Fan... girls?
"This is such a bad answer." Jiyeon replies, sighing in disbelief as she lay on her bed.
"Isn't this a family related quote? How did—"
"Did Hyuntae reply to your question?" Jimin peeks, his head dangling as he lay on the top of their double bed.
"Yeah but it's—HEY!"
Jimin immediately snatches her phone in one swift motion.
"Yes, I believe that blood is thicker than water because blood has proteins while water doesn't. Blood comprises of red cells, white cells, and platelets. On the other hand, H2O is just H2O. So yes, blood is thicker than water," Jimin read-aloud Hyuntae's text.
"Wow... that's too much for me to comprehend," he jokes, chuckling as he gives Jiyeon her phone.
"Welp, that concludes my morning contemplation of what I'm doing with my life," Jimin says as he gets up from bed and forces himself to get ready for the day.
Yawning to himself, the man adds, "Maybe he just got the context wrong. You know he's a studying medicine."
Okay, maybe Jiyeon was exaggerating.
"Are you off to the studio?" Jiyeon asks, sitting up on the bed while rubbing her eyes slightly.
"Mhmm," Jimin hums in reply, running a hand through his bird's nest.
"Tell Hobi I said hi," Jiyeon says before plopping back to bed.
"Oh and come back for lunch whatever your agenda is today. Mom asked me if we can accompany her to the market this afternoon," Jimin reminds Jiyeon before leaving their room.
"Okie dokie."
Buzzzz
It's Jiyeon's 5th morning alarm.
WAKE UP GIRL YOU HAVE A RALLY TODAY
"Oh shit. I have a rally today!"
---
Seokjin quietly sat on his seat as he blatantly observes the roads and buildings they pass.
A lot has changed with the high buildings competing with each other on who's the tallest, yet it's the same old Seoul. Nothing really changed for the past 21 years of Seokjin's existence.
"You're highness, may I need to remind you that the summer gala is in a week's time?" Moon Byulyi, Seokjin's personal assistant and childhood friend, spoke, breaking the prince's thoughts in a trance.
Summer gala...
Meaning other nations will be visiting the palace.
"I am very aware of that Byul," Seojin sighs. Like the past years, it's always been the same. However, this will be the second year, Seokjin attends the gala without his... family.
~
"Now, now boys. Settle down," the Queen chuckles as she sees her three princes.
The three princes were caught red handed, freezing into place as a 17-year-old Seokjin was trying to catch a 13-year-old Taehyung. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old Namjoon was hiding the arm of the chair he just recently broke.
The Queen just laughs at her children, making the three boys smile.
"Ready up, my darlings. The summer gala will commence soon," she announces, making the three boys smile wider and run back to their chambers.
~
4 years without his parents...
3 years without his brother...
and 2 years without his other brother.
This year, and the year before... he attends alone.
And he misses his family.
"Also, I think I might've heard... You uncle might betroth you to the princess of France—"
Seokjin merely scoffs.
"What made him change his mind?" he comments. "I thought he wanted me poisoned on my birthday, or perhaps my head instead? Make the people believe of that stupid curse the Royal Family has."
A bitter laugh leaves the prince's mouth.
"I'd rather me being killed, than getting shipped to another country, and see him and his ancestors claim the throne."
The prince who has a sweet face and honey voice really is bitter.
"Well, if you prefer to have you killed on your birthday then I suggest you do the other way," Byulyi suggests.
The other way...
Before Seokjin's father was king, a rule was made. A Royal Family member can not be betrothed to another person if they are currently seeing someone. Not only was this to help the upcoming King, but also to make the Royal Family look better and not a dysfunctional and political family to the public.
But of course, Seokjin knew better than to believe in all those lies.
"Perhaps, you can bring a young maiden, and she can fulfill the role as your significant other for the time being," Byulyi says, but the prince only scoffs. He knew how he was bad with women. In all honesty, he knows how bad he is with people.
"Who ever will I bring to the gala?" The prince laughs at the situation like it's a joke. On the meantime, Byulyi just smirks noticing how near they were to the palace.
And once she saw the crowds of people gathered in the entrance, she spoke, "You can just pick from all your fan..."
However, it wasn't the people they expected to be in front of the palace gates.
"girls..."
Byulyi description of the people are wrong. Instead, the people in the gates of the palace were with banners, and wearing matching shirts. All protesting:
"Stop the division! Break the organization!"
"Stop the bone-rank system! Everyone deserves to be equal!"
"No one deserves to be labelled!"
"I'm so sorry your highness..." Sejin, Seokjin's driver said. "I changed routes because I thought you'd be irritated seeing your... fanclub. I didn't know that the rally will be on this gate."
Yes, Seokjin is irritated by his so-called "fanclub" and "fangirls" who are always outside the palace on a daily basis.
Let's just say, the man really despises being around people.
However, instead of thanking Sejin for his kind gesture, Seokjin was struck by the ongoing rally. These people were the second and third classes who got the chance to live in the city. The people whose ancestors received unfair treatment. Even they receive unfair treatment.
All because of status.
Rank.
Name.
But honestly, that wasn't the reason why Seokjin was awestruck. He really couldn't care less of the people outside the city's borders. He isn't King to deal with that. He is just a prince. Prince of Seoul.
Instead, there's a person that caught the prince's eye.
A person who's wearing some tacky shirt with some ripped pants that have sewn patches on them.
Their attire was hideous to the prince's eyes. "Stop bone-rank system," written in the front of their shirt.
Yet, that wasn't what made him speechless.
