"What's up?" Tyler asked calmly after a few moments of silence. 

His cousin hesitated, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear as she moseyed down their long route. Tyler started to scuff his shoes on the sidewalk in boredom as he awaited an answer. 

"I heard some kids talking in the hall today at lunch," Rachel said, finally. "They were talking in low voices, saying stuff about a guy they knew from Jackson High. They said all kinds of things about him rallying a small group of teenagers and the like. It turns out that the guy is leaving tonight. They're gonna run, Ty,"

Tyler went silent.

Rachel stopped walking and turned to her cousin, placing her hand on his shoulder.  "I'm not brave enough to leave, but, Tyler, I think you should go."
