I woke this morning groaning. Why? Because it's that time of the year. Yes my cytoplasmic lining decided to break and it just so happened to be the day that I had my perfect white sheets on.

Now I have to burn them.

The toughest thing about being a girl is your period. Like seriously we're practically bleeding every month. Though as much as I'm irritated by it I'm also glad because it signifies that you're not knocked up. So... It's a win lose type of thing. Okay enough about the bleeding.

I put on a black pair of shorts and an off shoulder nude top which I paired with my nude heels and they seemed to go pretty good together.

I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs bumping into one of my mother's latest conquest. The one I saw her snogging the other day.

He held me before I fell and I was grateful but I wasn't gonna tell him that was I?

"Next time watch where you're going. Especially when you're doing the walk of shame. " I point out standing up straight and looking straight at him.

" Next time don't run in heels. You could hurt yourself. " he says finally speaking after looking at me for a total minute. I don't have time to waste.

" And who are you to tell me what type of shoes to run in. You're not my dad. " I snapped.

" Yes I'm not your father but I don't wanna see a pretty girl get hurt. ". Did he just... Flirt? With me? Nah.

A smile dances on his lips and I notice that maybe mum doesn't have the worst taste in men. His brown eyes hold a glint of mischief and his smile is one dimpled and his lips......

Okay.  It must be the period talking. Right now my hormones must be going ballistic because there's no way when I'm in my right senses I'll see a middle aged man well he's probably in his twenties but same difference as hot or sexy or even cute.

"Excuse me grandpa. " I walk away to the kitchen.

Valerie comes running to me with a mischievous smile on her face. She grabs an orange and turns to me.

" Did you and handsome over there just have a moment? "

She called him handsome. Maybe it wasn't the hormones after all.

" First of all ew. Second no. And third, he's old enough to be our well.... He actually isn't that old but he's dating or fucking mom. Plus he was flirting with me that screams paedophile. " I take a huge bite out of my apple as I walk through the back door trying to avoid 'handsome'.

" He's just twenty four. And he's cute. " Val counters as we get in my car.

" Whatever you say Valerie. " I shrug then turn up the volume and I start singing along to shape of you.

Val stops with the questions when she hears her celeb crush's voice on the radio.

When we arrive at school I get the usual complements on my outfit and I also hear the usual nasty rumors.

When I look to the side I see Amy crying. Then I tilt my head to the side. Okay so I'm not there to bully her so... I guess either Addy kept herself busy or the boys did it. Valerie seems to have her own opinion because she brushes my hand with hers then glances at Amy.

Translation. What the fuck did you do now?

Once we get to my locker I eye the person next to it and he quickly scrambles away.

"I swear I didn't do it. Not yet at least. " I grinned at that last part.

" You're evil. " she smiles." I like it. "

" Keep learning baby sister. One day this will be your empire too. " I tap her head twice in quick succession.

Addy walks over to me smiling and I know my earlier suspicion will be confirmed. She has her hair down today and is wearing a big sweater with shorts which you can barely see and ankle boots.

" Hey babe. " she says approaching me.

" Hey." I kiss her cheek. Unlike other mean girls and their besties we're actually friends even though no one is truly your friend but we make it work. We've been friends since middle school so that's saying something plus we have this woman crush thing going on. Not lesbians though people so you can stop with the false stories.

"Like the view? " She points at fatty.

" Perfect. Just the way I like it. What'd you do? " I ask as I still look at Amy not in pity oh no never. But in delight. Thank God I got to school earlier today. I still have five minutes till the bell.

" Secret. " she smiles." Love your top. " she comments." Your mom? "

" As if. But her new man tried to make a move. " I tell her as we walk down the hall the bell just went and I've seen enough tears for the day.

" Oh. Val said he's hot. " she giggles. The idea of him being my sugar daddy is appealing to her but I'm not gonna be fucking the same man as my mother I may catch stds.

" Val would you stop telling people that mom's boy toy is hot. It's weird." I complain and she just shrugs like it's a normal thing.

"He is and he's really young so.... Mom's a cougar he's not paedophile. " she States.

Whatever.

"Besides it'll be illegal." I think out loud.

"Forbidden love. Hot. " Addy melts.

She's been watching too many Mexican soap operas.

