, we can eat when we find another place to settle down at." she assured me. I stopped eating and happily trotted over to her, " ready to go" I told her as we started walking down the path that was going up the mountain. " how long had you been walking until I found you ?" Dakota asked. " not too long I wanted to get as far as possible and find a herd" I told her. she nodded and we continued walking up the mountain. we occasionally stopped to get some water but that was after we had walked a long time. every part of my legs hurt but I didn't want to complain to Dakota after she had done so much for me already.