I decide to ignore them as they promote a relationship that's not even happening. He flirted it doesn't mean he likes me. They're reading it all wrong.

Val leaves us and we head to our first class. Biology. Not my favourite but we'll get through it.

This time I didn't have to pay attention in class because we were learning reproduction and all that nasty stuff. The boys kept on asking stupid questions. And because of that reason our usual teacher old Arnold wasn't present. We had a sub. The gym teacher was assigned to this class since they had run out of subs.

"Hey Stephanie are you on your period now? " Julian one of the guys on our lunch table asks me from behind.

I raise my left hand up and put my middle finger out.

The class made noises and some of his buddies pat him on the back including Seth and I got a very stern look from Alessandra. I smiled in return making sure to shoe my pearly whites.

"Excuse me miss do you get one those too? " Seth asked. My brain must have have just been set on fire because I'm sure steam is coming out of my ears.

" Um... I am a woman Mr Sterling. " she bats her lashes. Her lashes! I mean can you be more obvious.

" That's debatable. " I give her a bored expression. Addy laughs and so does the whole class except Mr Sterling and of course cougar here.

The bell goes and she happily dismisses the class. But asks me to wait behind. I tell Addy to wait at the door and I remain behind my desk.

She smiles but I don't return it.

"Do you have a problem with me Miss Vaughn? " She asks me with a look that investigators have during questioning.

" A very big one. Do you have a problem with me Ally? " I ask with a smile.

" Well you've been quite a nuisance in my class. " she returns the smile.

" Oh you're going to find that a regular thing Miss. I assure you. "I stand meeting her and finding my self taller than her with my heels.

" You don't want to step on my toes Miss Vaughn. "

I laugh." Neither do you. You'll find it a very good thing to keep your toes to yourself. " I send her a wink and that dazzling smile of mine and I strut out of the class.

See you eighth period bitch.

Addy and I are still laughing about first period when we enter the cafeteria and just outside it under the stairs, everyone knows what happens under stairs. I see Amy sobbing but she's not alone she has a knight to comfort her. My Knight.

I ignore them and Seth doesn't notice me. So yesterday when we talked after school he told me nothing would be going on between them. I mean I'm not blind. I happen to know that some weirdos like their ladies fat but from the girls I've seen him flirting with he's totally not fat girl only.

I sit at the table in between a friend of Val and Addy. And a freshman got me a salad and I paid for the meal. Of course the meal was bland as always but at least it's something for someone who eats half an apple every morning every other day except weekends.

Seth sits in between me and the said friend and looks at me. Annoyance written all over his face.

Julian makes a noise and chuckles. "Trouble in Paradise."

I turn the to face Seth head on because babe this blonde cheerleader ain't afraid of anything and my hormones are making me all bravey today.

"What the hell Stephanie. " he asks his eyes gleaming. Has he been smoking.

I look at the expectant faces on our table. They're waiting for my snarky remark.

He follows my gaze and then pulls me by my arm. And I feel his nails digging into my skin. I cringe at the marks I'm going see there later. The only marks I appreciate are hickeys because they won't leave a mark. Well not a terrible abusive mark.

We get to the stairs and he's about to pull me under but I pull away. Oh hell no. I'm not going to where that fat ass just was.

I walk to the lockers instead and lean against one. He follows and when he gets to me I see that he's still as mad.

"Why do you hurt people? " he asks.

I tilt my head a little in thought. I hurt only those who are in my way. But I'm not telling him that.

" Why do you care? " I say casually.

" Discriminating is not a good thing Steph. "

" You do it too babe. The geeks, they do your homework. You make fun of that Asian girl in chemistry because her eyes are small. Up until recently you used to call that Jamaican boy who's rocking dreads a burnt rasta and that was racist too. "

" Fine. I know I've not been good but I'm ready to change okay and so should you. " he touches my face but I move my head.

" And you decided to start with the fat girl. " I leat out a small mocking laugh." Let's not forget Alessandra. That's two and counting. "

" Look nothing's going on between me and Amy okay and especially not with the teacher. " he holds my hand. No one wants the wrath of the Queen.

" Then answer me this. Why did you start talking to her? "

" Babe..... "

" Don't you fucking babe me. A week ago you laughed at her and now you want me to believe nothing is between you two. Honestly? I don't know why I bother. "

I walked away feeling classy. Amy you're the fat sheep and I'm the hunter. You won't know what hit you.

Even though I walked away with out a single tear. I was now in the janitor's office and no not with anyone but alone in my tears. I was sobbing and I was drenched in tears because I was frustrated and because of serious MP which is menstral pain. I was having cramps and that led to more tears.

This should be the sixth period and I'm skipping it because let's face it I'm a mess. My bag would be with Addy and I can't call her because my phone's in my bag. My makeup is all smudged and all and I bet I look worse than a clown. Did I say mess? I meant huge mess.

I hear a voice on the other side of the door and i get scared because if it's one of my.... Friends? Then I'm dead they'll think I'm crying because I want Seth. I would never cry over a guy. Ever.

The voice comes again and then I stand. It can't be the janitor because that voice cool and not in anyway old and boring.

"Um... Come in I guess. " I sigh.

The door opens and I see a boy definitely my age. He has dark hair and amazing blue eyes with oh so perfect lips. Is he new? Because I would have noticed someone like him. It was then I saw the glasses in his other hand.

He's a nerd. I groaned. Why does the universe hate me. Like I see a cute guy, already checking him out the bam the glasses. Why am I complaining? Because people like me and people like him don't mix. Like it's a tsunami waiting to happen.

He enters and I gesture for him to close the door. I put on the light and he cringes at my face. Yeah. A big ol' mess.

"Hey Stephanie. Are you okay. I heard crying so I decided to peak. " he says mixing his words together by saying them really fast. I must have made his life a living hell at some point and I can't remember his name.

" Um.... I'm drenched in tears, my makeup's smudged and I look like a psychopath and you're asking me if I'm okay? "

He stammers a bit and I sigh at my rudeness. A nerd is trying to help you the least you could do is be polite. I told myself.

" Yeah. Sorry. I've been having a shitty day. I'm not okay actually. I have cramps and I'm frustrated and that combo leads to tears. "

" Well. I'm sorry for what it's worth. He doesn't deserve your tears. " he says wiping away one that just spilled. Nerd's got nerve.

" What? " I ask.

" I saw. What happened. It's not your fault. " he puts his hands in his pockets.

" Thanks. You better head to class. "

" I'm supposed to be at the nurse's office but she gave me a pill. I have a cold. " he smiles and I have this weird feeling." Besides I can't leave you like this. Come on. " he says opening the door.

" I look like a monkey. " I state and he laughs and suddenly I can't feel my knees.

" I think I can fix that. " he smiles again.

We go out towards the field after I washed my face free of makeup. I looked glamorous. I'm not one of those people who look hideous without makeup.

He even gave me his hoodie to wear on top of my mascara stained blouse. When we went to the field we walked over to the bleachers and I saw two others, a boy and a girl both brunettes. The girl was actually pretty with thick large glasses on her face. I waited behind while he went to meet them.

After some talking they looked down at me and shook her head then after some more talking she gave him a purse. He waved towards them and we left and went back to the closet.

He handed me the purse.

"For your makeup. Jennifer doesn't wear makeup but she caries this around. " he stated after seeing my confused look.

" Well I can see why she doesn't wear it. It's cheap. " I frown then replace it with a smile." Thanks. For everything. You have to get to class? It's seventh period. " I say giving the purse back to him. I'm not using cheap products on my face.

" It's free. "

" You look nice without any though." he comments.

I chuckle." Thanks. "

We leave the janitor's closet checking that the coast is clear then he walks me to gym. I'm about to enter then I turn around and move towards to him. I give him a kiss on his cheek leaving a red imprint of my lips there.

" Thanks. I didn't get you name. " I tell him as I pull away.

" It's Grant. Nathan Grant. " he smiles. His face still red from my kiss. Cute.

I wave then enter.

" You're late miss Vaughn. " Alessandra announces in het tiny brain She's won.

" A queen is never late everyone else is simply early. " I say loudly as I get up the bleachers to my seat next to Addy.

The girls cheer and I bow with a big smile.

"Where'd you get the sweater? " Addy asks me smiling mischievously.

I put my finger to my lips.

" Secret. "
